Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Some of them are just bolters I think. She'll grow out of it when she understands the danger. M too scared of cars to go anywhere near a road thankfully. We have Climbing Issues instead.

Nighty night.

Tillyscoutsmum · 31/07/2009 21:18

She's a climber as well What fun having a "spirited" child is . I'm due a docile well behaved one next time, no ?

Thanks again - Nighty night

largeginandtonic · 31/07/2009 21:22

Ha ha ha ha at 'due a docile one' 7 down and still waiting.

B refuses all hand holding, he just runs on ahead. Tis a nightmare.

Sleep well my sweet

SOH ta for the rolo input. Do you think it is fate that i should buy those shoes as i LOVE rolo's?

largeginandtonic · 31/07/2009 23:23

SOH look at these for Tilda!!!

these too!!

Themasterandmargaritas · 01/08/2009 07:42

Tills how are you feeling this morning? I hope you are not too sore you poor thing, you must have had a fright. J doesn't listen to me at all, never. It drives me mad as the other two are very sensible.

We are leaving this lovely house and moving to the in laws for a few days today. I am madly cleaning and washing around my hundreds of guests!

And it's raining again.........

Tillyscoutsmum · 01/08/2009 09:13

Hi - not feeling too bad thanks. Took a while to get to sleep last night - kept replaying it in my head I am aching like I've run a marathon this morning - which considering I only ran about 5 yards before I fell flat on my face, is an indication of how terribly unfit I am . I've also got some stunning bruises. Tils keeps saying "Mommy fell over chasing Tilly" and looking quite sad about it so I'm hoping it might make her think a bit in the future (unlikely I know !). She really doesn't listen to a word I say but I have no idea how to get through to her. She's such a pickle

Gin - which shoes did you get ? I love those little Doc Martin mary janes. I think I may need some retail therapy

TMAM - enjoy your time at your in laws . I am truly fed up of the rain and DH has still gone out for the day on the bike. Crazy sod

JamInMyWellies · 01/08/2009 17:58

Tilly how scary, hope you are feeling a bit better this afternoon. Cant help as I have a bolter too invest in reins or better still never let them put of the buggy.

Themasterandmargaritas · 01/08/2009 20:22

LG&T you are sooooo naughty. You made me buy those M&S shoes. They are fab.

Tills, I'm glad you are ok. It sounds like dd understood that you got hurt, poor thing . When I want J to understand I find I have to sit him down and tell him to look at me, I calmly explain the situation and pray to goodness that some of it has gone in. Good luck.

I hope April and SOH are having fun.

Creena · 01/08/2009 20:51

Hullo ladies! Long time no chat! I saw AM's lovely photos from your meet-up on Facebook and they spurred me into coming back to say howdy and catch up with you all again.

I'm trying to remember the state of play when I last posted - LG&T, Sky and TYG were all expecting. I know Sky had a lovely little boy. How did it all go, Sky? And what news of LG&T and TYG? How did you both get on?

I know that AM is now expecting - anyone else? And what other news is there? There must be loads!

Not much to report from here. I had a little boy back in October. He was due in November but we had a repeat performance of Conor's arrival in May 07 - waters breaking at 36 weeks but no sign of labour and having to be induced at 37 weeks. It wasn't a good experience sadly but the main thing is that Eoin arrived safe and well and he's a gorgeous little 9 month old crawling and drooling bundle of fun now! We moved house when he was just 5 weeks old, which was utter madness, I tell you! I haven't gone back to work and it looks like I might not be but it's not definite yet so I don't want to say anything in case I jinx it!

Would be lovely to catch up with lovely ladies and if you remember me, do say hello! I'll pop back as much as I can and will make a concerted effort to keep up with you all!

MmeJaffaB · 02/08/2009 20:11

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz so tired, fab weekend but definately drunk too much and not slept enough, I know, I know, self inflicted, no sympathy blardy blardy bla!

Have managed to load just a few photo's onto FB but will do some more tomorrow, I have loads.

AM & SOH, hope you've had fun today, sounds like they did good AM, well done sunshine!

Good to hear from you Creena and a late congratulations on Eoin.

elkiedee · 03/08/2009 00:15

Tilly, eek at the running in the road. No idea how to teach D road sense either, but we have bought him a little rucksack with reins on for when we let him out of the buggy. His CM had one for him. He's actually been ok when waiting for buses etc about perching on the horrible seats and holding one of our hands etc.

elkiedee · 03/08/2009 00:19

Belated congratulations Creena - my ds2 (Feb 2009) is called Conor like your May baby. Jam and Befnal have also had babies in December and January, and there've been several others and yes, there are lots more on the way.

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2009 08:35

Just a quick one as i am totally knackered after a very exciting weekend at the races!!

Took 5hours to drive to Snetterton (should have taken 3) on Friday, got you love the M25 - NOT

Had a good day on Saturday and we qualified 8th out of 18 but there was only 1 second separating the pole position and the driver in 12th!! The closest I've ever seen it. First race we had a blinder and got 3rd place!!!!! Our first podium - Paul blubbed like a girl, was awesome! 2nd race Dh was interviewed on ITV4 and i seem to have been caught on camera several times - J&E were watching at home and kept saying 'there's my Daddy'. Finished 5th so another fab place. Last race not so great , we went from 5th to 3rd and then the safety car came out, the guy leading slammed his breaks on causing our car to hit 2nd place, this gave us 'flat spots' on the tyres and all went towards us losing 3rd and getting 7th. Thankfully, the winner got disqualified and we got 6th, good result, although could have actually been 2nd!! Not sure i could take the excitement - 1 podium after 4 years of touring car involvement was just about all i could take, anymore and i think i would have ended up in labour

Anyway, sorry for the ramble on about it, but we are so chuffed

SOH, dh and the gorgeous Tilda arrived just after race 1 and was so nice to see them again! Tilda quite liked the car when it was stationary in the garage, not so much when they were going round the track.

