Well I hear the Easter Bunny has a good supply of them but you have to place your order before tomorrow night.

CaptainCaveman · 10/04/2009 18:45

Only one wake up at 2.30am!!! Actually thats a lie. he woke 3 times after being put to bed, and dh and I took it in turns just to shh him back to sleep. Usually he wakes around 11.30 to feed. Maybe he got the message?! So, I planned to feed him at 11 ish but then not again til morning. So I ended up feeding him when he woke at 2.30. Then he slept from 3.15 til 8.30. cool!

Off to the pub tonight Grandma is sitting

Cavey Great news on the sleep front, excellent teamwork you and your DH.

Sibh Fantastic news, see my storm-in-a-teacup vibes worked. Anyone else need psychic healing from Madame Bouquets? Don't think the tingling is iron or folic acid in my case though as I had many tingly numb migraines during pregnancy, the one time I know those 2 particular levels are fine.

TS My sister decided to play Russian Roulette and come off the pill the day her DH had the snip! I was as she's the most rational person I know! No babies appeared though.

On that subject I have just had mmiscounted some dates and thought for a second I was a week late, OMG my heart stopped.

Another lovely day, more lazy though with a lie in, friend to visit, kids all being just so happy and enjoying each other's company so much. DH is out so I made myself a chicken risotto and ended up having 2 chicken breasts in it. Pre-menstrual, moi?

If anyone fancies another Bristol meetup, I'm going to be in a free mass choir concert at Harbourside Amphitheatre Sat 27th June at 1pm. If anyone fancies coming to watch (it will blow your socks off btw - 500 people singing in harmony a capella) I will be in need of coffee afterwards.

hotcrosspotter · 10/04/2009 23:16

Crikey it's been quiet on here today

Buckets LOL I guess that's confirmed you want to stick to 3 DCs! Would love to come to Bristol, it's gert lush, but sadly too far away for a day trip

Sibhthat's fantastic news . Hope they can get your symptoms under control.

ALBS hope you are fully recovered from the picky sleepover guest

CC hope you have had a fab night out tonight

TS no chocolate???????? But it's Easter . DS has got a chocolate bunny from MIL, have already told her it's mine all mine . She has also bought him a fluffy seal [wtf]. I could understand fluffy duck/chick/bunny/lamb but seal??? Oh well

Better go to bed now, I am having a 'surprise' party tomorrow for my birthday, bless DH he's organised it all but there is bathroom and other cleaning to be done before friends arrive, and it's my turn to get up early in the morning

Sweet dreams all

TwilightSurfer · 10/04/2009 23:45

Happy Early Birthday Hotter!!!

Buckets I don't think rational and hormonal are jointly possible. LOL! Oh and I'll be in Bristol in June....Bristol, Virginia. ha ha

Tornados all around here today. Just got a text from my girlfriend in Dunlap (20min North of me). The tornado there missed them. Not sure how. Blink and you miss the town driving by. It hit during her daughter's 8th birthday party so I'm sure it was scary. Their having lunch with us tomorrow so I'll probably get all the details. Another tornado hit about a mile from my brother's house in Murfreesboro (75min North of me). My brother was able to reach my dad shortly after it hit. He said they were at a gas station one exit up from where the tornado crossed the interstate. He could see it pass. That's not a very comforting statement but he and the kids are fine. I'm still waiting on damage reports locally. Lots of trees were knocked over and power was out for 15000 customers....including us. DH was on his mobile checking service calls (he works for the power company) while I was on the phone calling older family members to see if they needed assistance. Needless to say it was quite the exciting Good Friday.

Hope all is well across the pond.

Steaknife · 11/04/2009 07:46

Cold apple crumble for brekker - but am off the the boulangerie in a bit for croissant and pain au chocolat if you can hold out.

Buckets the concert sounds fab, I used to live in Bristol but moved to London just after it had the horny bridge put in but before it got really tarted up.

HCP lol at gurt lush.

TS tornados sound scary - I hope all you and yours are safe.

I need a plan. A plan for getting baby back to sleep in the night.
She took a bit longer to settle last night, probably cos I sneezed as I was about to put her in her cot, but I will tell DH it is because she is teething. She slept till around 2.30 then chuntered for a bit so I got up to feed her around 3. She wasn't hungry but was quite happy to comfort suck, but not at all sleepy. DH came to help about 4.15 gave up half an hour later and at 5 I found him in the sitting room and baby in the cot - guess which was asleep. So baby in the bed with me for the rest of the night.
DH is convinced it is because she is going to bed "too early" [bashing head against brick wall emoticon]
I am 100% positive it is not that, we just haven't got a good system to get her back to sleep - v frustrating as she used to go back to sleep by herself after a feed.

