Oh Scoot

I cant imagine how hard it is juggling work and childcare with sick babies. It must be so stressful, you will need Xmas for a rest. What are you doing this year?

Have you tried smoothies for the girls? Some of mine would drink them, some not. If they are frozen like ice cream they usually would. At least it would be something for her to eat.

Lots of love to you xxx

TheGreatScootini · 02/12/2008 11:43

Im not.Ive had enough.>>waves old white knickers in lieu of a white flag

Scoot how dreadful for you all. Smoothies sounds like a good idea or yoghurt perhaps? If their tummies are full from snotty noses then they really lose their appetities, even J isn't eating at the moment. I'm sure you are doing already but keep up the fluids. I'm sending you some sunshine...

TheGreatScootini · 02/12/2008 11:50

I am working all of Christmas and New Year!I actually laughed in the manner of a slightly derailed maniac as I typed that. Its beyond a joke
I am taking next Wednesday off though. Its my birthday and I am determined to go into Cambridge, buy a frock for a Christmas wedding we are going to, probably buy a heap of other stuff I dont need, do some Christmas shopping (have got hardly anything so far) and take a long walk along the backs in hope of meeting a sexy student type who will take me back to his rooms and read me sensuous poetry he has written himself, before I show him a thing or two.I am hoping he will lool like Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl.

Good idea Gintonic..very good!L loves Innocent smoothy. Will get some later and freeze into lollies.(Could of course make my onw but knowing my luck would have some terrible blender accident and cut off my onw thumb or something)At least she will get some vitamins that way.See.Right there.Thats why I consider you to be super mum!

Could sure do with some Sunshine Master.Send it directly.Maybe will buy one of those blue SAD lights and put the girls under it...Would an ordinary torch do the trick d'you think?Could suspend above M's cot from a string..

Mine love the innocent smoothies too, mine are lumpy apparently

Who cares as long as they eat, those baby porridge pots and smooshed fruit baby organix things are also good. Even the twins will eat them still when feeling rough. They can pretend they are yogurt and can even be warmed up if throats are scratchy.

Keep going Scoot, it will end soon. Kids get in to a rut of illness, load them the Abidec vitamins too. The twins had those when they were tiny to build them up and Minadex tonic. Tastes quite nice too. Have a swig yourself.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 02/12/2008 12:07

Say what Tonic?Where can I get it from?Boots?

It will end soon..I will collapse and will be loaded into the back of a van by men in white coats.

Melodramatic, moi?

Pinkjennybellrock · 02/12/2008 12:17

Oooh Chuck Bass. Did I tell you he's English? [repeating myself emoticon]

L will eat ice cream if she's not well, especially if her throat is sore from non-stop coughing.

I'm working all of Christmas and New Year too Scoot, we'll MN catch up.

largeginandtonic · 02/12/2008 12:20

Yep Boots and some chemists sell them both.

Minadex tonic and Abidec multivits come in jelly form and a dropper. I had dropper form for the twins as i had to add it to their milk/food.

Build em up and yourself.

JamInMyWellies · 02/12/2008 12:40

Oh Scoot love, sending you some unmumsnetty hugs ((((hug))))

So tell all PJ what happened did you all get ridiculously drunk and get chatted up by lots of inappropriate young men. SOunds lovely.

I am not working Christmas and NY but will be up 24/7 feeding a crazy baby so I will keep you company.

Am off to soft play this arvo to do some jumping around and climbing in the hope of dislodging the baby from under my ribs. Its so weird I can defo tell which way it is lying yesterday really low down practically hanging out my fanjo and today the total opp. I really dont think that this baby is making an app any time soon. Due date week today.

Oh and secret santa if you dont recieve something till after Christmas I can guarantee its from me keep surfing the net to find something lovely and cant make my mind up.

Right time for a spot of hypnobirthing affirmations and the obligitory fall asleep on the sofa within 5 mins of turning my ipod on.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 02/12/2008 12:47

ta jammy..Christmas babies are lovely though.I well up when I remember bringing L home from the hosp and settling her in her basket under the tree with all the twinkly lights. It was gorgeous. It really was.A Christmastime baby is very special I think...well, look at Jesus for example. He didnt do bad.

