Hi all, it?s been three days since my last posting?. (bows head in shame) I know that because I had to go and find you all again

Eva ? really sorry you?re struggling with sleep and I?m sure you?ve really tried everything! The only thing I can think of is to have a break of say a night or so away from dd in order to stock up on your sleep so when you come back you are fresh to tackle her with a sleep plan. Do you have family near? I think you?ve got the hardest thing to crack as we have bath time issues here ?Henry?s terrified of the water, even in the sink and we?re having major temper tantrums but at least at 6pm I know it?ll end and I get some time to clam down. Wish I had the magic answer for you xx

Dal ? Love the name, wish you lived closer!!

Inzi ? 3 stone well done you fabulous woman!!!

Alice ? hoping you?ll get connected soon xx

Floria ? your garden plans sound fab and we would love to come for a BBQ in sept.

Wwajc ? good news your mum is calm and relaxed am hoping she gets her scan soon.

NC/tles ? loved the pictures it looks like you had a great time (as did the lo?s!)

We?re all fine here, Henry does do a couple of steps but it isn?t what I would call walking. It?s more like stagger, stagger, throw myself at mummy/daddy but it is progress nonetheless. His temper has moved up a notch to angry to mostly furious which is hard to handle as Ollie was never like this. He throws things mostly and at people mainly if you say no he just looks at you and does it again? if dh shouts/raises his voice, Hen looks quite evil and stares him out with a trembling bottom lip but refuses to cry. He has a steely determination that amazes me. Bathtime is non-existent as he is terrified of the bath still. We tried the sink today ?we?ve a deep Belfast/butler one and I thought this would be okay ? but no it took dh to hold him in it whilst I quickly washed his hair. I know a bit of dirt is good for you but we are really nearing the fine line where it really has to be bad for you as he had dirt in between his toes this morning plus baked beans from yesterday in his hair. He now won?t go near the paddling pool and didn?t at nursery. Really not sure what the problem is or what to do?

I am so massive you wouldn?t believe (well, you would you?ve all been there!!) very uncomfy and starting to grow out of my maternity clothes. Saw the consultant last week and have c-section booked for the 6th July so am really pleased there is an end.
I passed my last assignment and have passed that half overall and just have the exam on the 15th. Been revising and nearly getting it just not sure about being able to churn it out in exam conditions.

Must go as dh needs the computer (my laptop dead which is due to the burst pipe, it has been replaced but as it was like for like dh has adopted it as the plan was to get me a netbook? In sept as I don?t need a laptop till then but mine got wet in the burst pipe)

Love to all

muppet; say three 'hail marys' as pennance!
Sorry can't help with the water phobia...we have precisely the opposite problem Alexs' fave words (after ball, football, snooker, golf and stop!) are bath and shower (or baff and showa to be accurate)keeping him out of dirty puddles, fish ponds and rivers is a major problem...however have you tried a little water on Hens highchair tray? Add some bubbles for him to froth? see if he gets into splashing?
6th of July!!! Wow! another lo in our midst...I'm so excited for you. One of the girls who went to baby massage with me and who we still see regularly for tea and toys gave birth on Sunday...went into labour at 1.30am, called hospital and was told to go in, called mother to babysit for 20 month old ds, by the time mum arrived she couldn't get into the car! called an ambulance and Evie Grace, 8lb 13oz,arrived 5 mins after getting to hospital at 4am! Not bad eh?
well done on passing your assignment and good luck for the 15th, the way you have been preparing you are sure to walk it!

must get to bed...cant you tell Dh is away?

love to all

strawberrylace · 03/06/2009 21:55

Hello everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA for so long - have been reading the posts, but never seem to have a good amount of time to post back. So sorry for ignoring you all.

We have started work on our extension - have updated my FB page with some pix. We have walls, and the beginning of a roof for the kitchen diner. I have to take DS to visit my sisters the week after next so that DH can put in our new stairs and bathroom without us 'helping'. DS is obsessed with 'outside' and power tools - from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed he would like to be in the garden with a drill...

