Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 14:18

MM - how are you doing with no bf? If Sabela keeps uo the biting we'll be heading the same way!

Sorry lilyloo - X post. Why is your driveway covered in oil? I have missed something. Your house is NOT havign a good time at the moment is it?

Lilyloo · 16/01/2009 14:55

LaT the teeth really do bring a tear to the eye don't they !

It's not actually the ouse but dp car. You may have heard me moaning about it for last couple of weeks we just got it back from garage after 2 weeks , cost £900 and it seems it's still not fixed

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 15:03

OH! the car.. I did know about that. That sounds awful! To make you feel in good company ... my best friend has just spent £2000 getting her bathroom done, particularly to have her leaking shower replaced. She now has one that leaks in two places. They have come round to fix it twice but it still leaks. And they have lost her front door keys so she had to get the locks changed. Oh. And her baby has colic... [tearing her hair out emoticon]

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2009 15:25

Hey ladies all looked fine at my scan yesterday. I have put a photo of my baby girl on my profile. It?s not the greatest because the placenta is to the front and she is very shy and kept putting her hands in front of her face but there you go. I have also put a new photo on of Xavier!

Now a catch up?.

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 15:28

Xavier is totally cute - as is DD. Amazing scan IMO. Did you have it done privately? (LaTrucha silently hopes a 4D scan is normal treatment in Spain)

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 15:38

Inspired - I have put some photos of my cheeky one up!

simpson · 16/01/2009 15:48

Lilyloo - Grrr about the car. Are you taking it back to garage?

Hope you are coming to meet up

Can't really help you on the food sorry not having party for DD really just family at my mum's as money too short and DD's not to know

Mixed mama - Have you booked train ticket yet?

Pamelat - yes I joined this thread in April last yr when DD was 3mths. Thanks for kind words LaT

Well think HV was wrong on upset tummy as DD has been much better today and today and yesterday she has had no oat milk.

simpson · 16/01/2009 16:13

X posts

Loving the pics.

Mrs Mcjnr - that scan is amazing. So definately still a girl then

LaT - love the picture of her feeding daddy

simpson · 16/01/2009 17:12

Out of interest, how much do your LOs eat for tea?

DD just eats and eats and eats till I think she might be sick and don't give her more. she never refuses iyswim.

For tea tonight she has had home cooked chicken with veg (in tub about the size of a 7mth plum pot) and wanted more so got a 2nd pot out of freezer and she ate all of that too!! Then 2 slices of toast, a hipp organic banana rice pudding jar and has now just had about 20 blueberries too

Is about this every day...Not worried she is over eating or anything, would just be interested to compare iyswim.

simpson · 16/01/2009 17:18

She has also just had a rich tea biscuit

JustKeepSwimming · 16/01/2009 17:53

Mrsmc - great news re scan - love the 2 new pics

Lat - love yours too

Must get some new ones on soon.....(another thing to add to list )

Simpson - bad news re oat milk (never even heard of oat milk before!).
H's food intake has shot up recently. his meals take forever and T is finished and long gone by the time he finishes. Just seems to keep eating and eating and eating....

Our main issue is getting enough fluid down him, he WON'T help himself with his cups, just sooo lazy and insists that you help him or he just sits there and screams then cries so i help him, knowing full well he can do it himself and each time i help him pushes back the time when he will get on with it himself! argh! but i left it a bit more the other day and he got a bit constipated.

hope Ali is having a lovely day Lucky

thinking of going to give blood in a bit - have only done it once before years ago but a friend this afternoon told me that it's happening just around the corner. May go after boys are in bed. (ouch just thinking about it though!)

sorry if i've missed any questions....

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 18:55

Simpson - do you mean two full size slices of toast? Sabela is pretty similar a lot of days but she would have about a quater to a half of one of our (bread machine bread) slices of bread. I don't thikn you've got anything to worry about though.

Sabela's food intake has increased recently although not today. She has her first molar! I didn't even realise it was coming through. I thought she was just in a bad mood because she's got a cold.

JKS - every time the 'blood' team come near me I'm either ill or pregnant!

simpson · 16/01/2009 19:02

LaT - yes 2 full slices Its dairy/soya free bread but is the same size iyswim.

I was just wondering what others ate as maybe the plum pots that I put her meals in when I freeze them are too small and if I should use anything else...

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 19:14

Most nights a plum pot would not be enough for Sabela.

I would say a average to big meal would be
about 20g of cheese, a quarter piece of bread and butter, about 100-150g main food and a yogurt.

pamelat · 16/01/2009 19:20

I was a bit worried that my DD over eats too.

Tonight she has had 2 X plum pot size of spag bol, a banana, 10 blueberries, a breadstick and a satsuma. Oh and a petit filous.

The plum pot sizes are small though, or so they seem?

She is 22.02 lbs but the HV is not worried .... yet

simpson · 16/01/2009 19:21

maybe i need to buy some bigger freezer containers then

I tend to cook in advance for DD and freeze it as Dcs can't eat the same thing. ATM DS "hates" fish/shepherds/cottage pie. Says its "yucky!" I think he associates it with "baby" food.

DD doesn't like pasta. The only meal I have found they will both eat is fish fingers, mash & baked beans

DH normally at work so found it hard cooking 2 meals every eve on my own.

