cyteen · 11/01/2009 08:29

morning all, breakfast is on the table - fruit salad, yoghurt, hot beverages of choice and porridge - help yourselves.

first off congratulations dizzy on your potential number 4 shall we expect to see you joining the October 09 ladies? i must admit, i am terribly broody the last few days. there was some prog on about v strong people last night, two of whom had got married and had a baby - as soon as i saw the new LO on the screen my ovaries pinged like a microwave DP must have heard as he simply said "you've already got one" in weary tones.

Luckily Joe reminded me that one is enough for now with his very first bout of early hours teething pain, poor love. He is demanding my attention now so will be back later.

sambo303 · 11/01/2009 12:49

lol cyteen I'm the same - after 2 hours of solid whinging from ds last night he said out of the blue 'and dont talk to me about having an other one!'...but under his breath he said 'yet' hee hee. Having said that, iud fitting is this Thursday and tbh thinking about going through it all again is nice but I;'m not really ready yet

sambo303 · 11/01/2009 12:52

sambo303 · 11/01/2009 12:56

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/01/2009 13:59

cyteen your offer of breakfast was lovely
alieight that video was wonderful. had me lol. Bless, he is gorgeous.

dd up again last night WHY WHY WHY??????
she used to sleep so well.

Did you decide where you were meeting up??

dizzydixies · 11/01/2009 14:52

new photos on facebook if anyone wants to nosey!!!

bloody miserable, cold and wet so off to do the ironing

Miamla · 11/01/2009 14:59

afternoon all, just popping on for a quick catch up

London meetup is on the 27th of Jan, location undecided but likely to be south of river (this is all from memory so i may be completely wrong!)

dizz when did you see Poppy? I don't remember you mentioning it before

DS has decided that he doesn't like sleeping in his cot after midnight. Before then, he does still wake a fair amount but after a cuddle or two and occasionally a feed, he'll go back to sleep in his cot. But, if i do exactly the same thing after midnight, no joy, tried for 2.5 hours last night. Everytime i put him down, he woke up screaming. So, last night ended up like every other night and he came into bed with me and settled fine. Anyone got any ideas? it wasn't cold, his nappy was dry, and i haven't got a clue!

cyteen · 11/01/2009 15:34

maybe he just wants to be with you and nothing else will do (probably not the answer you wanted).

pertelote · 11/01/2009 15:35

London meet-up - I think we'd settled on Giraffe on the south bank? Unless anyone can think of anything better? Waterloo did seem to be quite convenient for most...

Miamla - it's similar here. DD used to sleep through - now she'll go until about 3am, then it's either hourly wakings if I put her in the cot or a constant half sleep/half feeding thing for the rest of the night if I bring her into bed. ATM we all have colds which doesn't help - oh and on the subject of saying things you don't mean when half asleep, last night I told DH we'd deal with the sleep thing when we all felt better. "But we will never get better if we can't sleep!" was his reply . Bless him, he felt better enough today to make me breakfast

TwilightSurfer · 11/01/2009 15:49

Miamla when he gets that way and you know it's clearly that he wants to be with you, settle him in your bed. Once he's asleep place him back in his cot but with the top you're wearing wrapped around him. He'll think he's still with you.

alittlebitshy · 11/01/2009 16:22

sleep? pah!

Miamla · 11/01/2009 16:46

albs, lol! you're still having fun with yr DS?!

TS crafty idea and def one i'll be trying tonight!

cyteen, you're right! not the answer i was looking for at all!

pertelote, are you trying anything to break the cycle or are you just going with the flow?

sorry one handed typing!

alittlebitshy · 11/01/2009 17:40

he loved his pear

Miamla · 11/01/2009 18:17

cool! what else have you tried him on?

alittlebitshy · 11/01/2009 18:53

give us a chance - this is day one!

pear again tomo then carrot on tues then we'll see from there...

already he's taken to it quicker than dd but she was only 17 weeks so hardly surprising.

Chose pear cos that was dd's first thing (well, tried baby rice but understandably she wasn't impressed ) so felt nostalgic and wanting to do the same for ds.

TwilightSurfer · 11/01/2009 19:11

how cool...reese had pear today too. must have had a cosmic connection going on.

i'm not suppose to be on here. i have a room FULL of old baby clothes that i am suppose to be going through....sorting what goes to goodwill and what goes to family members who are actively ttc.

blasted internet. i am a junky.

Miamla · 11/01/2009 19:41

sorry albs, thought you'd started a few days ago! did you give it to him whole or mashed? i've been trying a combo of mashed potato with a whole carrot. he plays with the carrot but i reckon he's eating a little bit of it. He seems to love the idea of eating, including grabbing the spoon and putting it in his own mouth but its at this point he starts grimacing!

TS!! get back to work!

pertelote · 11/01/2009 19:59

No Miamla just going with the flow... though every night I resolve to do something, I just don't know what. It could be a lot worse I know, so I don't want to do anything major. I keep thinking that 6 months (and therefore weaning) and of course her op are just around the corner so I might as well wait and see...

TwilightSurfer · 11/01/2009 19:59

one overstuffed box packed and ready to ship. i must admit reese doesn't have half the clothes dd1 had. i must have been blooming mad shopping for her. however, now that i've cleaned out all of reese's old clothes i think i need to do some shopping.

i'm so glad ya'll are starting to give your lo's real foods now. it's so fun-messy.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/01/2009 20:01