I've been on a diet and have lost 2 stone in 6 weeks - still a way to go, but pleased with results so far. Really want to go and buy some new clothes to celebrate!

DS is so grown up now. He is very chatty and says new things every day - copies what we say a lot so really need to watch what we say now! He likes to sing wheels on the bus - and sings 'all day long' really clearly!

I do hope you are all well xxx

FloriaTosca · 04/06/2009 11:50

strawberry I know exactly how you feel about posting ...
...in my case I think I just get a bit complacent and feel like I know you all so well that you won't 'mind'..sorry everyone...
...the fb pics look great. Alex is the same about power tools...tools of any sort ...he still calls the new wet room the 'bang, bang' room and looks around for a hammer!.Well done on the well done on the weight loss, 2st in 6 wks is phenominal! (FT looks down at vast expanse of own belly and wonders when she is going to summon up the will power to deal with it again.)
Off to excersise my democratic right to stand in a polling booth trying to determine which candidate is least corrupt most suitable

strawberrylace · 04/06/2009 21:15

FT - love the fact that Alex is also tool-mad - is it a boy thing? and yes - the diet requires all my willpower esp when my desk at work is next to the designated 'put your cakes here to celebrate your birthday' spot....
Off to watch Big Bro now - yes - i'll admit my sad nature - but perhaps that means I'll post a bit more

NeedCoffee · 04/06/2009 22:16

hi everyone, i've just read all the posts and forgotton them!!

strawberry-well done on the diet, inzi too, wish i had the will power, i've out over a stone on since meeting rich, don't know what i'm doing different.

The tool thingh is not just a boy thing, Shannon does it too, she also likes cleaning will try and get a few pics on in a minute as i've got quite a few good ones lately.

muppet-wow! I can't believe Tobias is going to be here soon how exciting!!!

Dal-hows things with the ironing? heard from your parents?

Alice-you got your internet yet?

hi to everyone else-will get pics up if i can

NeedCoffee · 04/06/2009 22:33

LisaLessLumpy · 05/06/2009 09:15

Hello ladies

I too need to do penance, must be at least 5 days since I caught up

We had a nice holiday in Cornwall, although the weather could have been better. The best day was the day we came home but at least we then had a super run of sun over last weekend and start of the week. I'll upload some more holiday pics to FB in a bit.

On Saturday we experienced the brand new A&E at Derby with Ben. He fell off the sofa 7.30 Sat morning hitting his head on the corner of the solid pine coffee table on the way down I have never heard such a thump it was horrible and his head came up in such a lump, it was small but because it was on the side of his forehead on top of a vein it came up in a mini heamatoma and we wanted to make sure it wouldn't leave him with a permanent lump like it did on my arse when I fell down the stairs a few years ago. ANyhow James decided we ought to go and get him checked out even though he was smiling 5 mins later. So we piled into the car and went down. The place is fab, they have a separate childrens A&E which is just lovely, there was one other girl in there at the time so we got seen to straight away. Anyway he checked out fine and luckliy all he now has his a yellow/green bruise which covers most of the side of his head.

On Tuesday night we converted Ben's cot into the bed, it went very well Tuesday night... he only got out of bed once but then slept till 5am, it then took me till 6.30 to persuade him to stay in bed and go back to sleep because it was so early. Managed to get another hour out of him then.

Wednesday night, put him to bed, he stayed in, all was great, he went to sleep. Haha we cracked it excellent we congratulated ourselves, how easy was that... Then he woke up at 10.45 and started the getting out of bed routine, just as I had been falling asleep it then took me till 12.30 to get him to stay in bed and finally go back to sleep (with a little help from Medised ) He then woke up at 6am and that was that, so a nice 5 hours sleep for me and about 8 hours for Ben, his shortest sleep yet. He also had his afternoon sleep in his bed too for 2 hours on Wednesday afternoon so I am hoping to keep that up when he is at home.

