hi all i can't keep up with all the posts but i hope all is well with you. Joe is doing great. his granny came to viist and had knitted him a fab jumper for a 12 month old. Sadly it already too small for him round the chest but i squeezed him into it for a bit last week!! He is loving any food he can get his hands on except parsnip which met with a resounding rejection!! Joe also has laryngitis and sounds very hoarse and croaky. he foudna new skill last week - high pitch squealing so i think this may explain his sore throat!! He keeps coughing and sounds like a dog barking - doc says there's nothing we can do sadly.

loulou Q has been experimenting with high pitched noises all day today!! Beautiful weather here!!!!

aubergenie · 15/03/2009 17:47

S likes squealing as well!

What a glorious day. I've spent a few hours in the garden cutting things back and tidying up. It still looks a mess, but we're getting there.

CSWS - I love camping.

Ooh. We got home yesterday to find several police cars outside. Then we saw the next door neighbour being led away by the police. I'm desperate to know what it was all about.

jenwa · 15/03/2009 19:46

Hi ALl
well I am back and survived. Tired but ok.
Had a lovely time meeting my sis and having wine and went home at 1:30 so better than 4!!!! Was sooo tired though and ended up not really enjoying it as could not hear what anyone said so felt quite depressed about that, did get a drink bought for me from some swedish sexy man .

Anyway, peed off as DH never picked me up from station as he took dd1 to his parents and because dd2 still off colour he stayed here and got his parents to pick me up then I came home to no housework done, a basket full of washing that I had emptied before I left and dd1 bags still full from polaygroup with lunch box etc from fri

Just makes me not like going away when have to come home and still tidy up from what has not been done plus unpack and cook tea and all the other stuff! Will go away for 2 weeks next time or long enought that he will need to do washing and cleaning otherwise he will run out!
When I asked him why he had not done anything he said he ahd been too busy looking after our children!!!! Welcome to my world

Sorry for the rant but feel better now. Either that or I feel like crying as tired too

Maybe I should be single, no one else would want me anyway, Dodgy hearing, jelly belly and 2 children! I think I prob would be fine on my own anyway, I manage now !!!!!

jenwa · 15/03/2009 19:46

aubergenie ohhhh fill us in on the police then!!!!!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/03/2009 19:52

Ok, so that's star and aubergenie up for a trip to mine. Anyone else?! 15 mins from J10 of M1 or junctions 6 or 8 of A1(M). Someone could camp in the playhouse .

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/03/2009 19:58

Awwww Jenwa. I'm knackered too, so going to go to bed in a few mins I think and try to catch up a bit. 3 hours just isn't enough sleep for a whole night!
How bad is your hearing? I seem to struggle when there's a lot of background noise like in a pub or club, but I appreciate that yours is worse than that. My brother is married to a profoundly deaf since birth lady. We figured that was the only way he'd ever get married, as anyone who had to actually listen to him wouldn't be interested .

Bugger - ds waking up, and only been in bed 45 mins. Right, will sort him out and then go myself. Night all.

I think DD is just starting the 4 month growth spurt - I swear she wanted feeding every hour last night. I know I should go to bed like you CSWS and try and catch up but then I feel cheated of my evening. Hope you had a good meet up. LOl at sleeping in the playhouse. J10 is quite a long way from me but if it ends up happening, I could try and persuade DH to visit his sister who lives in london at the same time.
HMM - how was the chinese? DS loves chinese leftovers but we don't have it too often (prob lots of things he shouldn't have) Jenwa glad you had a good time. Grr at your DH. Mine would be excactly the same. If I go out for a few hours with the kids, he doesn't seem to manage to do anything apart from get himself dressed and fed. It drives me mad
Aubergine very impressed with your gardening. I had planned on doing some but ended up only getting so far as picking up the rubbish out of the front garden (not our rubbish, we live on a main road which is quite windy) DD enjoying squealing too. Also gets egged on by DS squealing back so can see some noisy times ahead. Night all!

SmudgeyDoodle · 15/03/2009 20:46

Oops, sorry.

star6 · 15/03/2009 20:46

Oh Jenwa, so sorry to hear that. You know, you're NOT ALONE!! I think men just can't multitask. They have no idea what we go through to keep everything in order, tidy and kids happy and looked after. And the secret crappy truth is, that no matter how hard we try to make them understand, they never will. Well, maybe some men might...but not most. It is frustrating, though.

My dh did do loads of housework today... but ONLY because I had sex with him yesterday. I swear this is why. He'll do anything for that.
We haven't done it but that once after Q was born. It was still scary and painful, but better than last time. I think I'll try to force myself to do it once a week and maybe it will just get better.

CSWS - Since I was first to ask, I get the playhouse!

KSal · 15/03/2009 21:16

I'll come CSWS.... i can get home from yours easy enough I'm guessing (although i love camping and would feel a bit sad to miss out on a sleepover!)

Having fun trying to wean emma - going down the puree route as she's off to nursery in a week and i figured it would be easier... I just can't work out when to feed her or give her milk and fit it all in with her sleeping. The nursery asked what her routine is... i am drawing a complete blank!!!

they are going to love her constant puking and poo escapes!

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/03/2009 21:35

I'm not so sensible really smudgey. Settled ds and then got distracted by stuff, so still here .

