Oooooo purple, very brave. We must see a pic. Is it national going to the hairdressers day today or something? I too have been. But I got my times mixed up and was an hour late for my highlights so had to make do with a trim.

Were you beautified all over then Pink? Matching collar and cuffs?

Enjoy yourself Lg&t. If you give birth on the train will the bubba get free train rides for life? Useful only at Christmas time, I suspect.

MrsJB, cracked open the wine yet? I'm just about to...anyone want to join me? Charley? I know you are a bit of a lush social animal.

Pinkjennybellrock · 23/12/2008 16:15

You must be joking. I will have to have mucho vodka before I get the garden tended to, owing to the state of it.

And rest assured, I will be opening the wine as soon as I get home tonight.

Thanks!!!

I have lost the will to live. Hangover from my virus I think. I have been running out of energy halfway through the day lately. Reckon a large Bombay Sapphire might help me drum some enthusiasm for making cranberry sauce and stuffing. OK, not really, but it will numb the pain. It's cocktail hour in Kenya, right?

Do you know what arrived today? A book about grammar. I bought it for myself on Amazon. It's quite sad really.

MmeJaffaB · 23/12/2008 17:39

PUT THEM BACK PJ!
(think that justified an explanation mark)

Cheers all.

Themasterandsnowballs · 24/12/2008 05:35

TYG, a large Bombay Sapphire always leads to several more perks one up. Cocktail hour is any hour in this house. Sorry to hear you are still feeling yeuky. Have you sorted the hot water out yet? A book on grammar would be quite fascinating I think.

I think I have had enough of the ILs now. For 2 OAPs they eat so bloody much. Especially MIL. Or perhaps everyone eats that much and actually I don't eat very much at all.

Should I have used a question mark there perhaps?

Pinkjennybellrock · 24/12/2008 09:07

I've never tasted Bombay Sapphire. I'm into my mojitos at the moment.

I am mucho excited!

MKG · 24/12/2008 10:57

Good Morning!!!!

Pinkjennybellrock · 24/12/2008 10:58

Morning MKG - which is the bigger deal in the States? Thanksgiving or Christmas?

MKG · 24/12/2008 11:02

Hmmmm . .. . I think Christmas, just because of the present issue. However, they are the same headache for organization and food prep.

I like Thanksgiving more though.

Pinkjennybellrock · 24/12/2008 13:35

I'm off ladies. Happy Christmas. I love you all. xxxx

@ Scoot.

Happy Christmas all. TMAM - I have a super-duper easy mincemeat recipe and it's suet free too. Remind me next year to give it to you.

All going well here apart from my girdlebuster pie which went awry because I didn't wait for the topping to cool enough. Never mind. Plenty more food to be had.

I make a mean mojito too, as it happens.

Ooh, I'm all excited about tomorrow.

charleymouse · 25/12/2008 00:10

Merry Christmas one and all.

Hope Father Christmas brings you all you want and more.

Thanks for the drink TMAM.

Cheers Girls hope you have a good one.

Have been out tonight spotting reindeer and listening for bells (FIL under window), have fed and watered Santa and the reindeer and DD wished for Daddy and Santa to love her for ever.

Luckily G has sticky eye vomit and a temperature last night but a little better today, hopefully tomorrow will be okay.

Night night Merry Christmas

JamInMyWellies · 25/12/2008 04:52

Woo hooo Merry Christmas everyone.

Have a fantabulous time hope Santa brings you everything you asked for.

xxxxxxxx

Themasterandsnowballs · 25/12/2008 12:31

Merry Christmas y'all. I am absolutely hammered, we have eaten a plenty, and the dc opened about a trillion and one presents (MrsJB, I shall be searching for endless pieces of playmobil in my sleep ). J has loved opening presents and dancing to dodgy Rolf Harris CD's. I found some mincepies at over a pound each one . The sun is shining and its hot hot hot, but I miss my family . Thank goodness I have you all. And a bottle of Bombay Sapphire.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. All our love. xxx

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 25/12/2008 14:35

Happy Christmas lovely ladies.

Hope you are all having a fantastic day x

MKG · 25/12/2008 15:27

Merry Christmas everyone!

MmeJaffaB · 25/12/2008 18:49

Not enough wine, Not enough wine, Not enough wine.

Hope you've all had a great day, it's a mad one I find! Always slightly more hectic than I want it to be. xx

charleymouse · 25/12/2008 19:28

hic hic hic

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 25/12/2008 20:21

Totally knackered now!

Kids have been really good and took their time opening presents, i think the last ones were opened about 5pm.

Think Ella got about 5 dollies as well as a pram, highchair, car seat and travel cot for them

I got a fabulous iMac from dh (had been missing my one from my old job) he has earned many brownie points

Got my Mum and Sister coming tomorrow pm for Roast Beef which will be nice, certainly quieter than today.

Hope you all got some lovely pressies x

AMeadowfullofChristmasTrees · 26/12/2008 19:02

I think i am going to SCCCCCCRRRREEEEAAAAMMMMMM!!!!!!!!

Who needs crappy MIL's when you have an annoying Aussie staying with you over the festive season! Dh's friend is back to stay for almost a week for the festive period and i am sooo cross with her. She is using this house as a posh b&b and its driving me mad. She thought that yesterday was boring as we didnt get pissed nor did we do anything exciting in the evening. FGS i spent all day cooking and opening presents as well as entertaining my dad and the IL's. So last night whilst we were putting the kids to bed she arranged to go out with a 'mate' today despite me having my Mum and Sister over for the day. I thought it was rude and am feeling thoroughly pissed off. If she had said that she had plans and was meeting with people whilst she was here, before she arrived then dh & i wouldnt have minded, but it seems that as she didnt enjoy yesterday (and spent a fair chunk of it &today telling the kids off) she would rather find something else to do. She told my sis that she loved having a 'drop off point' where she could store all her stuff so that she didnt have to carry it everywhere with her. She only seems bothered to have a nice comfy bed and shower to use rather than saying how she was looking forward to spending time with us. AND if she goes on anymore about how she is looking forward to going to see her friend in Switzerland (random bloke she met in a forum 6mths ago) then i will scream. HE does such cool stuff and takes her to amazing places....... FFS he is single, has no kids and wants to get in her knickers.

and breathe, 2,3,4

sorry about the rant