Last night he went to bed at 7pm, got out of bed a couple of times but then stayed in, luckily for the babysitter. When we got home I heard a bump and a cry but then it went quiet. When I went up he was face down on the carpet asleep but rubbing his hands on the carpet. Bless him I think that is why he has been awake in the nights, his eczema is really bad again at the moment and the heat isn't helping. He did stay in bed all night though and woke up at 6.30 this morning I can cope with that. I am hoping that tonight he will be sorted and sleep all the way through

So luckily we have had it relatively easy because during all the times of getting up he hasn't cried at all really, it has just been a case of getting him back into bed. Wed night I must have put him back into bed 2 dozen times during that hour and a half, all without eye contact or speaking, he obviously got the message though

Well today I need to do some baking, Sam is 4 on tuesday, I really can't believe it, where has the time gone? and I need to make his cake, then I have to do one for my cousins 21st on the 4th July and one for my friends daughters 4th on the 5th July and one for my SiL's sisters daughter ;) on the 11th July I think busy busy I could do with some more freezer space

Blimey I think this just might be my longest post ever, hope I'm not boring you all If anyone wants to see even more photos I am scanning a few of my baby/child photos in today, I was a cutie if I do say so myself I wonder if I had a girl whether she would look like me or not, not that I am going to try and find out you understand, it would be nice to know though.

Eva Hi, nice to see you back, I hope you get the sleep sorted out soon, there is some good advice from the other ladies, you just need to try the different options, hopefully one of them will work for you.

Muppet I have no idea what to suggest to you regarding Henry and bathtimes but I do sympathise. I also hope he calms down for your sake and Tobias's Wow 6th July and another baba in our midst, so exciting, my friend is due her 2nd the week after you, I am very excited about that also

Inzi Wow 3 months! where has the time gone, seems only like a few weeks since you started, but congratulations on the weight loss, its amazing

StrawberryLace How on earth did you manage to lose two stone in 6 weeks? I hope you have been doing it sensibly. But congratulations anyway

I am still struggling to lose any more, it seems as soon as I have a breakthrough and get nearer my goal I ruin it by having a bad weekend and it then takes me another couple of weeks to claw back the damage

Floria Glad Alex is giving you some better sleep, one day he will sleep through ;)
A BBQ in September sounds good, I'm sure we could make it.

Alice Are you all set up yet? Are you still in rented or are you in your proper new house, I'm afraid I've lost track of where you are at Hope your boys are treating you well

NeedCoffee Just went to look at your photos but there is a problem with FB at the mo and they aren't all showing up, but I have seen the new profile pic and WOW, Shannon looks just like you

Dal Sorry can't help with the wasp phobia thing but it looks like you have had some good advice from the other ladies, your SiL talks a lot of sense too. I used to be terrified of spiders but then I moved to the country and we have massive ones in the house, slowly over 7 years I have come to accept them and can now catch them under a glass and put them outside and even look at them with feeling sick to my stomach, I never thought I would be able to do that, but needs must when you are on your own, no way I could go to bed knowing there was a big spider in the house I hope you get it sorted soon as there is nothing worse than a phobia about something.

Right I am all typed out, this has taken me an hour to do, my brain has lost any other capacity for remembering stuff. I hope I haven't missed anything important.

I hope you all have fab weekends xx

LLL wow at the long post! Poor Ben, banging his head, we've had the same this week, Shannon tripped over a cushion in my room and landed her head on my bedside cabinet, which came up in a massive bump and also a long cut on it, she was whiny all day and kept rubbing it, but apart from that she seemed ok, and then this morning dd1 woke me up to say that she#d been bouncing on her bed and fell forward onto her desk, causing another cut right between the eyes, that bled a lot, but yet again, she seemed ok, stopped crying after a couple of minutes, she does look a right state now though! Maybe i should have got her checked out...Bad Mummy!

