.... to you all, but especially MJ and SOL

Hope party goes well today SOL, my thoughts and prayers are with your mummy. So hard to see someone we love suffer. When are you seeing her next?? xx

3 is hard work RH; but I have to say; I wuold give P up for all the world - she is amazing!!

Had a rubbish day yesterday; got 3 points and a speeding fine for going 33 mph in a 30 zone Feel very cross and stupid

Ah well, everyone in my house is still sleeping and we've got DD2's Birthday Party tomorrow - picnic and a mobile farmyard - should be fun

runnyhabbit · 23/05/2009 09:10

Morning all

Sol - I'm not suprised you feeling down. Everything happening at once is bound to get to you. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that feels a bit sad when it comes to more dc. My hormones are def all over the place atm. We're seeing sil and our new nephew later today, so will be able to get all mushy, without the sleepless nights

MJ - Ikwym about the car. We got ours back last week, and what I though was a little scratch was nearly £1000 worth of work As long as you're ok, thats the main thing. Must be something in the air re; work. Bloody politics are everywhere. Def need to meet up soon for wine coffee and very large cake

Looks like it's going to be a lovely day, so we might head off to the beach.

Have a fab weekend x

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2009 10:13

SOL, it sounds like you are so stressed Hope the birthday party goes well.
MJ, hope you get the car stuff sorted and find time to relax this weekend.
When I picked T up last night they said he had woken up crying from his sleep but then been OK but then about 10 mins before I arrived had been crying and clingy. He was sick in the car before I even got off the nursery drive (see thread about how to remove car seat covers ) and then was sick a few times yesterday evening. Hasn't been sick since but still seems to have a fever so he's having a day in front of cbeebies.
Was very to learn that his latest new word is "Beebies" AH worries he watches too much TV...wonder why!

elkiedee · 23/05/2009 10:21

Just posting to say hi, hadn't realised it's so long since I last did

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2009 11:42

T has been sick again, has a temp of 39.8

MJreturns · 23/05/2009 14:57

Poor little T, hope he is better soon SPB. Lots of calpol and nurofen is in order!!

Runny, yes to coffee and cake. I have a week off work coming up in a couple of weeks so surely we can manage a few hours then?! It is so difficult to find time when we could both be around, especially when trying to juggle work and dc's!

CD, that is a harsh fine tbh. Most of the time you would have got off at 33mph. (My dad is an ex policeman and still works in the police station so he reckons they were a bit mean to you.) Hope you are ok.
It never rains but it pours does it.
Just as I thought I was sorting myself out financially I have £200 excess to pay for my car insurance claim. Great.

I have got the insurance sorted for the car. The insurance company have contacted the guy whose car I bumped to get his fixed, and mine is going in to be assessed on Tuesday afternoon. I have a horrible feeling that I have managed to displace the boot lid a little as I seem to have to slam it to get it to shut now. Oh well, it's only a car I suppose

Anyway, off now. Busy week coming up. Dh away for the whole week (half term of all weeks) so it's just me and the lo's.

StealthPolarBear · 23/05/2009 15:09

Didn't notice that Dippy, sorry.
April 07-ers are not having a good time of it at the moment!

Sexonlegs · 23/05/2009 20:30

Evening ladies

Dippy, quite stunned by your points and fine for going over by 3 mph. I always thought you were given a 10% lea-way so 33 mph would have been "ok".

SPB, poor T.How is he now?

MJ, sorry to hear about the car. What a pita. Hope you are ok xx Good luck for next week. Why is your dh away?

Runny, what a pita re your car bill Cars are a real money pit aren't they??

Well, all ok here. Thank you for your thoughts and support following my post last night. I cannot tell you how much you lovely ladies mean to me.

B had a great day and was so well behaved even though she was very excited. The party went well too, greatly helped by the fab wether. They had tea outside, so limited mess to clear up

Now utterly knackered and looking forward to bed!!

Hope everyone has had a good day. xx

elkiedee · 23/05/2009 22:31

Sorry to hear about all the stresses everyone's having.

SOL, hope B's party went well and that you've lived to tell the tale.

