Flame....DH says you may be able to file for trade mark, then they cannot use the name. Don't know how costly that is though.

You don't have a great deal of protection under law. There is a page on a govt website - the IPO- IPO.gov.uk

EachPeachPearMum · 27/01/2009 21:12

Also- wiki 'Passing off' - quite useful.
Passing off comes under common, so would be civil suit.

EachPeachPearMum · 27/01/2009 21:17

Bah! mn crashed, and I lost a post.

Sorry Flame, can't rememebr the rest

Jas · 27/01/2009 22:35

Evening

@ heartbeat Phoenix....it is so lovely to hear.

EPPM still here. There is a limit to how much longer this will last, though
Just as well we didn't go for the Feb meet up!

Flame - Is the other bumfluff selling nappies? Sorry just found the answer to that. Googling bumfluff and bumfluff nappies found you....I had to put bumfluff.biz to find the new one.
Not sure what you can do, but EPPM seems to know what she (mrEPPM) is talking about

Yay! for new car. DP had has van brought home on the back of a tow truck this afternoon It needs a new gear box, which he says he is going to fit himself

Jag is being taken to be looked at this week though

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 10:36

Jas does that mean you have no transport now at all? Our van is now offically off the road, I declared it yesterday. I'm thinking of having a flutter at ladbrooks as to how long it will take him to get it fixed, but I know he never will, its now just an extended shed (for the larp kit that's in it) the only way it will get on the road, is if I or my dad go to the scrap yard and get the parts required (new starter motor) and then get them fitted (job for my dad again, as dh doesn't know one end of a car from the other, 'another skill lost in a generation' to quote Dave Gorman) But we need to get it on the road, to part chop it against another vehicle, possibly with the picasso.....oh gah.

EPPM you at the hospital??? (hopefully)

CSWS did you get a goodish night?

Flame, you got the car yet? if not when you getting it? Good advice on your other thread.

Jas · 28/01/2009 10:41

No, we are ok, Frizbe. DP has the Jag, and we will get a courtesy car when they take it tomorrow, just a bit up-in-the-air wrt long term.
We still have his old car, too, which would work if it had a battery but is off the raod until we know wether we can keep or sell/scrap it.

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 10:59

Phew, that's ok then Jas I'd gotten it in my head that the Jag had gone too, but yay for courtesy car my neighbour has one at the moment, little toyota yaris, we all had a play in it the other night, great car if you need a small one

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2009 12:37

You still asleep EPPM?

Jas, anything you would like to contribute here?

I got a bit more sleep last night thanks Friz. Over 5 hours I think, instead of just scraping 4.

EachPeachPearMum · 28/01/2009 13:02

Hi- yes I was at the hospital- it was my post-dates appointment!
Have scheduled a elcs for monday morning... so have 5 days to get this monkey out!

I think the consultant was trying not to laugh when I said it couldn't be on DD's birthday I think thats a reasonable request, surely?
It's going to be a weird one for her this year anyway. Think we might have to have cake and b'day tea at the weekend, just to make sure.

Still not got my car back yet.... haven't heard anything at all from them- hope thats a good sign.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2009 13:08

Why a cs rather than induction?

EachPeachPearMum · 28/01/2009 13:36

I just felt it was more controllable- no guarantees an induction will work, and I don't want to be in emcs land again.

EachPeachPearMum · 28/01/2009 20:27

FWIW- I don't think he'll last until monday, now he's been served an eviction notice!

I have had lots of downward pressure this evening- he has been headbutting me too, so just need my body to read the signals now...

Lots of walking and ironing, to encourage pressure on cervix, but no contractions yet.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/01/2009 21:01

He'd better not. We don't want you unable to drive for 6 weeks, else your first trip out will be to mine .

Frizbe · 28/01/2009 21:16

Well at least you have an end date now EPPM, tho fingers x'd he pops out naturally as it were

Flame, congrats are you out in it at the moment, or just lovingly admiring it from the house

mustrunmore · 29/01/2009 08:21

omg flame, thats shit (bumfluff not the new car!)

phoenix, but sooo glad will never be having scans and listeninig to heartbeats ever again

Er, what day didi we decide for meetup, or did we not yet? Please dont say its 14th

What you reckon about fitness for pensioners? Is that j=just a loony idea? Freelance and itinerant obv, and then that justifies me spending the rest of the day traininig at sa proper level

Also, opinions please... if you asked someone for comments cos they hadnt seen you a while, they gave nonoe, then day later emailed to ay 'yes you are looking slinky', wouod you think it was true, or would you suspect your dh had told said person to say something nice, cos dh had even said 'isnt she looking slinky' and said person had remained quiet at the time

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/01/2009 08:49

We said 14th mrm.

mustrunmore · 29/01/2009 09:16

Shit. Can we change it if I cant change my double book8ing????

EachPeachPearMum · 29/01/2009 09:38

still here

mrm- fitness for older people sounds good- as I said before 'chairobics'!

There is going to be a greater and greater need surely, as the population ages, and more people are stuck in residential homes (not nursing homes) and also day centres.
Could you combine it with learning Tai Chi? tai chi is amazing for older people as it is no-impact but can really build up muscle strength, tone, stamina, suppleness etc. V good for improving chronic conditions such as arthritis.
Or could you combine it with massage?

And for what it's worth.... no-one has called me 'slinky' for quite a while

CantSleepWontSleep · 29/01/2009 10:01

Took us ages to agree this date as the one that everyone could make mrm, so I doubt it. What have you gone and arranged now?

mustrunmore · 29/01/2009 10:23

not telling, cos it involves a subject you say I talk abou too much!

Er, you're supposed to look pg

VampiresWalkin · 29/01/2009 10:29

You chose us first!!

VampiresWalkin · 29/01/2009 10:45

Sorry, will respond to the rest now.

Thanks for all the advice Another store owner has emailed her with a "I don't know if you are aware" message - giving 24hrs before going in with a big cease and desist type email I have had written for me, one that talks about passing off etc. I would protect the name if I had a spare £250 odd

EPPM - Psycho asked for an induction date based on birthdays and weddings and they were fine with it.

Returnofthemac · 29/01/2009 14:43

Afternoon All. Is everyone getting new cars then? guess we'd better trade up the old 3 wheeler soon

Nothing interesting going on here. I have a trapped nerve so am on painkillers and ante inflammatories whilst also trying to work too. Hmm

Ds2 has in the past week, given himself a black eye by falling off the kitchen bar stool and cracked his head by falling off the back of the sofa! Notice a theme at all?

MRM fitness for oldies is a great idea but you need to be Level 3 registered to train special populations. Also I'd suspect that if I had lost lots of weight, and said friend didn't comment, said friend might be a little jealous???? Or am I just very mean?

VampiresWalkin · 29/01/2009 16:24

Bumfluff.biz is changing name She was lovely