Inzi-hark at you skinny minny, i'm going the other way, all my clothes are too small, must stop snacking!

well, i'm just waiting for dd1 to get home, then shes going to her dads, and then i'm taking Shannon to my dads as i'm going out tonight with Rich, hes been doing uni work for weeks and i've hardly seen him, so should be nice, thats if my Dad and his partner will accept an injured child!

oh, i failed my last exam, thought i had, he gave me extra work to do on it, so hopefully that'll be ok, but have to wait till next Tue again to see if i've passed grrr.

Hope everyone is ok xxx

Dalrymps · 05/06/2009 23:16

Hey ladies,

Muppet - Ah so mil was exagerrating on the sunbject of Henry's walking then, what a surprise . Glad he's making progress though, he might be walking by the time Tobias is here then thats one less to carry!

Not sure what to sugest about his fear of water. I'm sure you've tried all the obvious things... Have you sat in the bath with him (sorry, not sure if you do that already). We still do that with Dylan cause he's like a rubber band leaping all over and it's easier just to sit in the bath with him on my knee.

Hope the revising is going ok and that the exam goes well.

Bet you're starting to long for the pg to be over now as you'll be uncomfortably big. I never got that big cause Dyaln was a tiddler but it was bad enough! Roll on July!

Floria - What an exciting delivery story for your friend! I love the name Evie, it's on my list if we have a girl (yes i'm so broody i've started a list)

Hey strawberry! Great to hear from you . Have seen your extension pics on fb, looking great.

Wow, 2 stone! What diet you on? I need to lose that amount but there's no hope for me at the moment (said as I'm currently munching a mars ice cream).

Dylan is copying everything we say too, have to be very careful! He's not into tools yet but does want to play with the sweeping brush and mop a lot. He also loves anything that spins, he's obsessed, granny got him a spinning top, this means he keeps bringing it to me to set off a hundred times a day

NC - Saw the pics, they're great, Shannon's so cute! Sorry to hear she's been banging and crashin around, i'm sure she's fine, you know her best of all . Hope you have a nice night with Rich. I would guess that giving up smoking has made you eat more as it supresses your appetite, think I put on a little weight when I gave up.

Sorry you failed the exam but glad you can do extra work to make it up, sure it'll work out just fine.

Ironing business coming along, have had another meeting with my 'business advisor' and he liked my business plan and has filled in the forms to apply for my funding

I have had no more phone calls from my parent s but recieved a stupid parcel from them today. It was my wedding dress and a birthday card. They've had it 3 years so a bit late now! Just more emotional blackmail to try and upset me on my birthday and make it all about them as usual. Well, it's not worked cause I opened it today instead, ha!

LOL at your name getting stuck on fb

LLL - Glad you had a nice time in Cornwall the pics on fb are lovely!

My bro and sil are cuerrently on there way up here from Cornwall to visit me, can't wait!

Sorry Ben had an accident, that's just the kind of thing I can imagine Dylan doing, he's such a climber! Glad all is ok and he's not seriously hurt.

Here's hoping he stays in his bed tonight sounds like it's getting a little better each night so fingers crossed.

Haven't got to that point with Dylan yet, quite a scary thought actually, I can imagine he'd be in and out of it like a fiddlers elbow and in to everything in his room argh! Think we'll leave it a while longer...

Ooh, what kind of fabulous cake are you going to make for Sam's birthday? You always make amazing ones!

The wasps thing is a little better. After reading some ifo on anxiety and phobias sil sent it has helped put it in perspective a bit more. I understand it more now. I need to slowly face my fear in little steps so I have been doing that and feeling a little less anxious each day

Inzi - What you saying about my posts?

I have hardly anything that fits me in my wadrobe either but it's cause i'm too fat! I'm sooo of your weight loss!

