OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TALLULAHBELLE · 05/02/2009 21:09

Welcome back Jammy - glad you had a good time. Am of your willpower, I have a real sweet tooth/ fat tooth at the moment & can't pass up anything unhealthy.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/02/2009 21:18

Me too tallulah. I blame the BFing and it's your body replacing all the fats and sugars in BM. Must be magnified with twins.

How are things? how's the nipper?

TALLULAHBELLE · 05/02/2009 21:23

Hey Daisy. I am using b/f as an excuse too but really I am just a greedy pig.

Loving the Nipper. Am sending DH out later on tonight to file a cm or so off the close door in the hope that we can get out without popping the wheel off! just hope none of the neighbours catch him.

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 21:33

I'm not BF and I have a food tooth I start so well every day (and I'm eating loads more than usual) then after the school run I have felt faint a couple of times (again today, but that could be excessive-cleaning-itis) and end up eating to steady myself. Might manage a stone off though before DM gets back, have another month and I've lost about 6lb.

Baggins seems fine thanks. As soon as the blood stopped he was back to climbing on stuff and shouting. No obvious bruising like DS2 had so hopefully it was just a nose-bleed.

I am very impressed by your will power jammy, and glad you had a good time. Also glad you are back cos I want to know something!

your sinus thing sounds grim daisy.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/02/2009 21:40

lol at your DH out with the file T but I suppose it only needs to be at low level. Strangely all the side by side buggies said they fit through a standard doorway. I found they would.....if the door was off it's hinges.

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 21:46

I have enough trouble getting my 3-wheeler through a lot of doors. I wouldn't like to try with a double. Poor DS got a bollocking last week for trying to open the closed half of a double door on the community centre (FFS, where the playgroup is) so we could get in. The councillor did have to give in and help him in the end.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 05/02/2009 22:27

OK, had a quick catch up now.

Natty sorry you've got more financial stress. Hope the sun comes out for you soon.

Norty - welcome home and BIG BIG congratulations!!

Ria - what do you want to know about toilets, and why do you want to talk to me about them? Mmmmm, is it because of the reference to sewers in my name? (Mmmm, must change back from the New Year name...)

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 22:52

It isn't really relevant to my assessment, but on the DVD I watched there was an "Autonomous house" and they had a compostible(sp?) toilet. They used the liquid waste on the garden evey 2 weeks I think, and twice a year they had compost, which they also used in the garden. I am just wondering how this is safe to be putting the waste on veg etc, if they had been in contact with a gastric bug type thing?

I live such an exciting life, I need more to think about (roll on the end of the course then I can read the new Maeve Binchy novel I got for xmas)

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 22:53

you are the sewerage guru jammy

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 08:59

Well I know (a fair amount) about what happens at the sewage treatment works but not much about domestic compostable toilets. But I have looked this up and as I suspected it is not recommended for use on the vegetable garden, though apparently the risks are small. I don't know if this is the sort of thing you've been learning about, but I found this site very interesting. I particularly like the idea of emptying the bath into a tank in the downstairs room and using the heat to help dry clothes.

Well MIL has gone to try to make her way back to Cumbria. I hope she has a safe and not too tortuous journey. I've got the washing machine, the dishwasher, the breadmaker (my 3 domestic slaves ) running, have cleaned the kitchen, sorted the cat litter and emptied the bins. I'm now enjoying the peace of almost no traffic because it's thick snow out there (and still coming down) and thinking about the snowman we are going to make later

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 06/02/2009 09:55

morning all
had thomas' group yesterday, got there after a three hour nightmare journey on public transport, to be told it was cancled cos of the snow. because everyone else is picked up in a minibus that was ok for them cos the bus just didnt come so they assume cos of snow its not running.
but because i live out of the catchment i have to make my own way there, which is hard when its NOT snowing.
so needless to say i was extremly pissed of at spending 8 quid i didnt have on public tansport, then the bloody thing werent running
went to my mums instead as she lives up that way, then went to sainsburys on the way home. weeks shopping cost 55 quid tho, leaving me only 25 to live on this week, which is annoying as tom needs new shoes but he is going to have to wait till we get CB in a few weeks. (i shall have to put him in weelies till then, but as its snowing anyway im sure he wont mind)
so thats a 15 on gas 10 on electric, and im poor again.
i dont see how im supposed to live on this money, if it was summer then maybe but i have to run the heating cos of the kids, yet i cant really afford to
bugger
sooner DH gives up his job the better.

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 10:35

Morning all

Finally got a few minutes and have caught up with you all.

Thanks for all your good wishes and congratulations.....things are pretty hectic here, but we are slowly getting used to it. Night one at home was awful....but last night DS went from 10-4 then 4.45 - 7.30, so feel a bit more human today. DD seems to be ok so far....she needs to learn what the word "gentle" means, but she is doing really well and loves being included by "helping".

Second baby syndrome going on here - only day 2 and no visitors . when DD was born, we didn't have a single day to ourselves for the whole 2 weeks DH was off. Just building up the courage to ring MIL and have her stay for a couple of days next week

Natty - sorry to hear you're having such a shit time - hope you get some decent advice from university welfare and CAB. You did make me about Greenwich being country roads and out in the sticks though.....haven't seen those bits of Greenwich. When I moved from Kensington to forst Hill some years ago, I felt I'd moved to the sticks cos there wasn't any shops open 24 hours and the newsagent shut at 1pm on a Sunday .

