Hello ladies.

Pull up a chair, grab a biscuit and lets start talking about puree vs blw and sleep deprivation

Becaroo glad you're feeling a bit more positive! Sounds like Tom is doing brilliantly.

Well, after me telling DP he would have to do 2 night wakings last night (T wakes 3 times, I had been doing 2 BFs, DP 1 bottle, last night we swapped). So T, naturally, slept till 9pm-2:45am, and only woke once after that (which I did)! Typical!

ninja · 04/03/2009 09:45

hopefully that's great news that you night was better - we had 3.5 night wakings (one was hard to settle her) but that's a big improvement!

She's a bit under the weather though and slept 3 hours in the middle of the day yesterday (plus 2 more shorter sleeps)

Going to pack for skiing next week.

For whoever asked, my niece (14) will look after M in the mornings (in a chalet where there'll be an adult in case of emergency) and DD1 will go in ski school so we should have 1.5 to 2 hours to ski, then in the afternoons we'll take turns.

I was skiing last year while I was pg but didn't know (thank goodness or I wouldn't have skiied so fast!!)

plusonemore I've got to get my stuff ready for an NCT sale this weekend. I've never sold before, it does seem like a faff, got to buy labels and elastic bands, plus track down cardboard boxes to transport it all in. I think I'll mark it down at really low prices as I want it all out the house and really don't want to have to end up e-baying it all.

We're having a funny morning today. DS is off nursery sick (lots of runny nappies but he's ok in himself) and DD will not keep still and keeps rolling over to the other side of the room and screaming when she gets stuck against the furniture 30 seconds later. CBeebies doesn't seem to be keeping the peace .

plusonemore · 04/03/2009 10:07

Meglet it is a pain isnt it? I'm doing not too cheap prices but hopefully not too much either. I'm thinking if it doesnt sell it wont be too hard to relabel with cheaper prices for the next sale (its all done on the computer) I'm doing 1or2 quid for a Tshirt, some items £4/5/6 like sets or dungarees, and quid for loads of vests. Maternity stuff between 3 and 8 pounds. You think thats OK?

plusonemore · 04/03/2009 10:26

oh, and i'm up to £266 total and havent finished clothes or started on toys!!!

Meglet · 04/03/2009 10:28

plusone that sounds about right. Although I'm not putting my maternity stuff in the sale, the info sheet said it doesn't really sell at our one, so it's gone on e-bay instead. I'm putting my Phil & teds cocoon in the sale, it's in pristine condition but I think I'll only price it at £10 in the hope it will sell. I want my loft to be empty of old baby stuff by the end of the month! I'm going to car boot the old sleep suits and odds & sods in the summer.

Pacita · 04/03/2009 10:29

Becaroo, ninja and ponymum, I'm up there with you and the elders of the tribe: I'm 37, although this morning I feel 107.

I can't tell you how many times Diego woke up, and I can't tell you why. All I know is that I feel tired and depressed, and a crap (and old) mother to go with it, as I'm all short tempered and not exactly jumping to play with him. And of course, because he's had a shit night, he is fractious, grumpy adding to the general crapness of they day. How does one break this vicious circle?

Hopefully · 04/03/2009 10:38

Pacita when I have a ridiculously bad night and T is completely overtired the next day (doesn't happen that often recently - usually now he is as fresh as a daisy after 6 night wakings!) I find the only way to break the short sleep-small feed-grizzle- small feed- short sleep-grizzle cycle is to go for a really long pram walk so T has a really good sleep. Can you take Diego out in the pram/sling/car for a couple of hours? It's so depressing when you want a kip too, but it can rest T enough to feed properly, be awake properly, and sleep properly.

Pacita · 04/03/2009 10:56

Thanks, hopefully, that is exactly what i plan to do. He is SCREAMING all the time when he's not at the breast, and is driving me nuts.

becaroo · 04/03/2009 11:07

pacita and hoepfully I feel your pain!!! Toby was up every hour and WIDE awake at 5am...yawn.....his teething has really kicked in I think

pacita Do you make that "old woman" graoning noise when you get up out of a chair??? I do...takes me about 2 mins to get up off the floor after playing with the boys! I feel like a crap mum too this morning after last night and boy, am I feeling my age so you are not alone x

plusone Thanks again.....feel a bit more positive about it all today. He is such a lovely kid (I know I am biased) and very sensitive. He sticks up for children who are being picked on and when his friend broke his arm he stayed in a playtimes with him for a week. I hate to see him feel sad and unconfident. Will let you know how I progress with the Toe by Toe x

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 04/03/2009 11:40

A first in our house today, M vomited. He done it in style as well. Projectile over my shoulder, down my back, in my hair. It also sprayed on the carpet and bounced off the leather sofa. Quite spectacular! And of course it happened just as I had got us both dressed and about to leave to go to a friends. Bless him, he didn't really seem that bothered, but he's knackered now.

