OOh Dizzy very envious we are getting ours as a gift from my parents - I wanted the Tripp Trapp but it doesn't have a tray and our kitchen breakfast bar is too high and the dining table is glass and too much trouble to clean.

dizzydixies · 31/01/2009 21:46

we only got them once they were a bit older too oops and they now use them at the table, by the time Dylan is up and ready she can have DD1's and she'll manage on a seat

well done you, I've been clearing out down the road this weekend and cannot believe how much stuff they have

I was up the loft looking for some stuff and found my old toy pram and dolls so brought them down for DD2 as she loves dolls etc

it was hysterical as my 30yr old mothercare toy pram doesn't have swivel wheels like her toy pram - that child doesn't know she's born!!

Buckets · 31/01/2009 21:51

Ann You can get confit duck in jars from French supermarkets, though I doubt anyone's doing boozecruises at the mo with the pound the way it is.

VG Have a good day tomorrow.

No1 I always thought a folding highchair was essential but ended up getting a non-folding wooden one. Though it was a bugger to clean and the straps are screwed on (grrr) it just becomes part of the dining furniture. Do you ever fold away the one you've got? DS still sits on his (tray removed now, you can just about fit a size 12 bum in it.) I'll be going for an Antilopp as soon as the new Ikea opens in Southampton next month. Although will scavenge on Ebay for Sazzle's discontinued first.

On the subject of poo, any formula fed babies still doing mega runny poos? Really hoping it's not a sign of another chronic diarrhoea child (sighs in a martyrly motherly way).

AnnVan · 31/01/2009 21:55

We've been offered a Mama's and Papa's high chair free by a friend. So just taking her up on that really

just right Ann, you'll either love it or hate it but either way there is always the fab IKEA plastic option for when they're a bit older - I keep mine at my aunts and move it between there and Dads for when I need it mose

We got this highchair as it looked the nicest and easiest to clean - there are some right fussy overdesigned things in John Lewis (although perhaps things don't fall off those straight away as happened with our first attempt ). Were going to get an Antilop but the last really horrible stressy shouty day we had was as a result of a trip to Ikea, I can't face that again.

Good to hear from fellow declutterers; we've got rid of a load of ancient towels today, plus all our VHS tapes (two big boxes) and I have offered up most of my stash of tattoo mags for free

Good luck tonight sambo, have a fab day tomorrow VG

V impressed with T crawling, Joe still hasn't even bothered to roll

dizzydixies · 31/01/2009 22:21

oh oh tatoo mags? my DD1 has been all over the town looking for some tattoos today - I may stress the transferable type, she is only 5 after all

Done Sazzles please please don't tell TS how dismal my week has been. In my defense it has rained and rained and rained most of the week.

Evening all

and at crawling. Am v impressed...go miniMiamla!

Re highchairs - my parents gave us a M&P one for Christmas. Does have a few nooks and crannies, but has been fairly easy to clean so far as have only been giving Adam bits and pieces of vegetables...suspect that it will get a lot harder once pasta and sauce turn up on the menu...

Sambo hope the formula helps give you a bit of a break. Really don't feel bad about it - you've done so well ebf so far. Hope tonight goes well.

Sorry to hear about ill babies - Adam has joined that club. Has been a bit grizzly all day, and when he woke up from his nap he felt really hot - temp was 38.5C. Calprofen has brought it down again and am crossing every finger, toe and limb I possess that this is just a random fever due to the cold he's had and not....the chickenpox that is going round the nursery. Not sure how well a tiny would cope with chickenpox? Really wouldn't be a great way to start back at work either: 'Hi, I know I've been off for 6 months, but I need to take some time off...when? Er...now.' Well, we shall see if tomorrow brings spots I guess.

Hope the night brings sleeping babies

Night all!

Alieight · 31/01/2009 23:14

Oh, meant to say VG hope you have a great day tomorrow. And the chocs that I bought for DP mysteriously ended up being eaten by me as well...not sure how that happened

Miamla · 01/02/2009 00:26

hope tomorrow goes really well VG

trust me, to all those who have one DC.. it becomes a whole new ball game once they're crawling! eyes in the back of your head doesn't even begin to cover it!
and to all those who have more than one DC... why did nobody warn me??? he's found all the cables at the back of the tv! what do we do?? train him to leave them alone (LOL!)? put a barrier up round the dvd player, tv and freeview box? stick him in a play pen when we're not in the room? HELP!!

Miamla · 01/02/2009 00:27