SOH, I hope your dn is doing ok, and that you all got back safely. Thank you so much for coming down x

Tilly I hope you are feeling better today after your tumble

Creena - YAY you have come back!!
Babies:
December: JAM = ds2
January: Pebble = ds3, LG&T = dd2, Befnal = dd2, elkee= ds2
March: MKG = dd1

Those expecting:
September: me
December: CharleyMouse, Tillyscout, PinkJenny

MrsJB, how was the wedding? All good fun i hope

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2009 09:14

Forgot to wish SKY's Lewis a happy 1st birthday - have a great day x

AprilMeadow · 03/08/2009 09:19

Have lost my mind!! I'm a day early in my birthday greetings........

Creena · 03/08/2009 10:36

Thanks for the congrats, ladies. You're all so lovely!

Well done at Snetterton, AM! Sounds like a fantastic day for Team Sunshine!

Wow, so many new babies too - congratulations to everyone who's had a babay or has one impending! All wonderful news. I've been getting massively broody again lately (I know, I must be insane) but it won't amount to anything. DH not keen to say the least. In fact, he's so not keen that it's not even worth discussing with him! It's probably down to the fact that I'm getting old and running out of time so my clock is ticking madly. Also, Conor is going to start at day nursery for a couple of mornings a week from September in preparation for starting pre-school there. It seems to have flown by so fast.

Elkiedee - excellent name choice! Conors are lovely as I'm sure you know!

largeginandtonic · 03/08/2009 19:55

AM hooray for team AM!!!!! Sounds exhausting, both the travelling and the races. Rest perhaps? A little maybe?!

Creena a lovely boy, well done you. I bet he is gorgeous. Lovely to hear from you, no staying away now. I had India/Bluebell (undecided) she is 6 months old now!

I am not talking about this weekend other than i sat for far too long in trafic and whoever crashed on the m4 is blardy inconsiderate

I did see my lovely BF due her 5th boy on Sept 6th. She looks great. Her last labour was 40mins, the one before an hour i am going to stay the week before he is due so might get to catch one after 10 years...

The older children have gone to stay with their Dad and i just have B and B.

TMAM i went to M&S before i ordered the Boden shoes and am sooooo glad i did. I got these Nicer then the Boden ones i thing and half the price. They are so comfy and look great with the dress. I am mucho pleased.

I tried on the Leopard ones, they were very nice too. I may go back for them...

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/08/2009 07:09

Wow April, what a result! It sounds very exciting. Now you really need to calm yourself down just a tiny bit, it's no wonder your babies arrive early.

Congratulations Creena and lovely to have you back.

Feeling better? Did it all go well?

Gin, I tried those ones on too and just loved them, but I could only justify one pair and the £15 price tag just did it for me. You will look divine.

I drove to London on Sunday night sans enfants and went to visit my bf and her 10 week old baby. I spent a lot of time cuddling and nappy changing, he is adorable and it was lovely to have some time with my bf without one of my small people demanding something or other from me.

AprilMeadow · 04/08/2009 08:40

I spent the whole of yesterday vegging out and didnt get out of my pj's until 5.15 when i figured i should get dressed so that i could collect the kids from nursery!!

Most energetic thing i did was hang the curtains in the nursery and wash all the cot & moses basket linen.

Today's tasks are to turn the house from looking like a bomb has gone off to something slightly tidier - will be a project that lasts all week

No other plans this week apart from my mw appt tomorrow afternoon (34wks - total madness)

TMAM it must have been lovely to see your bf's little bubba and not have to worry about what your own dc's were up to.

LG&T hope you are able to take it easy yourself this week whilst the bigger dc's are with their dad.

Creena · 04/08/2009 10:06

A little lady, LG&T! Such gorgeous names too. I can't believe she's 6 months old already. Where does the time go?

TM&M - how excellent that you got to see your bf's little one, especially on your own. I know what you mean about being able to pay attention to another baby without one of your own suddenly requiring immediate assistance with something or other!!!

AM - you should totally spend the day in your PJs vegging on the sofa. After all the excitement this weekend, you must be shattered. You really ought to put your feet up a while longer, I think. I can't believe you're 34 weeks already.

I know this probably sounds awful but I'm kind of looking forward to when Conor starts at nursery. I think it will do him the world of good and if I can persuade Eoin to have a nap while Conor's there, I could get so much done around the house. I feel so guilty for thinking that though. And a little tragic (let's be honest - I really ought to get out a bit more)!

DjangoTheDjinn · 04/08/2009 13:59

Am giving up coherent speech. Too exhausted. From now on I will be conveying the events of the past few days in smiley form.

[fuck][bollocks][relief][neeyow][brumbrum ][zzzzz][zzzz]

Not feeling very djinny today either, sense a namechange coming on...

RedDeadFail · 04/08/2009 18:49

Oi Jammy. If you do not remove that pregnant looking photo of me from fb, I will come down there and draw all over your lovely purple dresser. I am not kidding. I have my [didn'trealiseiwassofat] face on.

AprilMeadow · 04/08/2009 19:46

LOL - you can un-tag yourself in any picture you know...

How are you? How is your dn?

Themasterandmargaritas · 04/08/2009 20:24

You don't look pg, just startled like that. What is wrong with dn?

No purple shoes for you?

JamInMyWellies · 04/08/2009 20:28

Good would be lovely to have you visit when shall I expect you?

Do you want me to untag you?