Grrrrr at the nursery Oooggs, and what are they playing at? I assume the subsidy means demand for places is high, but they've got at least a year from when Luke was born (and you presumably talked to them about it earlier) to plan, and the same three days each week shouldn't be that hard to sort out.

Sorry that your mum is finding it hard going with the chemo SOL.

Aaarrggh for you at the speeding fine and the pints CD. How long do the points last?

I've walked miles the last couple of days - yesterday I went to an exercise class which involves walking and some basic exercises on Hampstead Heath. I so don't do exercise, would never go to a gym etc so am surprised at myself but it makes it feel different just being outside and walking around (power walking that is). I am totally hopeless, back of the class, but I'm still going back for more, who would've thought it? We also walked part of the way there and back and joined in part of the Toddle Waddle put on by our local children's centres.

Today we went on a protest against job cuts in the area where dp works - they don't involve his employer at the moment directly (but that will probably come!) - and we also did quite a bit of extra walking there and then to go for some unhealthy food.

MJreturns · 23/05/2009 22:58

Lots of fresh air sounds good elkie, love the name Toddle Waddle

SOL, glad B's party went well. Hope you have had chance to rest this evening
Dh has gone to France for a week on a fishing holiday. He booked and paid for it ages ago (otherwise he wouldn't have been going as we wouldn't have been able to afford it!), and originally ds was meant to be going too, hence booking for half term week.
After much discussion we decided that ds was actually too little to go camping at a lake for a week to France. I was concerned that he would be bored and want to come home, and he would be too far away for me to go and pick up iykwim.
Ds is away for two days anyway. He went off with his aunt and uncle today and isn't coming back until Monday afternoon. The house feels very empty this evening which is very weird.

CaptainDippy · 24/05/2009 08:03

Glad party went well SOL

We had horrible night as P did her "it's 1am in the morning and I am not going back to sleep routine" Only happens about once a fortnight, but is horrid when it happens Poor DH slept in with her, love him.

Oh well DD2's Birthday Party today Pirates, Princesses and Fairies (I'm a fairy and DH is a princess pirate ) Mobile Farmyard too - can't wait!! DH has made fabulous sheep cake - Yey!

"never rains, but pours ..." Let's hope some good stuff happens for us asap, huh!!? xx

Right, shower .....

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2009 09:18

i hate bank holiday weekends
enjoy the party dippy

elkiedee · 24/05/2009 10:20

Hope the party goes well Dippy - and that you'll post pics of the sheep cake and the dressing up...

MJreturns · 24/05/2009 10:47

Dippy, cake pics please! Hope the party goes well

SPB, why do you hate bank holiday weekends?

Dropping F to my mum for a few hours later so that I can try and have a little sleep. Working nights again tonight. It shouldn't be so bad though as I have a friend who is also working so we are sharing a lift there and back.

See you later ladies xx

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2009 14:51

Hi everyone
Bank Holidays in general seem cursed for us at the moment - last one it was DH and his viral/eye thing, this time it's T and the incredible vomit He had some dry cereal an hour and a half ago and so far he's fine so hopefully he's on the mend. We're about to hoover through the house...just what you want to do on a sunny day Never mind, he's feeling better so I am much happier!

Northernlurker · 24/05/2009 17:21

Runny - why is two the perfect number for you? Three works for me

SOL - for you. B loves you very much and you love her but you don't always have to like one another. dd1 and I are having some wonderful rows atm - it's just the way we are made. It doesn't change the love.

Dippy - hard luck with the points!

Ooooh B has a poo that needs dealing with....

Doobydoo · 24/05/2009 18:07

Echo that NL
Sorry about your points Dippy.
Hope T on the mend SPB.
hOPE YOU ENJOYING THE PEACE mj!

Have good eve all.xxxxxxxx

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2009 18:14

Dooby how exciting! When are you planning to test?
T has relapsed

Northernlurker · 24/05/2009 18:41

Dooby - oooh that's exciting! Keep us informed....

SPB - just don't give him anything at all till the morning then a very little bit of dry biscuit then toast or plain crisps. He won't starve and his tummy is just feeling very bruised at the moment - he may want to eat if you offer it but it won't hurt him not to and it is the best way to let their insides recover.

