Am I first? Couldn't think of what to call it....

VS - I think she is hungrier, yes, I tried giving more milk, which helped, but then yesterday she spurned more milk for more food (I guess she can't take both) and she did sleep better last night. Woke once at 5.30 for drink water and then 6.30 properly. She is never hungry for her breakfast til about 8 though - does anyone else have this? Should I stop giving a ten o clock feed?

Sorry for wishing you back Ellie
My bet is it's teething, as anything else would surely have changed quicker.

R has a d&v bug, so a very unhappy little boy frowning on my return home. Not even a smile, just an annoyed frown followed by an hour's crying. Am so tired, off to have a bath and then bed now.

Oh and Scorpio and Peachy, you're both nuts. Completely mad. Must be years of sleep deprivation that made you crack up

SalLikesCoffee · 19/01/2009 21:18

Sorry sorry sorry, meant to say happy anniversary, Scorpio!

Clarissimo · 19/01/2009 21:25

Right, am confined to this thread now LOL after semi flouncing becuase of that shite super race thread in 'in the news'. have only satted a temp one though so can comne back properly LOL

Sal you might be right LOL, 9 years and counting.... however the no is a definite and I probably wouldn't ask if I didn't know that LOL

newsflash- Bas took his first step. Yay Bas, sob for my baby growing up.

Ellie if its not teething, I often find it turns out to be a bug on the way.

Simplistica · 19/01/2009 21:43

Just booked our hols, 2 weeks at sandy balls- fab. Sitting at the restaurant eating yummy things whilst ds's watch kiddy entertainment. fine by me.

Oh just thought of better name...

OverSimplistica · 19/01/2009 21:44

Far better

chipmonkey · 19/01/2009 21:47

Well done, Bas!

Ellie, sounds like teething to me. Harry was awake scratching me in the face and crying in my ear at 5 am this morning because of teeth

TheLorax · 19/01/2009 21:49

While we're all namechanging........

MommyHasaHeadache · 19/01/2009 21:57

Hmm - so who were you before TheLorax?

LadyBee · 19/01/2009 21:58

Ellie, my vote is for teething - Babybee was exactly the same - hardly cried, barely whinged, a really lovely tempered boy. For ages he whined EVERY time I had to lay him on his back, he's now on a very short fuse, especially when he gets tired but when he's distracted or playing he's his old self. He didn't have any teeth for ages and now has 5, 3 down 2 just cutting. They've come really quickly and we've still got more.
It's a really tough time for the babies I think...hard on mummies too.

Scorpio - congratulations!! lovely presents

I miss our baths. We used to have a big bath, now we have a little one - shared baths are a thing of the past.

MommyHasaHeadache · 19/01/2009 22:02

Oh and well done Bas!!! Very clever boy!

Where is Sandy Balls OS?

Poor R, Sal. Poor little guy is really going through the wars isn't he? Is he still in creche, or is he at home with your MIL now?

Tonight I bunged Gigi in her cot while I went to run her bath - came back and she was kneeling holding onto the rails and had undone the cot bumper and was looking very pleased with herself! Think it's time to lower the mattress again...

LadyBee · 19/01/2009 22:20

Sal I really feel for you, it's horrible when they're ill and R has had a run of it. Has your MIL arrived yet?

OverSimplistica · 20/01/2009 09:22

sandy balls

This name only to hide me until I return, prob as Peachy, can't get used to anything else LOL

Means I can posy anonymously and nobody knows I have no willpower lol

Soph73 · 20/01/2009 09:23

Morning all.
Ellie - sorry to hear about LO. It probably is just teething though (fingers crossed). Re: moany - you obviously haven't met me have you
Sal - hope R feels better soon.
Well done Bas. In one way I really wish Sam was crawling/shuffling/taking his first steps but in another it's quite nice knowing that when I put him somewhere he stays there! He's not sitting unaided yet but he's getting there.

Weather is complete crud again today and my washing's on the line - hey ho.

