CSWS - I did glance at your post when you first confessed but I didn't click that you had actually confessed anything. I thought you were just saying that you thought DS was possibly ready. It really was a coincidence. I was scared that you would tell me off though! I find my own reaction strange as DS was weaned so early, but with M I feel terrible about it. She does love the little bits she has tried though. I still feel naughty.

The instructions were pretty vague as I recall. Have phoned a pharmacist and she said doesnt matter whether 15 ml or 30, will ring and check with another justincase.

Just been to NCT sale and bought more crap toys.

star6 · 07/03/2009 18:54

Anyone know what that thing that you put the baby in but they are sort of standing up is called? myjob and csws linked it once... it has a tray w/ toys and is round? rock n' play or something like that? looking online. And any ideas on where to find a cheap one or less expensive version? I think Q would love it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/03/2009 19:09

Thank you! Bidding now....

star6 · 07/03/2009 20:28

oops. I bid on one that is too far away and pick up only... didn't see that. I wonder if I should email ebay or just wait and see if over next few days someone outbids me anyway. I got swept away with bidding!

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/03/2009 20:31

I would email and ask to withdraw the bid.

Honeymoonmummy · 07/03/2009 20:34

I don't know Star sorry, I'm not an e-bayer

I just had a spinach and potato curry and I feel sick now, it didn't quite work, DH made it.

Has anyone sorted a child trust fund yet and who with?

Honeymoonmummy · 07/03/2009 20:37

You could get one of those activity stations cheap at an NCT nearly new sale in your area Star. There were some there today where i went and we already have one from a previous sale.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/03/2009 20:37

I left choosing a trust fund to dh, so nothing has happened with it yet . DD's is with Abbey - if you pay in more than the max allowed any year then it holds the rest over in an interest bearing account, and then transfers it to the trust fund on the anniversary when the next year's allowance comes into effect. It's one that invests in the stock market.

avoid the walker ones Star as unless you have very flat, even floors they are prone to tipping over. Several friends have had accidents with them on uneven floors. This obviously doesn't apply to the static ones. Happy bidding....

Joe is loving food far too much. He is eating all his food so fast and then crying for more. He loves being at the dinner table with us but only if he's eating too. Myjob - i thought i would only give Joe some tasters until he was 26 weeks (on weds ) but he has been sooo hungry i have had to move onto the 6 month plan of giving him stuff more quickly. I have now progressed from orange stained t-shirts (mine) to orange stained clothes (Joe) from all the luminous poos he's been doing. I have tried soaking them but they are still vile...we had mango today and we are having sweet potato tomorrow so i fear its going to get worse!! At least he is less sick so its not coming out the top end so much, just more coming out the bottom instead...

CSWS - i just confessed as i am rubbish at hiding stuff!!

loulou33 · 07/03/2009 20:40

hmm - it depends on how much risk you want to take and if you want to put extra money in as well. We have CTF with Yorkshire BS for both boys but i put monthly money in Halifax childrens account for them as it pays really good interest - probably better than CTF unless you go for higher risk ones.

Star - you will have to email seller and ask for them to withdraw your bid

Honeymoonmummy · 07/03/2009 20:47

I had a quick look on money supermarket a few weeks ago, but I just can't be bothered!

loulou33 · 07/03/2009 20:51

the one that money supermarket recommend (some small bs, can't remember which) will only accept voucher if you open the account in person. They are based near newcastle so i was really peeved but Yorkshire are still quite good and you can open the account by post!!

Marthasmama · 07/03/2009 21:07

Hello all. Regarding the Child Trust Funds. If you are considering topping them up, and you haven't fully utilised your personal ISA allowances, then it is worth considering a regular savings plan into your own ISA allowance. The Child Trust Fund money becomes their's as soon as they turn 18 and the parents have no control over this. They could go out an spend it all on, I don't know, booze for example! If you invest it into an ISA in your name, then you still have control over the money and when it is given to the DC. You can segment ISA contributions so you can keep track of the money you have invested for DC seperately to the money invested for yoursevles. The stock market is very low at the moment so it is a good time to invest in stocks and shares as you will get more for your money, plus the lentgh of time the money will be invested for means that the risk of this type of investment is reduced. HTH

Anyone want to play I-spy?

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/03/2009 08:41

lol at i-spy. I'd been in bed since 9! Good job too as my day started at 5:20 (as well as doing several night feeds, obviously).

OP posts:
jenwa · 08/03/2009 09:31

DH allowed me a lye in but I could not sleep but then I did go to bed at 10:30 and slept through to 6:45 as it seems I always wake at that time (playgroup morning time) but stayed in bed til 8 ish but thought would get up as not achieving anything! Cleaned the oven and OMG its gross!!! I need something more powerful then a cloth and MR Muscle! I need some oven cleaner as ran out and maybe seen those things on the advert where you put the stuff in a bag and shake! Does anyone know what I mean or tried them?

aubergenie · 08/03/2009 09:58

Jenwa ? you need some Oven Pride. It?s really good. Comes with a bag and you just soak all the bits in it. I took the glass out of the door and did that too. I got it in Tescos. I was so excited when I used it that I actually rang my mum and my sister to tell them about it! God knows what they put in it though. I?m sure it?s terrible for the environment and probably wipes out all my efforts with washable nappies.

Re CTF ? we wanted to get an ethical one, which limited the choices slightly, so we?ve got a cash one with Britannia (who are doing a deal with the co-op later in the year, so hopefully are reasonably ethical). We?re also going to set up another account for ds that we?ve got some control over. Thanks for the ISA tip MM.

I weighed ds yesterday at my sisters house (we haven?t got any scales) by weighing myself and then getting on with him, and according to her scales, he weighs 20lbs.

Honeymoonmummy · 08/03/2009 10:11

Morning all! I was still feeding Poppy at that point CSWS. When she finally fell asleep at about 11, I went downstairs and brushed and mopped the lounge floor, something I've been trying to do for a week so I can lay that rug down, then went to bed. Poppy had me up between 4 and 6 and woke at 9. Loooverly.

heather1980 · 08/03/2009 12:04