Good to see you back Ria - you were missed

Right - will do birth story soon. going to go and find a couple of pics to upload to my profile so you can see how lovely my new baby is ....but you can't smell how lovely he is - I had forgotten how lovely newborns smell.

I must go and catch uo with my Feb lot as well.....babies everywhere on that thread

Hope everyone is good

JBM - how is DD? convulsions sound very scary.

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 10:45

couple of pics up. will do FB later x

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 10:49

v cute pics :O

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 06/02/2009 11:03

aw norty he is beautiful! wish i could smell him tho

JBM missed the other post, so sorry DD is so sick, do keep us updated we are worriers!

i just got a call from welcome finance. apparently we owe them 2K, even tho we only borrowed 1200 in the first place 3 years ago!

ive decided thats enough, we are going bbankrupt, we were only just keeping on top of the debts b4 tax credits cut our money by 200 a month.
now i just cant pay them, i dont have the 80 pounds a month they want.
bugger. i was hoping it wouldnt come to that.

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 06/02/2009 11:21

I held a NB yesterday and had a good sniff! He smelt like heaven! I bet your little man smells delish norty, there is nothing like it. He is v gorgeous, well done you! Hope you are coping ok. I didn't even get any pressies when ds was born, no-one gave a shit and no-one came to see us. When dd was born dp's dad came from Oz ffs!

Natty, you need to go and see the CAB or go to your local tax office in person. They are much better at sorting out things there than over the phone. Trust me I know. If needs be they will even give you a Giro to cash at the Post Office whilst they sort your claim out. If you do owe them money they cannot take it all at once, they need to give you enough to live on. They might even take £2 a week forever. Dispute the amount they say you owe them, they are fuckers and have told me I owe them thousands before, when actually they owe me money.

JBM, that must be really horrible. I had FCs when I was a baby. I think I only had 3-4 altogether, but my mum said it was the most scary thing that has ever happened to her. I was even on TVAM with Anne Diamond because of them! If it's any consolation the babies do grow out of them with no lasting harm. I hope dd doesn't have any more xxx

The stupid bitch across the road is trying to sue me for £900! When I bumped into her car in June I scratched the side and she claimed on my insurance, even though her car is a pile of shite with the wing mirrors taped on with electrical tape! Anyway, that was fine and I thought it was all done and dusted. Yesterday I get a letter through the post from the courts saying that she is suing me for damage to her car and for the hire car. The total with charges was over £900! I shat myself and phoned the insurance company who said that I need to send all correspondence to them and not to contact anyone about it. Apparently she hasn't sent the claim form back to my insurance company, so they can't process the claim. Dp thinks she is trying to pull a fast one. She had a hire car for 3 days and had a little dent in the side of her door. Seriously you couldn't see it without looking really closely. There is no way that cost £900. I said hello to her the other day and she didn't even say anything about it. Why didn't she come and speak to us? I thought she was alright, she seems like quite a nice lady. Obviously not. Stupid cow!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 06/02/2009 11:22

Natty, if you declare yourself bankrupt it costs about £500. We looked into it a while ago and didn't do it because of the cost.

LittleMissNorty · 06/02/2009 11:27

Blimey Holly you make me feel old ...I used to watch TVAM with Ann diamond

What a prat your neighbour is.....let your insurance company sort it . They'll tell her (politely) to fuck off I should think.

Natty.....Holly's advice is very good. You need to sit down with CAB face to face and get it sorted out. It can be sorted.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 12:12

Natty, DO get some advice on this.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 12:28

everybody say {{http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1136887/Weather-casualty-Abandoned-badger-cub-saved-freezi ng-temperatures-wildlife-lover.html aaawwwww!!!}}

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 12:29

bugger!!!

aaawwww!!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/02/2009 12:40

Gorgeous wee man Norty . you're doing well to find time to be on here so soon. Great sleeping too.

Nice that K enjoying being big sis - E is very good with the twins, tries to be gentle, lots of kisses & cuddles. The other day she stroked T2's face, murmuring 'sweetie pie' it was so cute. However today she tried to brush T1's hair with my hairbrush

NattyPlus2andAHalf · 06/02/2009 12:44

booked into see CAB about all of it on 19th. woman agreed on phone that bankrupsy looks to be the way to go, as our incomings have been cut dramtically thru no fault of our own, and that what we have coming in now only just covers basics.
£500 wont be an issue, as i will just short pay the rent that month and make it up in april with michaels student loan.
might take up to 2 months to arrange anyway in which case student loan is due begin april.
to be honest we knew this was coming for a while as we were only just keeping our heads above water the last year as it was.
CAB have also sent our details to their specialist tax credit ppl, she said it sounds like it wasnt our fault so maybe able to half or even write off the "overpayment"

feeling better as i know we will be ok, even if we have to choose bankrupsy, least i can afford food, which atm is getting tough.
we are having pasta bake, macroni cheese and potato bake this week, so have cut our meat in half, which saved me £15 on shopping.
kinda feel like i shouldnt have to tho, that things shouldnt be so bad i cant afford to buy the meat we usually eat (which was value as it was!!)

ah shit happens. balls to it! they aint getting ME down!

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/02/2009 13:12

Good that you're getting things sorted Natty.

JammyQueenOfTheNewYear · 06/02/2009 14:02

That's pants that you have to wait until 19th to see CAB. But glad you are getting some help.

We just went out into the garden. Jamlet not totally sure about it, but I brought out a chair for her to sit on and then she was happy to sty out while we I made a snowman. Pics on FB.
