Sazzles, Emma does things in her own sweet time. Hugs to dd1.

Miamla · 08/04/2009 00:02

evening all, just spent a few hours catching up and can't remember much of what i've read

DS has got his third tooth emerging. its a top one so i'm really hoping he doesn't start using it to bite me!

my cousin went home this afternoon but it was a successful trip for her..we've designed her prom dress and bought the fabric. I'm really looking forward to making it for her.

i think DS finally starting to calm down enough for sleeping soon so i'm going to go bedward

Miamla · 08/04/2009 00:03

sazz hope dd1 better in the morning

longwayfromhome · 08/04/2009 00:06

Thanks for the salt and toothbrush replies. shocking night last night. Nice time in the park this afternoon. Not much more news. Sympathy to the poorly SazzlesDD.

longwayfromhome · 08/04/2009 00:07

hi miamla!

Eggspectant · 08/04/2009 03:16

Hi All,

Pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast here.

Had some lovely news from an old school friend of mine who has been ttc for ages and both her and her DH have had lots of problems has just told me she's 10 weeks pg after her first round of IVF. She's coming to the christening next month so will be good to see her.

DH and I went to see the Kaiser Chiefs yesterday evening which was fun - we don't get many decent bands coming to Singapore plus I don't remember the last time I went to a concert.

DS cough still lingering and he has been sleeping really really badly (awake every 2 hours on Monday night). I resorted to bringing him into bed with us last night as was really tired after Monday night and the concert and I had to wake him at 7.30 so I could feed him and get to work - hmmm.

Having a pool party this afternoon at ours - about 10 mums and babies. Only 2 weeks on Friday till we come home

On the work front I was adamant that I was going to be a SAHM especially as I was only entitled to 3 months maternity leave here and I hated my job when I left to have DS. But I really like my boss and quite like the company and when he came up with the offer of working part time doing something slightly different I had to consider it and here I am after 2 months being back already. I'm now quite glad as if I'd left it any longer I wouldn't have had a job given the industry I'm in and would have found it a lot more difficult later on or even back in the UK. What I do find difficult is the feeling that when I'm home in the afternoon and weekends with Sam is that I need to spend every minute with him and so other than work (which I don't think counts) I don't get any time to myself which is something I really need.

On the feeding front VG and Poppy DS is with your LOs and probably wouldn't notice if I didn't offer any milk.

Eggspectant · 08/04/2009 03:37

Yikes that was long and as you are all (hopefully) in the land of nod I suppose I'm talking to myself (again)...

Sazzles sorry to hear DD1 still sick

Steaknife · 08/04/2009 07:49

Just posting quickly to say that I'm still here!

DD sleeping better as I put her on early bedtimes - bath at 6, soothed till 7 then down with a bit of cc as necessary.
Thursday she slept the whole night and since then has only woken once for a feed each night, getting her back to sleep is still a bit hit and miss, so I try and if she doesn't go down after a half hour or so I put her down and leave it up to DH. He usually gets up after 10 mins of her grumbling and puts her to sleep.
Not the most diplomatic of solutions but it works.

Feed wise - Izzy takes pretty much the same milk feeds with a bit of breakfast, some elevenses, lunch and a bit of something at 4pm. A proper little chubber she is.

Still no rolling but we did have a "da da da" yesterday.
Very exciting.

No teeth but two on the way, but she doesn't seem bothered by them in particular. I have the bonjella on stand by.

Right got to go her highness demanding some entertainment.

simnel303 · 08/04/2009 07:54

morning ladies

thanks for breakfast eggspectant, glad you managed to get out to a concert, pool party sounds amazing, I hope you have a wonderful time

sazzles poor dd1 I hope she is better this morning

I keep forgetting to brush ds's teeth [bad mummy emoticon] At least I have you guys to remind me

miamla sounds like a lovely project you've got there. I finally cleared our spare room of boxes/crap and set up my sewing machine ready for the big curtain project starting today

Felix slept through the night!!! For the first time ever!! Well, that's the official sleeping through calculation of 6 continuous hours, not the mythical 7 to 7 thingamybob. The 6 hours were from 00.20 to 06.30 when dp went to check if he was still alive and woke him . Wow. I thought it was going to be a horror night cos ds had 2 x 20 min naps all day then woke crying at 9pm and 10pm with his teeth. Good thing too as I have booked swimming at 9.30am

I have also arranged to go into work in 2 weeks as my team are replacing our software and they want my involvement. It will be the longest time I have ever left ds - 10 hours

Steaknife · 08/04/2009 07:58

With regard to work - wish I had some to go back to. Until my French improves I am a bit restricted to anything here but my ideal would be WFH doing writing/marketing with some time to pursue my craft/sewing ideas.