Hope you have a fabulous time at the pictures! Dh and I have only been out together once since Dyaln was born and that was for a meal on our anniversary. We did go out seperately for my bro's stag and sils hen but they were on two consecutive nights so dh looked after Dylan for the hen then I did for the stag iyswim. Anyway i'm just babbling, have a good un!

Well, i'm off to bed shortly. Hi to anyone i've missed. Mine, Stefka, hope work is going ok, thinking of you both! SleepMeNot, don't stay away too long, was great to hear from you! Les - Hope you're doing ok . WWAJC - Hi! Alice - Get that internet sorted, we miss you! Anyone else, hope you are all well x x x

LisaLessLumpy · 06/06/2009 08:22

Hi Dal - glad you are taking tiny steps to face your fear, that's all you can do and you should feel proud of yourself that you are trying to tackle it.

Gah on your parents, what a thing to send on your b'day after so long

The cake Sam wants this year is Spiderman and Batman, sounds complicated but it should be relatively easy. I also need to make a Fifi cake for my friends daughters 4th B'day on 5th July and a 21st cake for my cousin on the 4th July I'm going to be sick of cakes by then

Dalrymps · 06/06/2009 10:06

Yeah i'm trying Can feel it's working too!

I know, my parents, what can you say, it's not surprising..

Cakes sound great! Can't wait to see them on FB when you've finished them

Well, i'd better get in the shower cause my bro will be here in a few hours, chat soon ladies x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 06/06/2009 11:44

FT - glad Alex is sleeping better.

Eva - hello and welcome back. Sorry you've had a hard time with moving/work/lack of sleep etc. Don't have much advice on sleeping I'm afraid - Anya's always been quite good - but others will be able to help I'm sure.

NC - lol at pink laptop. Sorry about the exam - hope you pass this time.

Muppet - good news that Henry is progressing towards walking. Can sympathise about him being scared of the bath - Anya went through that a few months ago. We cured it by starting off with her just in the bath with no water in, also the tiniest bit of water in a bowl left in the living room during the day - gradually she got used to both, then we progressed to a tiny bit of water in the bath and built up. In the meantime we went through lots of wipes to keep her semi-clean .

Strawberry - helloooooo! Well done with the diet. Lol at ds being outside with a power drill - have an image of him in a little hard hat .

LLL - ouch at Ben's bump. Anya did the same thing the other day - flung herself on the floor in a show of excitement at my dad arriving - missed the floor and smacked her head on the wall instead. Huge bump on her head in really pretty colours - didn't take her anywhere though - apparently it's ok if there's a bump, it means the stuff's on the outside of their skull instead of the inside (or something like that - Alice has probably just fallen off her chair laughing). How's the cake making going?

Dal - well at least you've got your wedding dress back! Glad you've got good advice on the wasps thing.

My mum is having her scan on Tuesday - she's decided to have it done privately in the end - so will have the results by the end of the week.

Anya had her first haircut this week. There's a local place that does it for £1 . Anya was deeply unimpressed but she looks much tidier now. She's been a bit grumpy/clingy the last few days - hopefully it's her last molars coming through. Bedtimes are a bit hit and miss too. Luckily she's happy not to do very much while the weather's so bad. Is summer over now then?

TheLadyEvenstar · 06/06/2009 23:33

Just a quick hello so i can find u again lol

OP posts:
Stefka · 07/06/2009 09:13

A quick post from me too to say I haven't forgotten you! Just very busy at work and am suffering horrible headaches which mean I need to stay off the computer when I am at home.

DH is out tonight so I am going to try and catch up with you all then.

xx

muppetgirl · 07/06/2009 12:18

Hi all
Dh just left with Ollie for the afternoon at legoland. I'm jealous but it's expensive and as I can't go on anything we thought the £36 price tag was a bit much + plus we'd have to stop for Henry and it's really Ollie;s treat. Ollie opacked his 'adventure pack' last night (little rucksack with torch map , drink and other stuff and adventurer needs he's so fab!) He's also got some of his money from his money box to buy some new lego so I'm not sure what is the most exciting bit; day out with Daddy at LEGOLAND!!!, adventure pack or his own money to spend!

