sibh I have to admit to loving Tadgh which would go well with Dara?

do you know if its a boy or a girl? wishing her well either way and how nice for DS to have a wee cousin on his birthday.

sorry you can't make the meet - shall use it as an excuse to come back again very soon though and its all for a good cause

oopsacoconut · 01/04/2009 22:45

SIBH - please to hear you have appointment in place and you are no longer tinglling.

Off to bed now in hopes of a sleep filled night (or at least more than 2 hours in a row.)

Sleep tight all.

dizzychixies · 01/04/2009 22:47

I like that too Dizzy. She has a girl's name and doesn't know the sex, but the name thing is tricky because her DH who teaches through Irish has decided he doesn't like names that are too Irish because Dsis says them wrong. Also, her SILs have used up about 20 of the best Irish children's names between them.

Have a very lovely holiday.

Sibh · 01/04/2009 22:59

'Too Irish' is BIL's phrase. Talk about having a convoluted position on names ...

DS has had to be coached on the merits of sharing a birthday and the work on that is ongoing.

I must go. DH is doing the excessive MN face.

LoveBuckets · 02/04/2009 08:08

How about something old mannish then, like Fred, Alf or Frank?

LoveBuckets · 02/04/2009 08:12

Morning all btw. I am so ahead of schedule today I don't know how that's happened. Walking to our old neighbourhood with Kurt for an NCT coffee morning straight after schoolrun so have had to have everything ready by 8.20! DH suggested taking the unsecured car so at least I'll be near it - I reminded him why we moved from our old neighbourhood and he conceded the point

Proper coffee and freshly baked pineapple and banana muffins all round (2 lots of fruit makes it zero Weightwatchers points doesn't it?)

simnel303 · 02/04/2009 08:46

wow I think some of that sleepy dust oops was sprinkling about a few days ago finally drifted over here - ds went from 8 to 1am then after a short feed slept til 6am. I feel 100% amazing . Good job too as I have swimming booked for 11.30. Oops, hope you had a better night and dd is on the mend. We have taken advantage of the time change to implement an idea of my sister's and put ds to bed at 8pm not 7pm - she says on the continent babies do not go to bed at 7pm, it's usually 8 cos that means they are more likely to go through til 6 or 7 rather than waking at 5am. She lives in Switerland atm and before that was in France - this 7 to 7 thing is apparently peculiarly British.

buckets very sorry to hear of the problems you are having with the professionals who should be helping you, sounds very upsetting and frustrating

sibh glad your symptoms have abated a bit. Love your friend's dc's name Dara, fab.

simnel303 · 02/04/2009 08:50

mmm muffins, thanks - yummy!!

PetitFilou1 · 02/04/2009 09:28

buckets Hope you are feeling better today. How old is ds now? Potty training is bad enough with boys who don't have sn - I feel for you.

After becoming totally exhausted yesterday dh came home and did everything and we ordered pizza so I am feeling slightly better today - but still very tired. Didn't manage to make ds1's easter hat though - then did most of it this morning with him (luckily) thinking it was for Friday. Then went in this morning to find everyone bringing their beautiful (parent made) creations in - thought feck it and rushed home, stuck some more feathers on it, chucked Toby in bed and ran back to school hoping he would be ok (please no-one call social services). I am so crap at this atm! Anyway at least he did most of it himself and it wasn't a Tesco bought kit either.

PetitFilou1 · 02/04/2009 09:30

sibh btw my dh has had numb hand and arm tingling for ages. Neurologist said he had 'acute demylenation (?sp) of the nerve' as could find nothing on the MRI. Basically he has ripped the outer sheath off a nerve (during a fall - dh remembers it as was in a lot of pain) and it is very slow growing so takes a long time to come back. Maybe another theory?

oopsacoconut · 02/04/2009 09:59

PF - relax about it - you cannot do everything for everyone all at the same time. We all know you are a great mum but doing it alot of the time without any assistance is hard work.