OP posts:
star6 · 16/03/2009 08:18

Q will be 24 weeks on Thursday. The past few nights he's been waking at 3am and is awake for 30min to an hour just talking to himself. He'll fuss a bit... I'll put pacifier in his mouth... he'll chat some more, spit it out... finally, he'll fuss more i'll flip him over onto tummy/back and he'll settle back to sleep. So it's not like he's desperate for a feed, but I keep thinking if I were to just give him a bit more before he goes to bed, he might not wake at this time? He only feeds a certain amount at his 7pm feed because he is just so tired and falls asleep... but then he doesn't feed again until 5.30/6am.
Would it be wrong to start giving him just some baby rice before bed just before his bf.. would it be wrong to start tonight? He's 23weeks 4 days....

jenwa · 16/03/2009 09:05

csws lol re your brother, not about the hearing just that she does not have to listen there are pros then

Mine is moderate to severe, have a high frequency loss and my parents got me some phonak hearing aids which cost £1500!!!!. I cant hear certain sounds so if someone says 'cat' I dont always know if they say 'cat' or 'cap' as the 't' and 'p' are quiet etc. I struggle with accents and people who talk fast or mumble! Its a pain and gets me depressed at times.

had chat with DH this am as was upset about the weekend and getting home so think we have aired afew things, completely agree though star give them what they want and they will do anyting! Surely though if they really thought about it then why dont they just help all the time then we may like them more and be more interested in sex!!! !!!

Not sure about the baby rice star can you not give him a feed slightly earlier so he takes more? Would the rice fill him before his BF and still not take enough from you? Sorry I am not being helpful! Think maybe try and see what works for you, is he having rice inthe day at all?

I was going to bagsy the playhouse thought if everyone was in the house then I could sneak out and sleep in the playhouse and leave DD2 in the house with CSWS haha!! She sleeps well , star we will sneak in there toghether minus children to get a nice sleep and maybe csws will bring us a cooked breakfast in the morning

star6 · 16/03/2009 09:43

yeah! csws is up all night anyway, what's a few more babies to deal with, right? .

jenwa - no, Q hasn't had anything but breastmilk... well, in emergency (ran out of ebm) he had a bottle of formula, but that's unusual. I feel like he's so close to 26 weeks and he's so hungry.. he's a big eater

purpleflower · 16/03/2009 09:44

Good morning.

Sorry I haven't been able to check in very much recently. DS has had diareah(sp?) for the last week, I've got him a doctors appointment for 11am. I'm really worried as I don't think it's a bug, he's fine in himself and is still eating loads but every morning his nappy is horrible

DD is doing really well, she actually slept the best ever last night. She went down at 7pm and slept till 3am, fed and slept again untill 6.30! I feel like a new person now as I went to bed at 9pm.

She is in her own room now which helps. The cradle is going back to my cousin today as she needs it for her little girl. It will mean DD isn't a little baby anymore though My cousins little girl is 10 days old born at 33w 2d and may be coming home tomorrow, she is doing fantastically well

I haven't given DD any food yet, I'm not sure how to start I can't remember what I did with DS, I think he had pureed apple first. She has had a couple of bottles of formula just so I could get a bit extra sleep but last night was all with my milk

I tried potty training DS last week aswell as he had such bad nappy rash from the diareah but he freaked out at PIL yesterday and refused to use their toilet so I've put him back in nappys He's only 2.5 so we still have some time yet.

I hope all the other baby's are doing well

pepperrabbit · 16/03/2009 11:55

I'm just waving hello from the planet chicken pox.
DD & DS1 still really spotty and at home, DS2 seems to have a bloodshot eye where the blackeye was just fading!
To cap it all, my SIL, who visited yesterday afternoon with hr 2 boys rang at 8am to confirm that yes, her DS1 did have nits....
In the privacy of my bedroom I used some very unladylike language.
I mean - their poor heads are covered in CP scabs - how am I supposed to treat that?? . Anyway, I've frisked everyone and can't see any sign, so they all stink of tea tree oil which I've squirted over their heads as a precaution.
It's not very glamorous chez pepper at the mo.
(She's an avid facebooker so no mention of my anger on there you'll note!)

Honeymoonmummy · 16/03/2009 14:45

Hey all, just typed my post then lost it so can't be bothered to re-type!!! So...pretty boring post really! Nice day innit?

star6 · 16/03/2009 14:48

beautiful!!!!! I'm at work... good thing I teach young children Excuses to enjoy the weather

Honeymoonmummy · 16/03/2009 17:47

I think now would be a great time of the year to have a baby, so you get the summer off but it's not too hot when they're newborn. I presume ours aren't classed as newborn anymore?!?

star6 · 16/03/2009 19:52

No, I don't think so, HMM
We gave Q 1 teaspoon of baby rice mixed wth 1 tablespoon of breast milk this evening It was SO MUCH FUN! I didn't expect it to be! He is SO ready for it. he took the spoon like a natural . I was getting sad about trying because I like the fact that he's totally dependent on me for food I know that sounds a bit crazy, but I love that I'm the only one who can provide it for him... With the rice, he still needs my milk, so it's ok

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/03/2009 19:55

It sounds like a barrel of laughs round yours pepper .

at star and jenwa. I will laugh when your dc are 2 and start keeping you awake all night, and mine is a little angel who doesn't make a squeak .

Honeymoon - I always thought that April was the perfect month to have a baby. When my first was due in April I couldn't believe my luck, but that was the one that wasn't to be.

star - if Q isn't needing food (milk) to go back to sleep, then I'm not sure that giving him more before bed would make any difference to his waking. But it probably won't do any harm either, so if you feel like it's something that you want to do then give it a try. Ds had rice pudding tonight - will let you know if it makes any diff for us.