I have been using one of those online freelance sites, but you end up competing with some bod in India that charges a dollar an hour, so you end up spending lots of time submitting work bids for naff all result, think I might knock it on the head.

I do have some small commissions from a friend of a friend in the UK - so fingers crossed that will come to something. Which reminds me I should email all my old work friends to see if they need anything doing.

Right better go and get the day started properly.

Hope you all have a good one.

alittlebitshy · 08/04/2009 08:11

Morning: simnet yay for f. that is fantastic! May it continue

got to go ds wailing for brekker and i suspect dd is pretty hungry too

oopsahotcrossbunny · 08/04/2009 08:17

Morning all

I have my mum staying so have been being all pathetic and small childlike! She is so fab and doting and unlike MIL I don't have a problem with her taking DD from me and playing with her elsewhere in the house whilst I mn rest or get things done. We are off some where for a picnic weathe permitting.

DD is still feeding alot and never refuses unless she has had a big meal. On the food side - she is not keen on breakfast as she often has a big feed at 6.30/7 ish but will often eat at 10am ish which puts lunch off to 2pm when she will eat a reasonable meal with 1 or 2 BF in the middle then a BF at 4ish and dinner at 6ish then bf at bed and the last few night a BF at 11, 2, 6 in the night. I am hoping this is a growth spurt and the night feeding goe back to 1 a night.

Sazzles - HUGS to you and DD2

Eggspectant and LWFH - 'Hi'

DD has her own toothbrush and a little baby toothpaste we were given from South africa which is all natural ingredients and she loves the taste.

Gotta go my boiled egg and soldiers have arrived.

oopsahotcrossbunny · 08/04/2009 08:17

Moring Steaky and Simnel - it took so long to post I managed to x-post.

PetitFilou1 · 08/04/2009 08:38

sazzles Got your messages and texted you back but having looked on here am assuming you are not coming. Think we will still go as nothing else organised - currently thinking about it as very tired - but better than staying in. Hope dd1 is better today.

Ts Yes I think that is the link but seems to ask me to log in? Will look back later - dcs trying to kill each other (already)

Steaknife · 08/04/2009 09:46

Right, baby asleep in pram on terrace (I love our terrace)laundry in the machine, hall floor swept and clothes scattered all over the bedroom. Sorted!

Gah baby awake - quickly someone tell me - baby is constipated, I have been trying to give her more water and have been giving her lots of pear as I read here that that was good. More suggestiong please to get things moving - am doing leg wiggling etc too.

ta v much.

alittlebitshy · 08/04/2009 09:47

oops oh isn't it lovely when your own mummy comes to help and be a mummy to you (and the dc)?! I know so mnay people round here who live so close to their parents and don't realise how lucky they are that they have a babysitter/helper etc on the doorstep....

Going to Bluewater today. meeting sil and niece (2.4) and nephew (6 months). should be nice even if we're resignedto not actually getting much shopping done. Am getting there before I'm meant to meet her as dd and i have 3 items we want/need. Summer jackets for the dd and me and a hello Kitty toy for dd (essential ). Bit nervous about the drive (hate driving) and also that ds will be a grump in the pushchair.

Miamla · 08/04/2009 09:56

lwfh hiya, sorry i ignored you last night. DP wanted his laptop back so i typed and ran! Keep forgetting to thank you re no cry sleep solution. i have got it, bought it months ago but to say i'm still only half way through. But, thank you for the reminder, i'll dust it off and have a read

oops boiled eggs and soldiers?? you really are being looked after by your mum!

simnel sounds like a good plan! so will you be posting a photo of the finished curtains this afternoon?

cyteen · 08/04/2009 10:41

Morning all

simnel do congratulate DS for me, well done that boy! We had a decent night too once Joe had come in with us - poor little sausage woke up at 10pm all grotted up and having wet through his PJs, so we just put him in with us and he was happy as larry snuggling up to us

Sazzles sending get well vibes to your DD1

Hang on, wailing baby upstairs - back shortly.

I am so crap at keeping up...so in brief -

  • Oliver has 2 teeth (bottom 2)
  • he can now sit up unaided
  • thankfully NOT crawling
  • rolls everywhere instead
  • still hasn't slept through the night
  • is finishing being breastfed at the end of this week (obv he doesn't know that yet!)

AND

  • the packing boxes have arrived
  • we don't have a date for moving yet
  • I'm still knackered
  • I miss you all
  • Work gets in my mn way
  • must try harder!