Kept loads of plum/organix pots to use for freezer thinking this would be enough for her savoury dish iyswim then she would have pudding on top. But DD has other ideas

JustKeepSwimming · 16/01/2009 19:26

We use takeaway plastic tupperware-ey things.
A reason to have more takeaways

pamelat · 16/01/2009 19:36

Is anyone elses DC struggling to nap in the day? My DD was ok before Christmas and now she is very difficult to get to sleep.
Today she was up at 6, slept from 9-945am and that was it until bed time at 7pm. She fell straight to sleep exhuasted but had tried putting her down for lunch (and left her an hour and a bit) and then again at 5pm and she just would not go.
I even got in to the car and drove her around like in the newborn days and she refused to sleep.
I guess life is very exciting at the moment, for her.

LaTrucha · 16/01/2009 19:41

DD is sleeping less. She only ever has one nap now.

simpson · 16/01/2009 19:44

JKS - I don't need any more excuses for having a takeaway

Pamelat - DD only slept for an hour this morning. Had to wake her to take DS to pre school and she refused her afternoon nap too And went from midday till bedtime 6.30ish.

Think they may be getting to the age where they start to have one long one in day rather than 2 smaller naps.

simpson · 16/01/2009 19:47

Can't remember who asked but DD still has 3 bottles a day although her afternoon one she doesn't have that much of anymore...

Lilyloo · 16/01/2009 20:52

Dp just went up to dd when he came in from playing football and she had climbed out of cot and was sat playing on our bedroom floor

I actually thought she had thrown herself out of cot the other day but then presumed ds had helped her! This child is houdini!!!!

Right opted for jacket potato and chilli for Sunday with grated cheese and beans for kids!

DP taking car to garage tom am

Mrsc bet he couldn't have got that tan in Scotland The 4d scans are fab!!!

LaT she looks like you!! Love the highchair one

Simps how did you get on oat milk ? Sorry is she off neocate now? dd will eat and eat too.

Pamelat i have opposite problem dd very unsetled at night and she would sleep a lot in day if i let her!!

JKS love the take away excuse!!

Right who coming then ???? Feel free to add your name

Madmouse
Simpson
Luckysalem
Lilyloo

simpson · 16/01/2009 21:09

Lilyloo - total at martha's antics.

Did she get out by herself or did Ds or DD help?

Molly is still on neocate (must get repeat prescription tomorrow) but wanted something easy I can cook with or she can have on cereal etc so got oat milk. But seems like a no go. Can always try rice milk

but TBH have had enough of trying new things so may wait until after our next hospital appt which is Feb 12th.

Just before DD went to bed tonight I left her in front room with DS and quickly ran upstairs to get a nappy and I came down and she was at the bottom of the stairs Her crawling is getting really quick!! Have been a bit lax with the stair gate as I didn't think she could crawl that far either

Lilyloo · 16/01/2009 21:58

ooh Simps the gate will have to go up!! Although we haven't got mine back from dsis so we only have one at top of stairs and i tire of telling everyone to shut the door!!

I would stick to neocate before introducing anything else then!

She is one on her own, no nobody was in there with her, i think she puts one foot on our bed as her cot at the bottom and hoists herself over!

Guess that puts end to cc as she can come and join me

Just told dp of meet up he didn't respond

MrsMcJnr · 16/01/2009 22:15

Happy birthday Aaliyah !!! Lucky ? hope you have all had a lovely day

Housemum ? lots of kids here wear those necklaces, no idea if they work or not but would be interested to hear how you get on with it

Gingeme ? hope it?s been a cheaper day today!

Lily ? congratulations! I hope you are feeling very proud of yourself. I can?t believe your DD! That?s amazing! Damn that car!

LaT ? hope you and DD are feeling better. What?s the latest on the DB situation? Thanks for your kind words on my pics. My care is currently private here is Spain because of the blood problem I have and us not yet being properly registered with the state. I will be having DD at a state hospital though (much more likely to have a natural birth there!) They do give you 3 scans on the SS here though; 12 weeks, 20 weeks and on your due date I think. Love your new photos too, what a sweetie she is!

Mixedmama ? really pleased to hear that the situation with your ILs has improved and that you had that heart to heart with your DH about how you felt when DS1 was little. I think it is only natural that you would want your ILs playing a smaller part in your sons lives given the history. I hope it goes well with DH when you discuss an alternative plan. For what it?s worth, I would go mad if I asked my parents/ILs not to do something and they did. Totally out of order and if it is your ILs that do it then it is your DH?s responsibility to tell them so and to back you up. I hope that doesn?t make you feel worse but he too needs to respect your views or at least discuss and come to a mutual agreement with you regarding what you want for your DCs.

Madmouse ? have a lovely time with your parents great news from the physio.

Simpson ? glad to hear that the MIL isn?t coming after all but I bet you are still annoyed with her, I would be too! Glad you liked the pic! I am very envious of your DD?s eating habits, Xavier is just picking at the mo and the only things he?ll always eat are mandarin oranges!

Awen ? hope you all feel better soon happy belated birthday to Samuel!

Hey Angechica

JKS ? hope tonight is a longer one for you sleep wise!

Welcome Pamelat Ella is a lovely name. Hope DH?s interview went well.

Rockdoctor ? sorry to hear about the work situation glad to hear that Frankie is keeping you cheerful though Xavier still has 3 bottles and that we only recently dropped the 4th. He isn?t a great eater at the mo and I feel he needs his milk. I am trying to introduce cow?s milk but he isn?t very keen.
