Jas · 16/12/2008 16:27

Oh, don't all stay away.....

Hopefully things are going to improve for my friend. Her h is back at home....

School shows today and tomorrow. They have an evening performance so I have to take four of them in after tea and collect after bed time

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/12/2008 18:25

Oh Jas, how for your friend. I presume the 4th child was planned? I hope that they manage to work things out.

Lovely to hear you say that you and dp are getting on well at the moment. I think it's the first time I've heard you say that in 3.5 yrs! Do you think it's because he's got less work and thus more time to devote to his family?

EachPeachPearMum · 16/12/2008 19:26

Glad they are working on things- but it is always so stressful for families at this time of year...

Hope the school shows are lovely Jas even if it is a late night.

I made 4 litres of chilli today! It is now cooling ready to go in the freezer, yummy.

DD was a nightmare this morning- woke half a dozen times in the night, DH left at 7.30 as he is working on site today, so when she woke (about 8.45) all she did was moan for Papa, refuse to get dressed, wanted to snuggle in our bed, but then was deliberately kicking me in the bump
I know she is apprehensive about january... but she is constantly testing me at the moment.
We finally got to nursery at 11:30 but at least she went...
She was a little better this evening- mainly because she was so tired, though she was playing up for DH... presumably to hold him to account for his 'abandonment' of her this morning
It is not going to be easy the next few months- he has agreed to work onsite until march Great timing- he has had about 4 days onsite in last 18 months... and now? Gah....

How was your sleep last night CSWS?

Jas · 16/12/2008 19:33

lol csws...am I really that bad?
Definitely good for our relationship having no work, a shame no one will pay him to stay home. It has also been good for ds and dp together, so there really is always a silver lining.

Oh, EPPM, dp did that when I had dd2. Do you have any other help close by?

Apparently the show is the best for a good few years - it is usually good, which is a big achievement seeing as they include every child in the school! (approx 350)- so I am looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.

csws - no, baby no 4 wasn't planned - she has already had 3 cs and had to have lots of fertility treatment for each of the boys so it was a massive shock!

EachPeachPearMum · 16/12/2008 19:47

I agree- spending plenty of time together is really good for us too... which is why I'm miffed he's started working onsite...just as I go on leave....

Well- he's right- we'll need the money as I won't be earning this year, but even so...
MIL is 5 minutes away, and she has saved all her leave this year for when DS arrives.... so I know there'll be help there.

I am amazed when they have every child in the show...it takes up so much room in the hall for a start!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/12/2008 21:06

Last night was reasonably good for ds EPPM, although I didn't seem to benefit (in sleep terms). He slept (on our bed without me ) from 7 til nearly midnight, but I didn't go up til gone 10, and had only had about 1 1/4 hrs when he woke for a feed. We did big feed and nappy change, were up for over an hour, and he then only slept for a couple of hours before waking again, and didn't really settle well after that, so sleep was a bit here and a bit there.

He's slept well during the day today (2 hrs on our bed at lunchtime - more Christmas cards were written!), but attempts at putting him up tonight were aborted when he woke after a few mins and needed a nappy change. He's now lying on a pillow on my lap, waving his arm about and intermittently grinning at me.

I guess an unplanned baby could have put them both under a lot of extra stress Jas. Enjoy the show.

Bad timing re site visits EPPM. Isn't it always the way. Sorry to hear that dd is being difficult with you.

WellOiledWench · 17/12/2008 09:58

hello. Just off out but checking in cos its been so long its dropped off my threads on list. oops.

Jas · 17/12/2008 19:19

Ds asked to go to bed at 5
I fed him and put him to bed and he was asleep by 6

He can't be well. He's had dodgy nappies for the past two days but seemed fine other than that.

Bad mother.

EachPeachPearMum · 17/12/2008 20:13

They always need more sleep if they're ill though, poor lad.

