Happy birthday for tomorrow Kayz I really hope you have a lovely day. I would def write a stern letter the sunscreen company but just wanted to ask did you reapply after 2 hours? Always best to Slip Slop Slap. PMK will know what I'm talking about Slip on a shirt Slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat!

Veggiemummy · 22/04/2009 22:28

And 6 miles how long was the actual path without the short cut? Right just seen ZJs message so off to have a look?

Veggiemummy · 22/04/2009 22:40

ZJ the V box is the virgin cable one. You can only get virgin if there is cable in your area. We had sky in London. I'm not sure which is better. V has satanta included but sky has more HD channels although now Sky and virgin have made up I think V will be getting more of Skys channels. I'm not sure about BT. I would just go with whoever had the nest deal. They all seem to be trying to do good deals on phone, Internet and TV at the moment because of the credit crunch.

Oh and keep forgetting to say hooray to Trace on the sleep thing. Also have been meaning to ask what does CPN mean. I'm glad you are getting such good support from your doctor and that person whatever she is, it sounds quite good. It's such a brilliant thing that PND is taken seriously these days instead of just seen as women feeling a little down after birth.

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Kayz. Have a lovely one

MoM I think my cousin lives very close to you - we were there the other day. I hadn't realised how close E Dulwich was to us - maybe you and Sybil and I should have a coffee. Although if Syb is only free at 11:30 at night it could be a little tricky...

I can't remember who was talking about understanding what the babies are up to...but for the geeks among us (and I know we are many ) this book is ace. Really interesting.

Arti am glad to be any help at all. Am crossing fingers for you in hope it's finally gone. And hope you enjoyed your dinner. What a lovely thing to do for you.

pmk I don't know if you've sorted your nappy dilemma but we've always used moltex and neither DD or DS has had nappy rash or complained when they're wet. In face I often forget I haven't changed DD in ages . They're almost completely biodegradable as well so bit better on my conscience. Am going to use some cloth as well this summer though. Also waitrose bottom butter is excellent - it's just olive oil with chamomile and vanilla.

Veggie that's so lovely about DS cuddling you. DD is also really snuggly. And she has really pudgy feet at the moment. Which I love

Trace it's so so lovely to hear you sound so happy.

Also happy day in the Lal house as DH got a new job. He took a career break to look after DS while I went back to work. Am so proud of him as it's quite a step up and people* were a bit sniffy about him knackering his career by taking time out (whereas it would have been perfectly ok for me ).

his parents/boss/men at work* ** not men at work. I have no idea what they thought.

modernlove · 22/04/2009 22:59

Happy birthday for tomorrow Kayz. I think I found the fb group so I put a request in to join - so random request of someone with initials ck is me (as also don't want to post email address on here as it has my name in it!).

Wishing everyone good nights.

modernlove · 22/04/2009 23:03

PS Great news for Mr Lal. Congrats on the job.

waitinggirl · 22/04/2009 23:05

oh, lal - how i love that video. whatever happened to videos enacting out the lyrics of the songs? wonderful. just wonderful. thankyou.

lal07 · 22/04/2009 23:06

Drama through dance wg - it's a lost art.

sybilfaulty · 22/04/2009 23:10

Lal, am typing very slowly as have boob out ans reaching over. Would love coffee though may have assorted children in tow. Am now racking braib ti think of most family friendly place in E Dul, as there are many. Shall we emailto discuss? Coffee, not E dul. \mom, u on the email lust? Am noy a FB chick alas.

That tookme ages to type -you van see wht I cant post much!!

Veggiemummy · 22/04/2009 23:15

Right gotta go to sleep, pilates tomorrow. Buy just wanted to day hooray for Mr Lal. I bet DS will miss him, (and he DS) and well done on him taking the time out and proving that it was an excellent thing to do but not a career breaker.

MomOrMum · 22/04/2009 23:27

I'm not on the email list but can add myself somehow if poss?

Family friendly pub in E Dulwich. Hint - it has a climbing frame/play structure, or whatever you call those things in this country!

Very up for a southeast London coffee!

My Apprentice-watching snacks consisted of 3 kiwis, a huge bowl of strawberries dipped in chocolate sauce, a bowl of ice cream with the same chocolate sauce, and a glass of white wine. And I haven't showered since Monday. Can you tell my DH is away?

One-handed typing while expressing...blah!

lal07 · 22/04/2009 23:39

Great - MoM I'll find you on FB and then email you and Syb and we can fix. I vote for somewhere within pram pushing distance of that lovely sweet shop...

Veggie am actually a bit worried about how both of them will cope - especially DS. He really loves his Daddy. But in absence of trust fund (damn my feckless relatives) he does have to go back to work at some point and it's been bliss to have so much time together.