Well lastnight was a nightmare, DD developed a croupy cough at about 11pm and by 12.30 and vomited 4 times with coughing. Dh came in at 11 and offered to take her but he has a big meeting today and needed to be all sparkly and shiny. He did take her at 7 when she woke and left me to sleep. She only coughs when lying down so is currently napping in her bouncy chair which finally has a use!

Muffins Thanks Buckets. We are in your neck of the woods today as DH's meeting is in the centre of Southampton - more clients that haved invited us all to tea and want to meet DD - can you tell they are not English??

Going to see if I can steal a shower and have asked the builders to watch DD, which I'm not sure is clever.

And just back again! 10 babies, 10 mums and 2 dads at teagroup so we are switching to pub lunches next time. Woohoo, means I can come in the holidays and bring the other two along.

Oh and MY DH GOT THE JOB!!! Starts in 4-6wks. O frabjious day, kalloo kallay, one more thing to cross off my worry list.

What glorious weather, Southampton definitely not to be visited in the rain Oops, you are lucky.

Simnel, that late bed thing makes sense I guess as they do tend to have dinner later don't they? Plus long late lunches and siestas etc.

PF I'm guessing you live pretty near school LOL.

OMFG DS1 has just brought me one of DH's antidepressant pills!!! He said he wanted them to go in his Wall-e Pez toy (which makes sense) so he pushed the chair over and got them down from the kitchen shelf and popped it out. Says he hasn't eaten any and I believe him, think his bringing it to me was a recognition that he might need permission. We had been talking about how some medicines might make you poorly on the way home. Heart is now pumping at what might have happened and thought of DS1 being stuck in a bad trip. Or Kurt hoovering them up somewhere.

AnnVan · 02/04/2009 14:01

Hello again everyone! I'm sitting here with a numb face as have been to dentist today. Have to go back in 6 months.

simnel303 · 02/04/2009 14:04

just back from my swim - hopped on the scales at the leisure centre and was taken aback to learn that I am 7 stone 2lbs...informed the staff the scales are at least 2 stone out

the creche ladies pronounced ds a perfect angel, and I had to agree

sazzles enjoy your swim

congrats to mrlovebuckets but how scary about those pills...hope you find somewhere safe for them

off to browse some fishcake recipes for tonight...

simnel303 · 02/04/2009 14:05

hi ann

hotcrosspotter · 02/04/2009 14:12

Ann glad your dentistry is over and done with for a while

Buckets yay for your DH . Hope you have calmed down from the tablet. I do know how you feel, when DD was about 18 months old she came toddling up to me clutching a blister pack of paracetamol with some missing and white crumbs round her mouth I nearly had a heart attack on the spot. Raced her upstairs to try and make her sick, didn't work (just meant she wouldn't let me look in her mouth for about a year LOL) so phoned NHS direct in a panic. Luckily she'd only eaten one and that wasn't too big a dose thank flip. We are very good and keep all medicines out of reach, but these were in my handbag

Sazz enjoy your swim

PF I won't tell, sometimes you've just got to do these things Just don't say it anywhere else on MN or you will be torn to shreds. Sisterhood eh?

Simnel glad you got some sleep . DS slept from 8.30pm till 4.30am but then was awake and whining at 5 and playing in his cot at 6 so I had to bring him into bed then to keep him quiet.

Oops hope DD is feeling better

Well I've the house almost to myself so better get out and plant some seeds while DS naps. Can't believe it's my last day of being in my thirties. I'm not old enough to be 40, nooooooooo

cyteen · 02/04/2009 16:06

Well done MrBuckets - this one's for you

Miamla · 02/04/2009 17:31

This just wont' do. The thread has fallen off my threads I'm on list again - in fact there were NO threads I was on!

Just briefly, I spoke to my colleague today, who also happens to be a HV. I was asking her whether Oliver could be 'banned' from feeding at night, given that he is on 3 meals plus 2 snacks per day.....She said of course he can! I kind of knew that anyway, I just wanted to check. So, sometime soon I shall be refusing to feed him when he wakes at night. I guess next week would be a good time, what with having 4 days off over Easter.

Back later for a proper catch up - I hope!!