I too make that noise when I get up off the floor

OP posts:
Hopefully · 04/03/2009 12:33

You'll all be thrilled to hear that I managed to don the appropriate number of pairs of knickers after my shower this morning

ILTMIMI T has vomited twice ever, and both times he conked out for about 2 hours afterwards, but was otherwise unconcerned!

Becaroo he sounds like a sweetheart!

I already make that old person noise when getting up, but I have crappy knees, so I have an excuse for doing it so young!

Meglet · 04/03/2009 13:43

I used to make that old ladies noise, but I have forced myself to stop. I remember my Grandma doing it .

I'm pleased you got the right number of pants on today hopefully.

DebiTheScot · 04/03/2009 14:08

I was going to pretend that I don't make that noise when I stand up but as hopefully has admitted to it I will too as she's younger than me! And I'll ignore the bit where she says she has an excuse for it

www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=antenatal_clubs&threadid=470437-due-sept-08-the-third-thread&pg= 16&go=go Does this make you feel sick?]]

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/03/2009 16:19

Does this make you feel sick

Sorry

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 04/03/2009 16:33

just typed a long post and it disappeared... twice

I used to make the granny noise when I was pg, less now..

Feeling worse today, just on time for my b-day... and woke up drenched, first time since dd was born ... leaky right boob...

DD loves "eating", she knows when we are so must have s.thing herself, she got crossed and cryed when I took my corn cake back from her, so I gave her a baby rice cake and gnawed on it with gusto.... so funny...

Jenbot · 04/03/2009 16:35

Hmm, it was poo leaking out through DDs clothes yesterday, her poos have gone v runny and upped in frequency. And today there's been blood in 3 nappies so far.

I rang the doctors after the 1st one and they said not to worry as she's OK in herself, but they said if it carries on to go in.
Now I don't know if they meant if it happened at all again or did they mean if it carries on, like, tomorrow. Bah. I'll have to call again...

SnowlightMcKenzie · 04/03/2009 17:01

Jenbot I don't think the usual causes are anything sinister, but you'll need/want to get it checked. I'm not a medical person, but I'm fairly sure that it is not an emergency unless she gets ill with it.

Pacita · 04/03/2009 17:02

Yes, I do the old woman noise, and after I've changed a nappy on the floor I get up and limp.

Diego and I just had a boob-out nap in bed.

Both better. Sigh.

Meglet · 04/03/2009 20:30

snowlight eeew, that old thread brings back horrid morning sickness memories. I'd forgotten how grim it was.

DD was 6 months today . It seems like babyhood will soon be gone, she'll be crawling and catching up with her big brother soon. I really hope she is walking at the end of the summer as they can play together outside.

CarrieBo · 04/03/2009 20:32

Let me know what you find out jenbot about the nappies thing. No blood here, but ds's nappies have gone from thick and creamy poos to ones like water that leak and soak through all his clothes. Doesn't seem too bothered, and its only his usual twice a day. Very strange though, he tried butternut squash the other day - could it be that?! I would have expected a quicker reaction if it was though, and wouldn't think it would still be going on now.

ninja · 04/03/2009 20:35

Jenbot I took M to the doctors with poo in her nappy (NHS direct advice) and after she smiled and gurgled at him sweetly as he prodded her he declared her the healthiest patient he'd seen all day!!

Like Starlight says if there's no pain or illness probably fine. However, I'd get it checked out just to be on the safe side if it continues.

re getting up - I'm actually quite nimble and can get up without even putting my hands on the floor (well I am a ninja aren't I??). However I hobble out of bed in the mornings and that is age.

I can also see my age in the skin on my chest and hands and in the increased frequncy of the 'in my day' comments

Meglet · 04/03/2009 20:40

I have just noticed that DS has the same skeleton top as the little boy in the cbeebies advert (which seems to have been playing on here for days now). Can't hear the words though as I don't have speakers.

ninja · 04/03/2009 20:40

That thread makes me glad I've got my baby now.

Saying that DH came in v.drunk on Sat night and said 'you do know we'll be having another one don't you'!! Luckily he then slept in the spare roon to get a lie in rather than trying to create it then and there

It'll be hilarious reading the Aug and Sept ones when the lo's are coming up for one!