Pinkjennybellrock · 02/12/2008 12:51

Scoot - sorry about the hex comment. I fear my feeble attempt at humour may have upset you. See, I should not try to be funny, I have now upset two people on this thread, maybe it's time to get my coat!

Jam - it was just a bit steady, and a bit weird, as the only things that linked us were children and geography, so there was no history. And the others weren't like me, IYSWIM. I can't really explain it. Not on here anyway!!!

Aprilmeadow · 02/12/2008 12:57

Scoot you poor thing! I cant believe how unfair the bug fairy has been to you. I really hope that you all get better very very soon.

Cant stay to chat for long as having issues at the office with MIL. Her line mgr had a mtg with her yesterday to give her the lovely job description that i put together for her and also to raise a few issues with her and she went MENTAL. f'ing this and f'ing that. walked out told her mgr that she was pissing her off etc etc. Also said that she wouldnt sign the job desc as she knew i needed it (pink, does she have to sign it??). Anyway, got a message from her line mgr this am saying that MIL had told her that she almost killed herself last night and that if her dh hadnt walked in then she would have. Totally not funny as FIL did kill himself. Honestly she is the most selfish woman on this planet. Her dh has filled her head with seeking legal advice and trying to do us for... wait for it.... bullying and discrimination against her being deaf! She isnt being bullied but she has actually been bullying another member of staff. She is given jobs that she can do that dont involve the use of a telephone. I am fed up of her thinking she if the f'ing victim. DH has taken her out for lunch to give her a bollocking! I hope it works, and i tell you if she so much as trys to get us in a tribunal she will find herself homeless as we own the house she lives in and she doesnt pay a penny to live there (good job we got her and her dh to sign a legal doc to say they had no hold over the property!)

I am so much more than

Anyway, will go away and calm down, tidy the house and then pop back.

LG&T is there anything you would like me to bring tomorrow?

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 02/12/2008 12:57

It did.I cried. It was the last straw.

Of course it didnt you daft cow.

What you needed was Me to liven it up and give you a snog in the cab on the way home. That was the problem.

Pinkjennybellrock · 02/12/2008 13:02

You're right Scoot. That's exactly what it needed. Although suwoo is suggesting that I went off for a threesome with her and scarfman. I'll have to fill her in, there's only one lesbian love in my life.

AM - You can't really get her to sign the JD, it's not a contract. Why do you want her to sign it? So she agrees to the duties of the role? She agreed that when she signed her contract of employment. So so difficult as she is a family member, but if I were advising you, I'd say you need to tell her that if she feels that strongly about her issues with work, she needs to raise a grievance, in order for you to investigate it. A tribunal would not look favourably on an employer (trying to forget the son and daughter in law bit) that had not looked into issues that she is suggesting are so serious she nearly killed herself. Ring me later if you want to discuss.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 02/12/2008 13:05

And dont you forget it PJ

Some festive carolling going on here tonight, tralalalala allllleeeeeuuujaaaah. We have just been to a schools church service of Nine Lessons and Carols. Very Christmassy now, only its about 25 degrees and slightly sweaty.

TheGreatChristmasEvie · 03/12/2008 09:29

Hey SOH..Your man Paul Bettany is on Telly tomorrow morning. This Morning or GMTV, cant remember which, but know you love him so wanted to give you the nod.

I have taken the morning off work.L up all night with her sodding cough which will not go away.Mercifully M slept through.
I cant speak as have developed a sort of uber sore throat however which I think will be an issue given that Ive got a very important meeting at 2pm that I need to have my wits about me for.I BEG of you.

In the vain attempt to feel jolly I put some Christmas lights and festive greenery around my fireplace last night.M pulled it all down this morning.I cant wait to see what she will make of my grande Christmas tree when it comes on Saturday.I fear it will end in disaaarster (said in manner of Craig Revel Horwood off of Strictly)
Is Frosty here.Am getting back in bed.

Pinkjennybellrock · 03/12/2008 09:50

Hey Scoot - you need to see whether that Britney doc is repeated, it was fab! Seriously, you should see Madonna's face, it's worth sky plussing just for that. She looks like this catlady

Pinkjennybellrock · 03/12/2008 09:56

And also, the place with the golden arches won overall winner at the Personnel Today awards.
