Mmmmmmmm I love a good fried tea What did you have?

cyteen · 27/04/2009 22:36

Egg, bacon, home made potato wedges and beans Shamefully the wedges were a second best choice as we didn't have any oven chips in

Anyway girls, am off to bed. Ooh, but not before sharing my exciting news that I accidentally discovered an old friend is a MNer today! Aces or is it just sad that I found that so exciting?

hotterpotter · 27/04/2009 22:44

Running out of oven chips , that's why we had wedges too the other day . And yay for your MNer friend, I wonder about mine but they seem to be busy with their children

hotterpotter · 27/04/2009 22:45

Think it's time I went too, but can't decide whether to turn DS's night light off before I go. It's very dark in there compared to my room, what if he gets scared?

dizzydixies · 27/04/2009 22:46

hotter you have to tell me which rug before you go!!! am too tired for decor decisions on my own

hotterpotter · 27/04/2009 22:53

I imagine I'm not allowed to say the Orla Kierly one

good lord no, am not getting the £650 one, I just admire it from afar and aspire to find a similar one for a 10th of the price

I had a look at the ones in B&Q today and they certainly didn't have that one

am giving serious consideration to the flattened out tea caddy!

night all

chicken enchiladas and black beans were a big hit this evening. would have liked to have more sauce but such is the learning process. i'll remember to get more next time.

tomorrow a friend is popping by for lunch. does potato soup, salad, fresh bread and tea sound good? trying to think simple and that's about all my mind could conjure plus it's all here so no shopping.

spoke to the mortgage lender today. she's hoping that while our paperwork is in underwriting that the rates will drop a bit more. maybe 4.5% for our 15year loan. that is more incredible that anything on the planet right now. add that to our 0% car loan for dh's midlife crisis 2006 dodge charger r/t daytona edition (not that that means anything to anyone here) and i can truly where the ffg crown around this house.

miamla i have the same weigh issue as you thus another reason bf wasn't worth it to me. it's so hard to bring my weight back up once it starts dropping. and then i start feeling really really bad.

aibu moment:
we are set to have an appraisal for the new mortgage any day now. it will probably be a surprise when the dude shows. well our neighbor (dd1's best friend's dad) just brought home a piece of shit, 1976 suv, rusted out with mismatched sides. it's now parked right next to my rose garden (which is starting to bloom). the smell of gasoline now surrounds the area. WOULD IT BE WRONG for me to ask them to move it or park it in their EMPTY garage? WTF!!!

Trying to catch up...

Dizzy do you know the Marimekko stuff from Finland, I thought you might like it if you like Orla stuff.

The woven ground rugs are wonderful. Do you think it is abit too cheap make do and mend to make a crochet rag rug for Izzy's room? I was thinking of getting some old white and coloured t-shirts and making a round rug.

Oooh gold paint - would love that for our sitting room - but probably not worth it at the mo. Which would go very well with the rug VG found.

TS no I don't think it would BU to ask them to move it.

So rekon I'm all caught up.

A better night here for all three of us. Followed our accord to the letter (I go into Izzy when she crys, feed and soothe for half hour, put her down and leave. DH goes in half hour later to soothe for 10mins then leaves, rinse and repeat taking it in turns to go in)

DH put her down after her good-night feed and she woke at 9.15, we went through the routine and we only had to go in once, she then woke up at 2, I fed and soothed her she woke as she went down but went off to sleep again. Woke about 7ish.

Big result - I know CIO isn't for everyone and I do wish we could have found a gentler way of doing things but we were getting so confused and cross at each other that this has to be better for all of us.

Just hope it lasts.

Sunny here today so a big wash day bekons.

So pleased all went well yesterday steaky and the first night has been a success.

Good on you FFG TS. So wish I could get off my backside similarly [lazy].

Love, love, love the butterfly rug dizzy. Think the lovely red one is particularly striking.

Don't suffer from the weight dropping off problem of TS and miamla, but am increasingly with age, finding that the body weight I'm happy with (not trying to be Keira Knightly here, just a size 10 ) makes my face look really gaunt, but when it fills out the rest of me looks pudgy. Hmmm.

Sorry to hear things aren't so good with your pf. Thinking of you.

Sorry to too to hear of H's chickenpox ALBS. Are these thread chickenpox straight from CC's O? If so, could I have some? (sorry to be flippant ) Had so psyched myself up for ours to pick it up from their cousins but not a spot on either of them. Hope the feeding picks up soon though ALBS. Can't offer any advice but I am finding that I'm down to 3-4 bfs per day max now. Is H still having his evening bottle?

Wotcha poppy

VG CIO - cry it out - supposed to allow your child the opportunity to self-settle.

Very frowned on by some as it seems cruel to leave a baby to cry, though others say as long as you know she isn't ill or unsafe then she is just having a good yell.

Sazzles was going to tell you something but can't remember what - something to do with babies and breakfast, please assume it was very witty and entertaining.

BFing still going apace here, we manage a good 4 feeds a day, though most of those are settling to sleep feeds.

Dr was good yesterday, didn't like my list of ADs that I had got but said he did know of one I could take, so need to book in for a blood test before we can pick up the prescription.

So slowly slowly we are going the right way.

Morning all. Lime and coconut cake in the oven, friend wants me to bring it to toddlers but it will be way too hot. Oh dear. Kurt is on my bed eating reading a 'That's not my robot' type book.

Maybe I have issues with prams because I live up a very steep hill and all the kerbs round here are 6" high.

I deffo prefer the English B&Q rug, can't get into the 70s retro thing personally. I found an old DIY book yesterday, had many rugs and wallpapers in the photos that would fetch £££s on Ebay today! But also had things like 'a dull ceiling can really let a room down, why not put up some beauty board (ie fake wood pannelling) to cosy it up a bit.'
Dizzy Have you tried Tesco and Asda's direct online/catalogue ranges?

Miamla · 28/04/2009 10:06

morning all, i was trying not to feed DS between 11 and 4 last night. Think first wake up was 11.30 so i gave him a top up and then he didn't wake again til 3 but then stayed awake til 4.30 yawn when i gave in and fed him. Am i just weak?! Actually, we have a fair stint at sleep last night during the middle bit!

ooh, i'm after more advice! keep forgetting to ask... does your DD/DS react the same during the night whether its you or your DH/DP that goes in to settle him/her?

DS wakes up a little bit upset, I go in and he stops as soon as he sees me. DP goes in and he screams and screams. DP picks him up and he screams even more. Conclusion is that i go in and take over because i can't bear to hear him crying

TS well done you on your mortgage deal and yes to asking him politely re moving the pile of rust. could you word it along the lines of "we were just wondering how long it was going to be there..."

steak glad your night worked out how it should have done

sazz lol re your wonky tastes!