Sorry to start the day with a moan and all, sooooooooooooooo wotchoo all doing this weekend?
We have big family meal to attend tomorrow - first time babysteak will have met the extended french-in-laws. eek

simnel303 · 11/04/2009 08:39

morning steak - if you dont mind I'll have apple crumble now and stick around for the bakery goodies too...[greedy emoticon]

ts lol at 'mn desk', love that blue btw

well, after ds's stupendous 6 hour sleepathon we've had 3 utterly crap nights and we are back to knackered and grumpy. I am because I was hoping we could get some diy done so we no longer live in a building site. Humpf

oopsahotcrossbunny · 11/04/2009 08:41

Are you back yet steaky?? I think it must be a phase they go through this waking in the night - DD used to sleep through until she was teeything - now it seems it's just habit!

CC - well done on the sleeping/settling you inspired me to try it - So I fed dd when she first woke at 1.30 then refused when she woke at 3.30 I patted, rubbed and stroked until 4.10 when she fell asleep again and she woke at 7.20 I put her in bed with me and she slept until 8.10

VG - Hoping DS2 has done the sleep thing again for you.

Sazzles - I have never been to Slimbridge - Wasn't sure what was there, apart from ducks.

Buckets - I would be up to come and watch you

oopsahotcrossbunny · 11/04/2009 08:44

Sorry had to post as computer is playing sillies and didn't want to lose my post.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HP** hope you have a fab day

hotcrosspotter · 11/04/2009 08:45

Sounds like a fun day Steaky, and I'll hold out for a pain au chocolat please .

No advice re the sleeping, had a night a bit like that myself although thankfully not so bad. DS woke crying at only 10pm, managed to cuddle him back to sleep. He then slept till 5am at which point I got him in bed with me. I was full to bursting with milk, thought he would have a good feed then pass out again but no, he fed and whined and wriggled and shouted for an hour and a half [grrr]. Finally dozed off at about half six, then awake for the day at 7.15. I always just fed him to sleep for an easy life, but if that is no longer working I don't know where to go!

Have got lots of friends coming this afternoon for a belated birthday party then off to my mum's tomorrow for some yummy food

TS hope the wind has dropped and you are having a peaceful night

hotcrosspotter · 11/04/2009 08:48

Thanks Oops for my cake, sorry if I've tricked you into thinking it's my birthday today, it was last week but having my party today . Sounds like you had a good night, well done DD!

Simnel sorry your DS has not been so good . Take comfort though that he has done it and he will do it again and the frequency of good nights will increase, I promise

oopsahotcrossbunny · 11/04/2009 08:55

TUT TUT HP, leading us on like that - I must have blanked your birthday last week HAPPY UNBIRTHDAY TO YOU instead!- have a great party

hotcrosspotter · 11/04/2009 08:59

Oops you made me a cake last week . Don't you remember, I'm 40 now

oopsahotcrossbunny · 11/04/2009 09:01

Oh Lordy - I really am losing my mind - I just read back and found my post I blame it on the gin(or not enough of it!)

hotcrosspotter · 11/04/2009 09:06

No you can blame it on DC, they suck your brain out with the breast milk I swear . Can barely remember my own name some days...

Being kicked off by DD now, she wants her cbeebies game on the laptop. Note to those of you whose DC don't yet know about the cbeebies website - DONT EVER TELL THEM

Eggspectant · 11/04/2009 09:32

HCP am pleased by that theory. At the pool party on Wednesday I popped upstairs to put DS in his cot for a nap when I got back poolside I was happily chatting to one of the other Mums and happened to ask whether one of our other friends had already left. She pointed out that she was still sitting 2 seats away from me

Just been to Underwater World with DS they have one of those moving carpet things and the fish swim overhead - he loved it. I think he might have a sore neck tomorrow!

Oh Sazzles hope you and Emma feel better soon. We did tying DD down for a long while now she just wriggles out the top

DD has just rolled from back to front for the first time - EVENTUALLY!!!

Steaky/Hotter I also feed to sleep quite alot too - although sometimes she doesn't fall asleep feeding then she goes down awake.

Off into town to buy new tights for DD she has finally grown out of her 0-3 ones.

Steaknife · 11/04/2009 12:05

Sazzles - sorry you and E are poorly.

I still feed to sleep - it works so I'm not stopping anytime soon, but I might try the pat shhsh stuff for when she won't settle back. Rekon that will be hard, but harder to convince DH that it will work.

Not a great start here, DH grumpy from lack of sleep and been snapping at me all morning so when we were all ready to go off to the supermarket I just got out and let him go off and do it all by himself.
But have also done a mamoth cleaning and laundry session so he can't accuse me of mning the whole time.

Why does he think it is okay to be rude to me just cos he is tired or fed up? FFS he kicked me and Izzy out of bed at 8 so he could have a lie in and then complained she was crying while I was in the loo. Grrr and grr and grr and grr.
And I know he will have gone to PILs to take back a drill so will probably get fed there.

Right apple crumble for lunch for me.