Doobydoo · 24/05/2009 19:21

I agree with NL'S advicepoor little thing and you!
It is exciting and mad!
I am nearly 40![I know too many !!!!]i WOULD BE SCARED RE MY AGE AND POSS dOWN sYNDROME AND ALSO THAT i CAN'T SEEM TO POP EM POUT LIKE PEAS AND i NEED TO DO MY RETURN TO NURSING...WHICH i COULD DO...HAVE INTERVIEW IN jULY FOR oCT COURSE which ends early Dec.I can do it if I don't get SPD...and dp will be stay at home dad.
I would LOVE another...I think dp would too.
Am not yet late re period but have weirdywoo feeling.

StealthPolarBear · 24/05/2009 19:44

Dooby, definitely keep us informed!
Afraid he has already had yoghurt and cereal It wasn't the sckness that came back but the temperature and general listlessness. He's OK at the moment, so I'll see what tonight brings.
Anyone got any news (apart from the obvious!) as I'm bored, have been stuck in all weekend apart from a special treat - trip to tesco today!

Doobydoo · 24/05/2009 20:04

Ah yes the trip to tesco. We went today!
Milo asked for a cuggle todayso sweet..we were in tent in garden and he gave the 2 dogs a cuggle and then asked me to give him a cuggle
Had to google sleep patterns in 2 year old s as was worried M sleeping too muchseems like it is ok.Having had ds1 who slept through the night on his own for the 1st time when he was 4 and a half dp and I were worried as sometimes M asks to go to bed and can sleep from 6.3o to 7.3o and have a sleep in the day!!!!He calls his Iggle Piggle toy Piggle and cannot pronounce his F's or S's /Fireman Sam is Hireman Ham and His brother is Hinn not FinnI asked him if he could say F and he thought about it and said NO.xx

Eddas · 24/05/2009 22:34

dooby, he sounds so cute!

2 is a fab age, ds is wonderful at the moment, very affectionate and coming out with new words each day. Some of them are jibberish but when you understand what he's says his face lights up with his fab beaming smile and it makes my day he does pronunce a few words perfectly though, mainly things like CAKE! which is normally extremely clear lol! He is still calling dd mama which is a little odd but very cute! I keep offering to let her change his nappy as he calls her mama but oddly she says no Talking of dd she's 5 in 2 weeks crazy!

SPB, sorry T is unwell again, the poor little mite hope he's better in the morning. FWIW my doctor told me(when ds had chicken pox and I was worried as he hardly moved) that children that are ill just tend to not move around alot as they conserve their energy unlike us adults who carry on regardless as we have to, so try not to worry if he's not as lively as usual, hard I know.

Sexonlegs · 24/05/2009 22:46

Evening ladies

Exciting news from the Dooby camp then perhaps??!!! How exciting When is your af due?

SPB, poor T Really hope he is on the mend soon.

Dippy, how did the party go? The mobile farm sounds fab! I would like that for my own party!! Hope you get a better night tonight.

NL, lovely to see you, and thanks for your words. Daughters eh!!

MJ, can't believe you are working again. You must be shattered. Hope you get some rest tomorrow.

Had a great day here. Pottered about this morning and then went to the beach this afternoon.

See you all tomorrow. xx

runnyhabbit · 25/05/2009 08:47

Morning all

We have had a fantastic weekend. Been for lots of walks, swimming, and finished off with a bbq at pil last night. Sil and her family were down, and we've spent most of it with them. The boys were so excited to play with their cousin (she's 3 in July) and to meet baby George My nephew looks so much J at that age.

Spb - Hope T gets on the mend soon x

Dippy - Hope the party went well. Your parties always sound fab

MJ - Hope you managed to get some sleep before your shift last night.

NL - Ikwym about loving our dc but not always liking them. J hates it if I say that after he's been naughty. Fortunately I haven't had to say it very often

Dooby - How exciting Do you want us to keep our fingers crossed for a bfp?

Lol at how much our babies todders are talking. W can say quite a bit, but has a tendency to copy J. It's a little bit worrying, as J speech needs to improve (undergoing speech therapy atm, which is a thread in itself)

Have a lovely day all
