DQ - Ethan is nearly 7 months now, he hs porridge for breakfast, lunch about 5 savoury cubes, and 4 sweet, and the same at teatime but without meat then.Toast - white so far

DebInAustria · 09/01/2009 22:03

Noisy guests from hell have left and I have never seen so many bottles in the rubbish. We have 3 very quiet teachers this week instead!

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:09

Ok, Josey, I'm in competition. (See profile.) Sponge, I'm expecting now. My back garden. It's mount Snowdon!

Finally managed to beg the surgery to fit Iestyn in today (because it was too much of a faff to go down to A&E for nothing) and indeed, his eye infection isn't serious enough to warrant anything at all!

I've been trying to donate my breastmilk all week, but they've been fairly crap at getting back to me. I was all set to go down today, but they three times promised to phone me back, but didn't! I'm annoyed, because I have a huge amount frozen in London, I'm going to Wales on Sunday and can't transport it without it defrosting. Then we're getting a new kitchen at the end of Jan and the freezer will (presumably) be unplugged, and the ebm will have to be binned. So annoyed that St Georges are so crap, despite saying they're desperate for it!

Oh, any suggestions of what I can do with it?

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:10

Oh, mega cross post!
I re-use Hipp jars to store purees in, and usually Iestyn can manage 3/4 125g jar at lunchtime and teatime, but sometimes a whole jar!

FiveGoMadInDorset · 09/01/2009 22:20

Poppy that would be lovely, Sainsburys doesn't really exist around here either, we are Tesco, Asda and of course Waitrose darling. If you could get 5 or 6 pairs for 6-12 months and I will sned you a cheque/paypal

And the Archers storylines are now for real, one of my families dairy herds has TB, 4 have been shot already and 22 are waiting to be retested

pleasechange · 09/01/2009 22:22

Thanks josey - I'll mention that to the dr on Tues. Incidentally, what is the trigger for your DS?

debs glad you have quieter guests this week!

essie you'd think they'd be glad of a donation!

josey · 09/01/2009 22:24

Aw Essie lovely

Re the EBM dont take offence but do you not have to be tested for things before they can take it?

Do you know someone with a protable freezer box, like the ones you plug in the car?

josey · 09/01/2009 22:27

Allnew MSG and anything with red colouring also he is 9 and can only use baby shampoo etc though starting to grow out of that....also severe stress....when he started primary was worse his eyes cracked then.

TBH I dont know when I last used anything for him, if he is a bit dry I use E45 Junior bath but its for 12months + think you can get baby now though!

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:31

Correct, Josey, I need a HIV test (and other things) - again! Hope I haven't caught it since I got preggers, with all the injecting and shagging I've been doing.
I'd done all the negotiation, and they said I could go down to drop it off, and do the test either at the same time or soon after - they would send me to the blood test room.
But there was nobody ever there to 'receive' it!

Photo wasn't recent - it was at Easter last year.
Alas, I don't know anyone with a freezer box. I have a fridge, but it's probably not cold enough.

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:33

Oh, and meant to say - Josey reminded me. When my brother was 3 or 4 he also used to freak us all out by talking about 'when he was other people's little boy'. He had descriptions of this other mother, and their life together. We were fairly spooked.
But he also claimed John Craven was his dad at that time.

pleasechange · 09/01/2009 22:34

essie pmsl at the injecting and shagging

josey · 09/01/2009 22:38

I made John Craven a daisy chain when I was 4 he was very greatful, I have his autography somewhere!!!

My Ignorance!!!! how long does it take you to get home from London...EMB stays frozen for a long time in a freezer bag with Ice Packs....I had to use them all the time when Oli was in Hosp.

Oli is so gurny tonight, she on my knee finally dropping off I cant set her pump till she goes to sleep or she will just spew!