We spent the day at the safari park- nursery trip. Am exhausted, but it was a lovely day- DD enjoyed it immensely, and I got to see everything as it was in a coach so I didn't have to drive as I usually do. They also met 'Santa' and got a present (she chose a vile cuddly kitten and was over the moon).
Early night tonight I think...

WellOiledWench · 18/12/2008 09:31

Jas, if it any consolation, ds2 fe;l asleep 5.30 nearly every day last week when he was ill and I just put him to bed in his clothes Last night I picked them up from next door at 7.30, came in, he asked for a sbcack, 2 mins latr he was assleep bolt upright on the settee

Jas · 18/12/2008 11:26

He was up at 10, 4, and 5, so I've had to cancel my last minute-without dds day out

Phoenix · 18/12/2008 18:52

You remember Hotmama who was on this thread? She had a baby boy, i've been reading the December '08 thread

for poorly boy Jas.

for sleeping (a bit more) boy csws

Hope everyone's ok

EachPeachPearMum · 18/12/2008 19:49

for Jas- sorry he is ill again...
Hi Phoenix, hope you're keeping all right.

I had to wait an hour at the sorting office today to collect a parcel unbelievable queues, and they were so slow! My back was killing me.

Jas · 18/12/2008 20:38

An hour? I hope it was something worth waiting for!

Hows the bp, Phoenix?

Another early night for ds here (one extreme to another after all those late nights when we got rid of the cot)
He has only eaten bread and banana today. I'm hoping he'll be better tomorrow. My parents are coming for a pre-Christmas visit. We won't see them again til new year

Phoenix · 18/12/2008 20:57

Hi EPPM and Jas . I'm doing ok ta, just really can't wait for my scan. BP fine, i've been checking it myself at home and am back at the docs in the morning for another check.

Hope boy is better tomorrow Jas.

Jas · 18/12/2008 21:04

Thanks for letting us know about Hotmama, too.
It is funny the way some of us have stuck here and some moved on.

Or will you all leave to your new postnatal threads eventually and leave me and WOW rattling around here on our own?

Phoenix · 18/12/2008 21:07

Nah you'll never get rid of me

OP posts:
EachPeachPearMum · 18/12/2008 21:23

They all chat way too much on the ante-natal thread- I can't keep up, so I'll just do all my moaning on here too

The parcel was Noggin the Nog books and DVD.... they were my favourite when I was a little girl, and Oliver Postgate just died so I thought I'd better get them while there were some left. They are going away for DD.... if I don't keep them for myself

Jas · 18/12/2008 21:28

Oooh, yes, I heard that.

The dds have bagpuss and clangers dvds. Bagpuss is their favourite though.

We used to fill threads up in under a month when we were antenatal

EachPeachPearMum · 18/12/2008 22:18

I will get clangers and bagpuss eventually... but they are more easily/readily available than Noggin...
It was freaky actually, as I had been toying with the idea of getting them for a while, but wasn't sure if she was really old enough... so I went to the website just to peek (again ) and it said he had died- it was way before anything was on BBC or other sites Was really odd.
They were a huge part of my childhood- I want Ivor the Engine too.

Jas · 18/12/2008 22:22

I have original Ivor the Engine books from my childhood.....

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2008 19:25

for no day out Jas. How is ds now?

Lovely news re hotmama. Is that her third, or have I imagined the middle one?

You know EPPM, it occurred to me that it's really hard to imagine your dd being difficult, when she was so sweet when we met. Just console yourself with memories of how my dd behaved that day!

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2008 19:26

Oh, and I have no plans to ever leave our thread, even when we belong on gransnet!

Jas · 19/12/2008 21:02

Her Feb baby was the middle one I think?
She had a small gap between them though if I remember right.

DS is much better today, thanks. I even dared to put him back in cloth nappies

School is out, kids are excited.

CantSleepWontSleep · 19/12/2008 21:42

You're right Jas - just checked her post.
