Hi everyone

we have been out all day walking to and from places at it has been fantastic. We popped into the breastfeeding cafe, walked to DH to take him his lunch, then into town and finally home 5 hours after we left!

I think me feet are going to fall off. DD happy and not nearly as whingy and clingy as she has been. But now wants a feed so back in a bit.

hotcrosspotter · 01/04/2009 17:20

Has been a lovely day here, and managers finally satisfied with my application, yippee . Might even treat myself to a small glass of something once the DC are in bed

Ann LOL you are paranoid about thread killing

Oops glad DD is feeling better

Poppy I have just enough fingers to count weeks till I go back, well including thumbs, but that is still a fifth of a year so not really too bad. In fact my maternity leave runs out on Sunday , thankfully I had loads of leave saved, and it will be nice to be properly paid again

Ah I have company! We've got some upset here, as a group has been started on fb wanting 'justice' for Jimmy Mizen's murderer. (Jimmy's brother tommy is a friend of dp and his younger sister) outrageous! MIL is fuming, but says the group's claims are ridiculous.

AnnVan · 01/04/2009 17:31

Oops well done on that walk!!
HP excellent news on the job app - good luck!

LoveBuckets · 01/04/2009 17:54

Hi just popping in, have been stressed (about not much actually) and shattered the last day, so much time spent playing FB games to try and clear my head and spent whole of last night in bed watching tv. Will try and check back in, catch up etc tonight.

Miamla · 01/04/2009 18:48

hi all
had a lovely day. DS was v well behaved and just watched while i had my hair cut. then went over to see albs and we've had a lovely afternoon of babies playing thumping each other, drinking tea and a walk in the park in the sunshine

oh, if she thinks of uploading the photo of me that she took this afternoon she needs to have another think about it In my defence (in case she does upload it!) I was playing with her DD...honest!

i keep forgetting to ask.. are there any other babies out there that don't like poo-ing either lying down or sitting? DS always stands for his now! i've got visions of potty training him with him standing on the toilet seat!

yes albs I think we need to see that photo now

buckets hope you are ok, sometimes you just need to switch off and tv is perfect for a bit of mind numbing

hotpot well done on getting an A+ on your application form

just finished dinner, had a glass of white and feel unbelievably tipsy... the room is practically spinning!

ds is so cute atm, he is so full of life and interested in everything - even a shadow fills him with excitement and joy, think I'm in love!

we had some good naps today too, I put him in his cot and kept going in to shush him and do chores and eventually he went to sleep each time.

her new phone is indeed very funky! i'm not at all jealous!

LoveBuckets · 01/04/2009 22:07

Back again. Wish I had chocolate or wine in the house, kalhua it is then. Ugh, my last couple of days:

Got really pissed off yesterday re DS1's paediatrician and trying to get help with his nappies and poo issues. Just felt so let down and and really teary, tired and tetchy all day. Things now moving today but the lovely ladies on the Special Needs thread say I'll really have to push, shout and sob at them to get the free nappies he's now eligible for. Have decided to cut paed out of the loop altogether as she does nothing for us, will communicate only on paper. In the meantime I'm starting a new experiment on DS with proper expensive probiotics, as recommended by Mumsnetters.

Then today I lock my keys in the car again, luckily after removing the baby this time. Smash the window, book replacement fitting tomorrow (another £180!!) all v calm but embarrassed and then DH tells me the RAC would have come out and tried something less drastic. I had no idea we were even with the RAC let alone they might come out for things like that!

What else, saw the acclaimed Wendy & Lucy at the cinema today and it was really crap, all the mums at the cinema were stunned that it ended where it did (ie having no plot whatsoever.) Wish I'd opted for The Damned United now, although having less than zero interest in football, Cloughie does seem to have had some good lines.

On the bright side, all 3 kids have been good as gold and DH has clearly sensed that sarcasm, teasing or unkindness are unwise. Oh and Kurt LOVES grilled mackerel, did a double take and grinned at me in amazement when he picked a bit off his tray and tasted it.

Hope you guys have had better days. Get well soon Poppy, good work Marcus.

dizzychixies · 01/04/2009 22:13

oh oh, I knew I had something to tell you all - we tried Dylan in her stage 2 car seat today and she loved being up high and seeing everything

I also put DD1's very first car seat in the tip

oops am writing a to do list for the morning if that helps?!?

oopsacoconut · 01/04/2009 22:40

OOh am very envious on new car seat Dizzy - DD will love one she is SO nosey.

List is good - just the one??? or one for suitcases, one for in the car or one for each girl - in car and in suitcase.

Sibh · 01/04/2009 22:41

Buckets, that is not 'not much' in my book. How depressing not to get support on an issue that is basic to DS's dignity. Blast the unhelpful paed. That just isn't fair.

Did your DH hear about the work transfer by they way?

-the mention of Kahlua makes me flashback to one horrific night when I was 22. Why won't embarassing memories just expire?

Hotter - fab news on the application. I hereby award you the job.

Better news here in that I have a neurologist appointment at the local hospital next Thursday (bad news because of the Aug08 Irish meetup though ). I'm v. confused now about what the v. long waiting list reports everywhere actually refer to.

VG - it is great to hear that your mum has had such a positive experience. that she is coming home to such bad news though. It will be hard to lose that link to your dad for all of you ...

I see my grandad so much in my DS though - it is funny the way people reflect each other in families.

Thanks for the link to that report too and for taking to time to investigate for me. that is so kind We don't have private cover as DH was only being paid on a provisional rate until recently and so its only since he got his back pay last month that we've been in a position to get cover.

If I take it out now, I'll be paying premiums but under the waiting period rules it would be 5 years before I could claim for a pre-diagnosed condition (26 for 'new conditions' developed after taking out a policy)- it's how they maintain the single rate of cover I guess.

Still, at least I can make some progress next week, and have DH with me as it is the easter holidays. DS has an eye appointment on Wed so it will be a very medical week.

PF My uncle has Menieres and so it is a possibility though I know he has excruciating ear pain. Certainly something to consider. Thanks for mentioning it. You are a lovely lot.

I am no longer tingling like a medieval mystic which has to be good. The tingling was maddening just because it was a constant reminder that something is awry. And I had a lovely morning with one of my sisters who is due to have a caesarean on Tuesday, DS's birthday.

Dizzy can I catch you for names to go with Dara and a surname that starts O'S?

Another lovely thing: one of my very best old friends who lost touch for a while just got in touch via facebook.

My very oldest friend from primary school has published evil pics of me as a very freckly 14 year old on facebook. AIBU to track him down and maim him?

I hope you all have a good night.

oopsacoconut · 01/04/2009 22:42

We don't go for weeks yet but I have a list for DD - case and planebag, list for DH - electronics, suitcase and planebag, list for me the same. List of things for car to airport and I will ignore them all once I get packing.
