Star - I'm not sure how he got them (I haven't got them by the way ) but I'm not going to tell you how their life cycle works as it is yucky. Awww, little boys love their willies and it's fine for him to play with it. They even get little erections sometimes - tee hee! You'll have to get used to it I'm afraid! You'll never stop a boy playing with his wink.

DS is all clear now thanks to the tablets, phew! M hasn't got them so hurrah for that too. She has been eating a bit more and definately wants to feed herself. I ate a chocolate cookie last night and she went crazy trying to grab it from me. She then threw a massive strop so we gave her a rice cake and she scoffed it down. I have also discovered that she can sit up on her own but she is more interested in eating her feet so collapses down to grab them. When I held something she was after up above her head, she sat up, without support to look at it. She is so lazy!

Awww I love the picture of N eating toast. DH says awwww too, he thinks she's gorgeous.

I wonder how the CSWS family are doing....?

star6 · 28/03/2009 20:33

Cute, myjob! I'm so jealous of the toast! I can't imagine giving Q anything but puree after the choking incident. It was heart stopping.
LOL about M being lazy MM!

oh goodness.... back to breastmilk only

star6 · 28/03/2009 20:44

I'm having a hard time trusting myself re: weaning. I'm reading annabel Karmel... but I still feel like I might not be doing it right. By which age does Q absolutely NEED 3 meals a day? And is it ok to do more, smaller feeds? I thought this was a healthier wayt o eat, anyway?? Do GPs know about this?
I need to make appointment. I missed Qs third round of jabs two weeks ago and no one has called me to reschedule . In fact, no inquiry or anything since he went for his second round of jabs.

Marthasmama · 28/03/2009 20:45

I was thinking that too Star but only because of the horrible poos that are coming out!

Star - trust your instincts. You know Q better than anyone else so you know what approach to take. M is having milk first thing, a bit of baby cereal with us down stairs, then more milk, then a bit of lunch but for the rest of the day she just has milk as she is usually a bit too tired to make the effort. A bit of a delay between the jabs is ok I think but you should get it sorted. Nothing surprises me about GPs anymore. I never had a letter reminding me about my smear, I had scan results sat at the GP's for two weeks before anyone bothered to let me know, I have changed my address with them four times and they STILL get it wrong! Oh and I have no HV!

Oh forgot to tell you. I was sitting next to another MNer when I had my haircut. She has confirmed it! She was impressed with my memory, hope she doesn't think I'm a crazy stalker [not a crazy stalker emoticon]

heather1980 · 28/03/2009 23:03

star - worms are usually more prevelant in preschool and nursery children. they catch them from things like soil and sandboxes esp if cats have access to them (ie to poo in!) they can also be picked up very easily from person to person on things like towels and bedding which is why they recommend to treat the whole family when someone catches them. the reason young kids get them is: they get them, scratch (as they itch) don't wash their hands and then put their hands in their mouths and so the cycle continues. Q will get them at some point, along with nits!
i work in pharmacy and see people all the time with them, they are really common and nothing to be worried about. promise!!

also don't forget that milk is the main food until they are 1 year so don't stress about about they 3 meals. it took me 4 weeks to get kennedy on 3 meals, so rice for 1 week, then puree for 1 meal 2nd week, 2 meals 3rd week and 3 meals 4th week. after the 4th week we introduced lumps, and they got lumpier and lumpier over 2 weeks. so after 6 weeks she was eating solids like finger foods and pasta etc. after that we indroduced snacks as well and dropped milk feeds until she had 3 meals and 3 milk feeds a day. hth

jenwa · 29/03/2009 09:16

Hi all

Eek to worms and willies! I am glad I am not checking willies and bums!

csws hope all ok, what a nightmare for you and all the work you have had done

star I never knew that about men in america either!

