Miamla · 07/01/2009 14:32

pertelote, passport's in date but do i need any vaccinations?
ok, i'll stop now! i have no idea re places to meet so i'll leave that decision in someone else's capable hands! Oooh, its going to be so lovely in the Summer when we can just meet in a park with a picnic with our little ones toddling around

TS would DD1 and her friend entertain each other or am i in cuckoo land?

sambo303 · 07/01/2009 14:40

lol, I was just going to ask that!!

BucketsofReindeerPoo · 07/01/2009 14:40

Oh bloody hell, not only a new thread but 4 pages of it! Will read and catch up tonight but first I have to rant about my day.

DH still has a v sore b*ock from his snip on Mon so is delicate/grumpy. I decide to forgo cinema with Kurt in favour of the 3 of us taking some yummies to MIL who is unable to even stand after a nasty fall last week. We stop at Asda so DH can nip limp in and buy some new more supportive pants and...

I lock the keys and Kurt in the car!!! After reconsidering initial reaction to smash rear windscreen with my bare hands, I run to the onsite tyreshop and get a nice young man with a spanner and some tape to help. Of course it's feckin freezing on the drive to MIL's and I've left my coat at home.

Then FIL turns up and gets underfoot and flustered about nothing in his so-obviously-autistic way (why did we never notice before?) and I end up having to look after 4 people with various care needs! Eventually manage to get Kurt off to sleep on lounge floor and try to set up new broadband router for them but there's a prob with the port and I accidentally hang up on the support line and there's no bl**dy heating and I give up when my fingers are too cold to type.

DH has since declared his undying gratitude for me taking on his family and promises me a curry and 'a good-seeing-to' as soon as he's better. So now I'm feeling pretty saintly and about to go collect the big kids while DH calls a glass company.

Miamla · 07/01/2009 14:45

well my DS is pretty advanced for his age. He's making me cups of tea already

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 14:45

i suppose they would play happily so maybe it's just me. well it's all in the past anyway now.

i've decided to take reese to the doc this afternoon about her lack of pooping. i'm just totally confused with her intake/output. she has awesome wet diapers. she drinking massive amounts of formula. she just not pooping more that a tablespoon once maybe twice a day. A TABLESPOON IS NOT ALOT, right? am i off my rocker again with this???

plus side, i might have the doc sneak and give dd1 her shots while we are ALL there.

x post buckets I read your story about locking Kurt in the car and felt a cold chill down my spine. When ever I do something like popping out of the front door to put something in the recycling there's a little voice in my head saying 'the door will slam and ds will be locked in , he'll starve etc'

When we went to the isle of wight end of Nov, on the way back to the ferry I got in the car with my Brother, SIL and nephew whilst dp got in the car with my parents + ds. Well, I did not realise my dad had no map and no clue where the ferry port was - as I realised I started to get nervous. We arrived at the ferry port, the car with ds in is not behind us - I frantically ring dp - his phone dies before we can say anything. I frantically ring my dad - phone switched off - I was out of my mind with worry, thinking, god I'll have to wait in the cold by the ferry but will they ever find me, what if ds is hungry, I am NEVER leaving him again etc. Very frightening

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 14:51

dd1 walked at 10 months so summer toddling is what i expect here too. >

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 14:53

buckets you handled all well!!

sambo your story raises my anxiety meter.

tried shaking ds by the hand, no smiles let alone giggles. Have we a serious child here . If so, he's not going to fit in with dp and me

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 15:14

LOL!!!!!

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 15:45

fpg!!
reese is all shiney and clean.
dd1 is in the tub now.
all is happy here on our SCHOOL's CLOSED day.

AND THE SUN JUST CAME OUT!!!!

Miamla · 07/01/2009 16:04

sambo, we were hoping for a serious child to balance out the craziness of me and DP but it seems we've got a crazy one!

your locked car/absent children stories are scaring me! DP always locks the car too early IMO. we both get out, i go round and open DS's door, he locks car and heads towards house. i'm so worried that something's going to happen like i get either me or DS trapped in a car door that's locked and DP is comfy in house making a cup of tea

yay for sun in the TS household

re pooping.. DS has 2 really really pooey nappies (one after each other) every other day so it sounds like Reese is producing the same amount but in smaller, more regular intervals

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/01/2009 16:37

buckets you sound reasonibly calm with your hectic sounding day.
Wouldhave frightened me locking dcs in car.

ts Thinking about it ds only poops about onve a week, but then does about 3 in a day.

I have had a lovely soak in a very deep, hot bath. ds moaned happily whinged on the bathroom floor on lots of towels. I took his nappy, as he loves this and will kick/thrash happily for a while.
He rolled over properly yesterday, and now seems pleased with himself but gets a little frustrated as he cant get back over.

I feel quite refreshed as me and ds had a lovely cuddle and sleep on the bed for nearly 2 hours. feel a bit guilty but not much.

TwilightSurfer · 07/01/2009 16:59

yeah i figured my poop obsession was koo koo. i'm going in to the doc anyway just to get the formal stamp of approval that going back to the milk base formula (which i've already done) is okay by her (she's a lovely lovely doctor). reese is playing in her activity center like nothing in the world is wrong so i'd say all is really well with her. thanks for sharing your poop info with me. i guess we could talk poop all day long couldn't we.

my fpg card expired about 10 minutes after i got it wtf.

no1 hot relaxing bath!

Miamla · 07/01/2009 17:07

what's this "hot relaxing bath" that you've been talking about? my only interaction with the bath here in the last 6mths has been cleaning it!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/01/2009 17:13

lol miamla it is my first bath since I was pregnant. I have had 2 baths with both, bu this was all mine very hot and very deep

I add that this was only possible as my sister has my dd. Also my dniece and dnephews were that I had not had a bath for months. (my sis failed to tell them that I had been taking showers)

My dsis just called to say that she is keeping dd over night if that is still ok.

cyteen · 07/01/2009 17:21

mmmm, hot baths...

giggling: joe is rather serious a lot of the time but a game of 'nom nom nom i'm going to eat you all up' usually has him in fits also just now i bent down and kissed his nose while he was lying in the pram and got a chuckle. so obviously i had to do it about 50,000 more times. it is the best sound!

pooing: it's a rare day when joe doesn't have one or two poos, usually in the morning. he'll be feeding, poo, then pop off the breast to give me a massive cheeky smile. always makes me lol

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 07/01/2009 17:33

ah cyteen isnt it adorable when they pop of boob and give you a smile then pop themselves back on again

AnnVan · 07/01/2009 18:05

Hi all. Well I wouldn't call the night great. But not too bad either. Seems little man has decided he only needs 5 hours each night
Re giggling: he's been doing it a while now. Lots of different things set him off. he loves me singing 'the grand old duke of york' while moving him up and down with the words. Today he found it incredibly funny each time I had to get his arms out of sleeves THings that amuse this boy... He sometimes tries to smile at me while feeding then looks surprised that he's come unlatched.