Right - everyone else asleep. I should be too. Night all.

pmk1 · 23/04/2009 00:33

Mom that's a good idea about the swimming -as I know these classes can get expensive, where is the pool you go to? I am in SW London but MIL is E so I'm often heading S at times!
I'd be interested if there is a mini SL meet up? Mom, Syb, Lal I'll check the FB group.
Daisy annoying about your smear - mine was today, and I got a bit worried as they do it differently here with the results (last few i've had in the USA) and they started telling be about not to worry even if I get an abnormal result as it's normally just mild and all that?? Never heard of that before, but i'm a worrier, so will have to research it!
Veggie lol @ slip, alop, slap! I just sang that recently to dh! He thought I was wacko - also sang the Tip Top Bread add for some random reason and he thinks it's hilarious and sang it out loud in Tesco on various occasions! "Good on you Mum, tip tops the one, good on you mum"! Love the ds huggy story... B does that too ow - well he holds on really tight when I carry him which is sweet
Lal thanks for the nappy link - seems to be sorted now with the Aloe Vera nappies at night an I always load up on the Barrier cream which seems to work great. Great news on Mr Lal's job.
Right - it's really late, must get to sleep!
Lastly Happy Birthday Kayz it's officially your birthday now - you baby of the bunch you make me feel old!!

lal07 · 23/04/2009 00:38

Aaargh can't sleep. Am reading about Budget in hope it would send me off but am just getting more and more alarmed by it all. DH gets mailouts from the labour party and the one from Alistair Darling includes this: The British people have remarkable qualities so I am confident we will get through this

Surely the least reassuring thing ever? I had no idea there was an option of not 'getting through this'. FFS

Maybe trying to visualise a trillion GBP will help...

lal07 · 23/04/2009 00:39

Sorry x-posted pmk. Absolutely to meeting up. More the merrier

tillyfernackerpants · 23/04/2009 07:09

pmk [[http://www.springhealth.net/richmond/index.html Richmond pool]. I love this pool as there is a separate teaching/children pool which is always kept warm. I think the swimming lessons there are around £60 but I can check today how much & when they are. Tbh, I'll be happy to just go along though, I did Little Dippers with ds1 so think I can remember what we did!

lal congratulations on MrLal's job! Lol at the leaflet quote, as if that sentence is going to get us all on side!

Kayz happy birthday , have you got anything special planned?

sybil thanks for keeping us up to date with V, glad to hear she's ok.

zj yes dandelions thriving here as well, think that's a lot to do with ds1 blowing the clocks off every time he finds one!

Sorry I can't remember anything else, ds2 was up every hour or so from 2am last night so still haven't caught up on sleep from the night before. Am a bit worried about driving today! I'll be glad when the marathon's over & done with & then dh can start to do his share again. I can see it now, 'yes dear, well done on running 26 miles in 5 hours, here are the boys, see you later'!

tillyfernackerpants · 23/04/2009 07:14

Richmond pool, try again

tillyfernackerpants · 23/04/2009 07:17

Btw, haven't watched the apprentice yet so no spoilers please!

Kayzr · 23/04/2009 07:20

Morning,

Thanks for the birthday wishes. My best friend is taking me for lunch and then we're going out for dinner tonight. DH has his first day at work today too.

DS2 slept all night!!! Which I really needed after my walk.

Veggie We reapplied it every 1.5 to 2 hours, no hat though as he refuses and screams and pulls it off. We lost one in the river in York last year!! It is 2 miles to the garden centre along the main road but the short cut road was 4 miles!! I did get to see lots of cute little lambs!!

sybilfaulty · 23/04/2009 07:43

Pmk - there is a direct train betwee n Wimbledon and E Dulwich so you can nip over here at speed. Anyone else fancy a SE London coffee? If it's nice like this we could picnic in Dul park which is gorgeous.

I shall text V and mention to her, as there is also very handily a direct train between her house and my house.

Happy birthday Kayz, you lovely young thing you. Are you 23? If so you would have been born in 1986 (the year I took my O levels, as they then were!) God I am so old. But you are young, vibrant and fabulous. Have a wonderful day.

Kayzr · 23/04/2009 07:43

I am 23 today yes. I feel about 50 though!!

sybilfaulty · 23/04/2009 07:45

I am only 11 years off being 50 - think how old I feel

daisydora · 23/04/2009 07:54

Happy birthday Kayz!

DS up every 2 hours last night. Plus he has taken to biting my nipples when feeding so they are killing me! Seriously its like the first few weeks all over again. I blame the teething, but DH reckons he's frustrated and needs solids He's almost 5 months and I really wanted to wait till he was 6 month but I might just try him with a bit of carrot or something and see how he goes. I hate the thought of weaning it means my little man is getting all grown up He'll be starting school before I know it

Kayzr · 23/04/2009 08:18

Oh and MIL thinks we should be weaning DS2 now due to his size I think DS1 agrees as he just tried to shove a crumpet in DS2's mouth. Not sure that is a good first food.

Nolda · 23/04/2009 08:44

Just a quick one to wish Kayz a very happy birthday .

Hopefully back later once I've taken DD to pre-school.