OverSimplistica · 20/01/2009 09:24

mhah don't think they should have a bumper after 6 months in case they get entangled

OverSimplistica · 20/01/2009 09:26

Soph, Sam will get there and I can tell you you'll celebrate triply (I know what its like when Harry does anything)

I cried though at the nativity wheen I had to see all the other kids doing well and Harry with 2 helpers looking dazed. Hugs x

Soph73 · 20/01/2009 09:48

OS - I understand, even when he does little things now I celebrate like a loon
I've still got the bumper on Sam's cot but that's only because when it's not there he puts his feet on the bars and uses them to twist himself sideways on & then he can't move. With the bumper & when he's in his Grobag he can't do it

Thoughts people please - Sam is on 3 meals a day. Breakfast is baby cereal & fruit, lunch is 1 savoury course & 1 fruit/yog course and dinner is the same as lunch. He used to drink a bottle in between breakfast & lunch but doesn't now so basically he's only having 2 bottles of milk a day (210 ml). Is that OK? He's not suffering or complaining I was just wondering if he should have more milk. Thanks.

Ayomi · 20/01/2009 10:06

Ellie - My dd went through the same thing over the xmas period - turned out to be 4 teeth coming through at once!

Soph I thought the same thing over meals/milk. I now give an extra bottle at tea time instead of a 'pudding' course, but i think as long as he is eating plenty of protein and calcium its probably fine.

MommyHasaHeadache · 20/01/2009 10:19

OS - the bumper is on the outside of the cot - mainly to keep breezes out. Once I lower the mattress again though, it will be made redundant.

Gigi's crawling is getting there - but she goes backwards! Lol - she keeps backing into furniture and getting stuck cos she only knows reverse and doesn't know how to put herself in 1st!

Drinking a very yummy smoothie at the mo - apple, mango and blueberries - really delish and amazingly fulling!

Soph, Gigi is 8 months old, and when I took her to see the HV the other day, she suggested I drop a feed (currently on 3 bottles a day), so I guess it's not serious that he has dropped a feed.

MommyHasaHeadache · 20/01/2009 10:20

PS - Sandy Balls looks lovely!!

Soph73 · 20/01/2009 11:11

Thanks Ayomi and MHaH. I assumed he'd be fine as he must get practically everything he needs from his food as I haven't found anything yet that he won't eat
MHaH - my DS1 never crawled but when he learnt to walk he would only go backwards, bless him! We got him one of those trolleys with bricks in & when he had that in front of him it kick-started him into walking forwards. Not sure why though

EllieG · 20/01/2009 11:25

soph - I think is fine, they seem to know what they need.

OP posts:
LadyBee · 20/01/2009 12:19

ok, so on the 'they seem to know what they need', does my boy really need to be fed at 4 in the morning? He has a fairly long BF in the morning, normally about 5 oz in the morning and 4 oz in the afternoon, then another BF before bath, then another one before bed. (Introduced BF before bath because he was so tired after he would fall asleep and I worried he wasn't getting enough).

We had another rough night last night. He gets so upset every time I try to put him back in his cot.

dear oh dear, what happened to my good sleeper?

LadyBee · 20/01/2009 12:20

oh and three good meals a day.

scorpio1 · 20/01/2009 12:33

VS - we are just on morning and night now which i am happy to do forever

Haven't decided on this years holiday yet. DH is off to Thailand so we will do that first and then see what/where we fancy.

I am soooo tired. Everybody still sleeps here though, weird.

Soph73 · 20/01/2009 13:23

LadyBee - you poor thing. I know it's easy for me to say but I guess it's just a case of persevering. Sam has been whimpering in his sleep round about 10.30/11pm for the last couple of nights. Fortunately I've gone in, given him a cuddle & put him straight back down again as he never wakes up fully.

Did we find out who TheLorax is/was?

Scorpio - very about your DH. I've still got to get the boys passports sorted, but even once I've done that we still can't afford to go on holiday.