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:38

Yeah, alas, it's injecting only here.

josey · 09/01/2009 22:40

Oh and 2nd allnew I have visions of you pulling your socks up to store the needles and you in a long white gown to go with the sandles

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:41

Oh, I love John Craven. He's still alive. So is Tony Hart but I kept sending pictures for his Gallery and they were never used and never sent back either. So I don't like him.

Not ignorance - it's over 6 hours in the car! How long do you reckon?
And how dangerous is slightly defrosted then frozen again ebm for a healthy 7 month old baby with no digestive problems and a good immune system? (Bear in mind I use yoghurt a month after the use by, unless there's mould on it.)

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 22:41

Is Olivia down now for you?

josey · 09/01/2009 22:47

haha I loved morph! I saw Johnny Morris get his finger bitten by some ferrit thing once too that was funny!

I thought it was maybe 3-4......at this time of year a freezer box with loads of Ice packs and Ice should see you there I would say. I did Olis in HOT June and went shopping before delivered so had out for 2hours ish and it was still solid, plus that was only 30mls so would deforst quicker.

Slightly I would say would be ok, its in a sterile container so cant breed anything.....I think!!!

josey · 09/01/2009 22:55

I hate this ruddy pump....that was her sound as soon as I connect the thing thats her moaning again....I have left her lava lamp on in the hope she will get the initial moan factor!

Essie3 · 09/01/2009 23:02

I'll still feel bad about all those preemies missing out on my ebm because Georges are too slow moving.

bitofadramaqueen · 09/01/2009 23:06

That's such a shame about the hospital Essie.

Just marking my spot - thanks deb and others for sharing how much their LO's eat. Ooh, also glad you have quieter guests this week deb.

Night all!

josey · 09/01/2009 23:07

Yeah its pretty poor, just keep it in mind that you could still donate at a later date and you have at least put yourself forward.

neenztwinz · 09/01/2009 23:28

BDQ I would say about 6-10 cubes each and then they used to have baby rice too, but they started off having loads then at about 7mths started to get a but fussy but now they are back on track and eating quite a lot again.

IIRC I would put about 4/5 lentil cubes, 6/7 potato cubes and 2/3 green veg cubes in for both of them for one meal. Lunch maybe a bit smaller than tea. I'd say a portion is about the size of your fist. My advice is just make something they like and keep shovelling it in until they don't want any more. Then offer something else (yogurt or fruit and baby rice), something that tastes different cos they might have just got bored of the first thing rather than be full.

For tea now the DTs sometimes have a main course, then some Oatibix, then some fruit and then, if they are still eating, some baby rice.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 10/01/2009 08:15

Morning all.

Right any of you lovely mothers of older children have any bright ideas how to get Edie to sleep through, it is now a habit and is getting way beyond a joke. We are in the process of trying a reward chart but she either doesn't understand or doesn't give a toss but will kepp trying. Very tempted to use medised but I know that is only a short term solution.

Glad you have got nicer guests Deb, people are still coming out of the woodwork here and we are full tonight which is unheard of in January.

hedgehog1979 · 10/01/2009 10:32

Morning all,

deb glad you are going to have better guests this week

BDQ I give Isaac wholemeal homemade bread, from the breadmaker as the wholemeal loaves are really small so one slice is about enough for him.

I shall be for days now, with Essie's Mount Snowdon, Josey's gorgeous view and Sponge's Robert Plant story. I do have some lovely frozen spider's webs though. ALthough I am not going to go outside to photograph them.

Got my new nappies from the council yesterday am quite ridiculously excited. but have to wait until I have a full load before I can wash them

neenz do the DT's have an oatibix each? I am thinking of giving Isaac a weetabix but was not sure whether he could manage a whole one, or whether I should just give him a half for now.

Just reread last nights, thanks Josey there is a meeting coming up soon about all the changes so we will go along to that. She was slightly better last night in that if DH heard the door going he just said bed and she went so that will be tonights strategy.

If you go into the fields behind the farmyard we get a beautiful view of the sea.