Right sorry its short but DD2 has just had a poo so better go sort her out.

loulou33 · 29/03/2009 13:29

Yes Star Q WILL be playing with his willy. DS1 used to pull his so he could see it properly. his little tummy was so big that he had to stratchit quiote a way to see it and DH used to wince each time.
Right go to go for a kip as Joe was up at 4am this morning with a cough and refused to go back to sleep - aaaahhhh. He has laryngitis again from squealing all the time - i have no idea how to stop him doing it, any suggestions would be great!! He is also really constipated despite the lactulose and prunes - poor boy

Hello ladies. Have been skim reading in dribs and drabs, but can't remember what I wanted to respond to, so will try and read again if I get long enough free now.

We are at inlaws but dh set up my laptop to work here so that I could carry on searching for a holiday for us and some friends - we've left it a bit late to get most of the villas we'd like. He has taken his mum to visit someone in hospital, and the kids to the park for a bit, as I am not well today. Have terrible stomach pain and feel really sick. Suspect something I've eaten, but no idea what as no-one else affected.

Ds had a lovely roast lunch - a bit of a chew on some lamb, then some carrots, parsnips, cauliflower and a roast potato. He tried some stewed apple (from an apple sponge that mil made) for pudding but pulled a right face - the only thing we've found him not to like so far, so he had some mummy milk instead .

Right, fil is wittering at me, so better stop typing for a bit.

Ok, replying to bits as i come across them, so excuse if disjointed and multiple posts!

star - do you mean more smaller milk feeds? If so, then can't see why not, but suggest block feeding (same side for every feed in a 3 or 4 hour period) to make sure that he is getting enough rich hindmilk.

Food is for fun until they are one (a little blw mantra), so he doesn't need to be having 3 meals a day for another 6 months at least. Dd hardly ate a thing by 11 months, until i started being stricter about cutting down on milk feeds during the day, and she is healthy as anything now, aged 3.

lovely toast pic myjob.

I turn my back for 5 mins and all talk turns to willies . I'm far to innocent for that and have had to avert my gaze from this thread.

remember to change your clocks everyone! ha! i thought my latop was screwed up for a bit there... I dont like losing an hour... I wonder if this will change Q's bedtime routine...? hope not.

heather1980 · 29/03/2009 18:06

myjob, i had 3 meals and 3 milk feeds by 7 1/2-8 months. i followed an annabel karmel book, which i found quite helpful. that was starting off on bm and then to formula by 7 months coz she self weaned

i just gave alex some baby rice, he wasn't to impressed and spat most of it back at me!

Honeymoonmummy · 29/03/2009 18:49

Love the pics MyJob.

MM- "You'll never stop a boy playing with his wink."- what can I say? You speak the profound truth my friend

CSWS, sorry to hear you're not feeling well.

I've been for a walk with the other yoga mums (altho I'm not going any more as I'm too rickety!!! ) -and the dads- that I arranged in Delamere Forest this morning. Thought it'd be nice for the dads to meet up too. It was really nice, the weather was perfect but it was a little more hilly than I was expecting so I've spent the rest of the day in bed with DD, I'm so stiff!!! DH took her out for another walk before so I had a nap.

She's not sleeping well at all the last 3 nights, we've had the hairdryer on cold on the floor virtually constantly now as she's so restless, so I've not been asleep as I keep setting my alarm every 10 mins so the house doesn't burn down!!

DH and I had a HUGE row this morning, I've been really horrible to him for a week or so now and have come to realise it is part of the PND, I really think I have it now so I'm going to the docs tomorrow. I always got really PMT where I was in a black mood that I could feel coming down on me and lifting off again if that makes sense, and I seem to feel like that all the time at the moment.

Anyway it all came to a head this morning and I realised how genuinely upset I am making DH so I'm going to do something about it. I need to do a bit of research to see if pills are actually the best way to go as I've just found an article on a depression website that says that the pills are the best solution for PND and it very rarely becomes a long term problem/ addiction. I was going to ask for counselling but I don't know now...

I hope to God I get a better sleep tonight!!

Honeymoonmummy · 29/03/2009 18:50

That should be "I always got really bad PMT"...

Honeymoonmummy · 29/03/2009 18:57

Oh and DD should be Poppy...WTF???
