Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Oh no JAM Get the painkillers out and get the hot water bottle ready! I think i got mine back after 8wks with Jack and 4mths with Ella even though i was bf'ing!

Jack is doing ok thanks TMAM. Redness in face has gone, although there is a slight rash on his arms but that can come and go for upto 4wks. Has gone to nursery as no need to be off.

Have my 36 wk appt with the mw this afternoon - be interesting to see if the AB's have done the trick....

Got another set of strong pains last night, but spread over a good few hours. I think she may have been shuffling downwards as i can feel something grinding when i walk Fingers crossed that i dont have too much longer to wait! I have been PG ALL year and just want a) a baby to hold and b) my body back

How are you all doing???

NotEvenTheTrees · 19/08/2009 18:42

Too quiet on here. Somebody needs to get pg.

Or somebody needs to have a baby.

Or married.

Themasterandmargaritas · 19/08/2009 19:58

Did you know ostriches lay an egg every other day during a period of 45 days in one year?

JamInMyWellies · 19/08/2009 21:07

Babies hah unlikely. Still not made an appearance whats the betting I will just have the cramps until I step out on the tarmac then get the drated thing. Double hah on the marriage numptysrus tonight.

SKYTVADDICT · 19/08/2009 22:14

I'm still getting married next year. Not done anything about anything tho so may have to rearrange proposed date!!

No more babies here!

Friends baby still ventilated. Has a chest infection now. Bless. She is coming home tonight. It must be horrible leaving him. She was very upset when I spoke to her earlier. I am visiting tomorrow night and going to give her a lift home.

I am going to book on a childminding pre-briefing course to decide if thats the way I want to go. I have the pack and have to order the EYFS pack before I go [gulp]

MmeJaffaB · 19/08/2009 23:00

Hi everyone

Sorry, I'm not around, August is always difficult for me to get on. 14 in the house this summer until the end of the month. lovely having everyone here but hard work. Have buggered my leg too but will explain further down.

Jorja is all better, Maddie and H didn't get the HF&M, not sure how they got away with it, but pleased! Maddies party has been re-arranged for next Thursday, she is happy. Her BF came to play this avo, it is lovely listening to her jabber away in French now!

The weather is scortching, I am loving it, plenty of pool days and a great tan!

Oh AM and PJ, forgot to tell you my smear was clear!

So the leg!
I joined the gym for the summer with Sylvie (my dance/aerobics teacher) we went Monday eve to a legs, bums and tums class, the trainer nearly killed us and Sylvie is a fitness instructor!!! Then we went last night to a Step class, 15 mins in I got cramp in my left calf, I stopped and stretched it out and then went back to the step but seconds later my calf went PING! I was so gutted, embarrased and in pain, felt like a twat as I crawled out of the studio. Couldn't put my foot to the floor last night, today I can hobble. The worst thing was that having waited all summer to dance again we had a "group" practice this evening. I went to dance in my head, it was sheer torture seeing my space in the line and everyone else dancing whilst I sat at the side with my leg up on a chair. We have a show next week so am praying I will be fit for it again.

I'm sorry I really haven't even had chance to lurk and keep up. I'm relying on those I talk to off board to keep me in on the gossip keep me up to date.

Have a good rest of summer lovelys and in true Arnie style, "I'll be back"

largeginandtonic · 19/08/2009 23:15

All alone again.

Still at least it's my birthday tomorrow, that'll cheer me up

Aw you lot are lovely

I got the card all signed by your fantastic selves. Honestly you really do keep me going, i would be such an unhappy bunny if i had to do this all alone.

I have had FB messages and a 2 gorgeous bracelets from my sis in law. The children have made me cards and dubious 'perfumes' in wine bottles A twin made me coupons. They include, devil watching time (Beau), Bluebell watching time, bed time (zzzz), coffee making, bed making and hitting his brother (t'other twin). I am pretty sure the last one was for him!

The other twin wrote me a poem

Happy Birthday Mum
Hope your day is better than my bloomin bum
your day will be great
with Claire your mate
because you are 32
and i love you

Talent, no?

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2009 23:02

Where the hell is everyone?

We need a new thread too. Title suggestions am currently brain dead.

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2009 23:11

May 07 I beg of you.

Tempt scoot back.

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2009 23:31

Go on then.

Name back again then

I must go to bed, am reading a good book though, The Condition by Jennifer Haigh. Fairly traumatic i have to say but am hoping it helps me a bit

ShowOfHands · 21/08/2009 23:35

Did my name change then?

That's the New England one with the girl with Turners? Read a review of it a while back. Good I seem to remember.

Sleep fgs, the boy'll be up in a couple of hours.

largeginandtonic · 21/08/2009 23:43

The girl will be up, she is stirring. Think i will dream feed when i go up. She is becoming restless at night, feeding 3-4 times. I am giving her breakfast and tea now and she is eating with gusto whereas just a week or so ago she was hit and miss. She is 7 months

The boy has only just gone to bed

I made him watch an episode of Supernanny with a naughty boy who would not go to bed He just laughed and said "naughty boy". I give up.

Yes that's the book. Have gone a bit mad and ordered lots of Turners books in an attempt to come to terms with it all. I fear i will be of no use to her unless i am in a good spot myself >

Bed, bed, bed.