Henry's asleep so I'm going to revise. They boys went swimming this morning so I'm hoping he'll be nice and tired so I can get lots done.

Wierd weather here, rainy, sunny, cloudy but quite warm.

Am exactly 35 weeks today so have 4 weeks and 1 day to go can't believe it's gone so quickly. Seems each week inbetween has something to do , parents evening, sports day, induction for year 1 for Ollie, midwife app's + booking in stuff and oh, just a smallish exam to do next week!!!!!!

AM feeling very stressed about the exam as I have a realsitic aim of just passing but are feeling very panicky and confused as all the information is getting mixed up! Still, it'll be good exam practise should I need to take it again.

Sorry not replied individually, will do later
xxxx

Dalrymps · 07/06/2009 21:53

Hi ladies,

WWAJC - Aww, bet Anya looks sweet with her new hair cut . Did you save a lock of hair? Dylans hair is ver long on top but still not really far enough forward for it to be cut iyswim. It's very fine and fair and has taken ages to grow so I'm leaving it as long as I can before cutting it

Les - Hi, come back soon!

Stefka - Great to hear from you. Sorry to hear you've had terrible headaches . Hope they clear up soon... Is there any kind of anti glare thing you can get for the screen?

Muppet - Wow, Ollies day sounds very exciting at him packing his little bag.

Hope you've had a nice day and not been too warm.

4 weeks and 1 day where has the time gone?!

Hope you don't stress to much about your exam, try not to, as you say, you can always do it again. You've probably taken in a lot more info than you think

Well, i'm pretty tired today. Had a lovely birthday with yesterday and it was great to see sil (bf) and my bro. They set of back to cornwall at lunchtime (9 hour journey eek). We had a few drinks and stayed up talking till 1.30am, not used to staying up that late anymore! Got lots of nice pressies

Unfortunaltely I'm now sat here not talking to dh as we had an argument at tea time

Where has everyone gone? Have I said something to offend someone

CrochetDiva · 08/06/2009 20:38

Hello .... just popping in to disturb the @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@_

muppetgirl - I am thinking of you for your exam - everything crossed for you!

you remember that link you sent me for the dress - well I made onefor Mairwen and it's gorgeous! Just have to get her to stay still enough to take a photo of her!

Dal - grrrr at your parents - and Happy Birthday (sorry it's late!)

LLL - sorry to hear about your A&E trip - it's horrible having to take them when they're so little!

hmmm .... sorry, am being very crap - am mega-busy at work and doing a lot of work in the evenings ... and they've blocked my access to MN at work so I can't even pop in to say hi then!

I am thinking of everybody ... just being crap and not posting!

Mairwen's hair is very long and curly at the back, but I attack her fringe every time I cut everybody else's ... sometimes I'm allowed to put slides in it to keep it out of her face - as long as I put some in myself they look ridiculous on me, but hey ho (even though one of the kids at school last week asked me why I was wearing a Peppa Oig hairslide )

love to all!

Stefka · 08/06/2009 21:12

gahhh - didn't get back on Sunday obviously!! Dareh has decided it takes him an hour on my boob to go to sleep the last two nights.

I am soooo tired. Job is good but I can't keep up with full time and mum time.

Muppet can't believe it is nearly time for you!!! So exciting.

How dare they block MN at your work crochet - terrible! I can't get on there either, probably just as well though as I would get nothing done!

I want to catch up properly but my brain is mush and it is only Monday!

FloriaTosca · 08/06/2009 23:06

forgive me ladies for I have sinned it has been 5 days since my last posting
and this one isnt going to add much because its late, I'm tired and I depserately need my bed...(it's been a busy one today)...I'm just popping in to say I'm sorry, I'm rubbish and I'll try to make up for it soon....

...oh an the engineers are staring on the garden next week...yippee!!!!
