I thought I'd start a new thread before we run out of space...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
carrieon · 27/11/2008 12:48

{{hugs}} to you sunflower, I can feel your blood pressure rising from here! Remember tomorrow can only be better! I'd take the dairy milk advice too

You lot are so annoying, you've made me realise that I haven't changed the bed sheets since ds was born
The kids sheets have been changed but only when they get puked/snotted on.

DebitheScot · 27/11/2008 12:59

I love you carrieon I think ours have been changed once as ds2 threw up on them but thats it. And he's 12 weeks old
And ditto with the kids sheets too.

carrieon · 27/11/2008 13:40

I love you too!

Have antibiotics from doc, manuka honey (apparently this cures everything...) and yakult (to combat anti-b) from waitrose and am ordering soya lecithin from H&B to try to avoid future blocked ducts.
feeling worse by the minute, can't believe how quickly I have gone from blocked duct to mastitis and feeling like crap (literally this morning I felt fine).

potxola · 27/11/2008 15:53

Hi.
Lots of posts to read still, but I wanted to say hello. I don't have time to sit down. How do you managed with 2?.
Hopefully I am sending you hugs. I hope you get better soon. I have never had that problem and I would not know what to do. I wonder how can stop it from happening.
Star Congratulations! Well done to you both!

Pacita Can you imagined going out in Vitoria looking like we look like here in the morning?
I love that about the UK, nobody gives a monkey, where I come from people in the street notice if you only have a coat and the shoes!!!!!! They must always be clean. So being a busy mum over there without help must be a nightmare.
My brother had his first son last saturday and the room at the hospital was packed with all sort of people. I felt sorry for the new mum. I could not have BF Lorea as constantly as I did had I have all those visits.

ninja · 27/11/2008 16:29

Starlight think I will, with mil now gone and after a week home with sick and bored 4yo I think it'll help!

debs - hope things improve quickly!

hopefully - glad you've got the antib, it does worsen very quickly

izzybiz · 27/11/2008 17:08

Hi guys, I never get time to post anymore and PC has been off for a while too!

Hope you are all well and all enjoying your babies, I hope things are starting to get a bit more settled for everyone too!

Well George is 9 weeks old and a hefty 17lbs! I kid you not!

He was 10lb 10oz at birth though, I was wondering how the other BIG babies were doing, I know Blimey had one but I can't remember who had the other sorry.

Its just Im always worrying about just how big he is going to get!xx

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 27/11/2008 18:29

Izzy - that's an impressive weight! DS was 9lb 11oz at birth and 13lb 6oz at ten weeks.

Biglips · 27/11/2008 18:30

izzy - wow...thats a good weight. My dd2 was 9lb 3.5oz and was weighed a week ago 12lb 11oz at 8 weeks. (My dd1 was 9lb 1oz and weighed 14lb at 8 weeks). both were same length at birth but now dd2 seems to be about 3 cm shorter than dd1 at 8 weeks. my 4 yrs old (she turned 4 on 1st oct) dd1 is now 50.6lb (3 and a half stones) and 110cm (she got the height of a 5-6 yrs old!) but she is solid and got no fat on her at all but very heavy boned like her Dad ...dd2 is taking after me

BBaby · 27/11/2008 20:03

Hi

Not posted for a while but have been reading avidly.

Had a good day today with parents. For record my mum changes my sheets every two weeks when she's here... otherwise I'd also be sleeping on yukky sheets.

Been to see a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with mild PND... although to be honest I have felt a lot better since the weekend. Delayed euphoria at being a mother has set in and it's a lovely feeling. Just feel sad that it took me to 11 weeks to feel this way. Still - better late than never. Have been referred for some cognitive behaviour therapy which I'm hoping will give me some good skills for the rest of my life.

Put N in hug a bub sling today facing out as I wanted him to stay awake for a while having had a good long nap in the buggy with parents while I was with the shrink. But he fell asleep with his head back against me. Absolutely adorable! Got lots of complements especially as he had his teddy bear hat on!

N was 9lb at birth and 14lb 6oz at 12 weeks. I'm very proud. It's amazing to think that I've grown this little person completely myself - well there's a bit of his dad in there but I did the nurturing!

Biglips · 27/11/2008 20:52

DD2 hadnt stopped talking/cooing an shouting since last week ...at this mo she is shouting out loud at the ceiling light

Biglips · 27/11/2008 20:53

bbaby - glad youve been diagnosed early and will get all the help you will get.

lollipopmother · 27/11/2008 21:35

I've fallen well behind with this thread so apologies if this has already been covered, but has anyone looked in their LO's ears? My DD's are absolutely full to the brim with gunk. I am and that I haven't noticed before, they really are disgusting and i'm amazed she can hear through all that crap! Should I make a Dr appointment to get it all removed, or is there something that I can do?

Debs75 · 27/11/2008 21:41

you dirty buggers not changing sheets!!!

(smug emoticon) I change sheets daily launder dry and put away. always wear make-up and hair immaculate, home-cooked meals on the table by 5pm sharp...... Yawwnnnn what a lovely dream that was.
Oh pooh got nappies to wash beds to make dogs to walk dishes to wash etc..etc...etc..

Going to go for a little cry now.

Foxy your comment abput bf vs ff. Does it mean that i shouldn't worry how much i express for a feed? I can get about 5-6 oz's down her, but that can take me a couple of days to make. worried i will have to make loads of 8oz feeds.

Biglips Robyn loves looking at the big light.

lollipopmother · 27/11/2008 21:47

Biglips - My DD has a detachable arch with three bugs hanging off it and she loves those bugs more than her family! I would feel mildly hurt if she wasn't so damn cute, she just chats and chats and chats to them!

I had some professional pics taken of DD today as I had a voucher for £60 off the shoot price and also a free photo so decided to go for it and really happy I did because I got some gorgeous photos, 6 pics on a CD and 2 sets of 3 big pics with a boarder in a frame for £199. Price was a bit eye watering but the pics were just gorgeous so I couldn't cheap out. I've put a couple on my profile too.

Biglips · 27/11/2008 22:25

lollypop- do u mean wax in the ears? as my dd2 get dark orange wax in both ears which its normal. i just use the ear buds to clean it out.

Biglips · 27/11/2008 22:27

ooh and the pictures are gorgeous.... they arent gonna be babies forever so u will be glad when u look back

foxytocin · 28/11/2008 07:42

ahem dh lands in an hour... dum de dum!

debs does it work for you?

I am going to abu dhabi for in a couple weeks with dh and the girls and would like to take it.

hopefully · 28/11/2008 08:53

I am completely traumatised. We have just had an episode of what can only be described as projectile pooing... Only to be expected after 3 days without poo.
I am astonished how much the 1 formula feed is affecting the poo - BF poo was fairly unoffensive, now it is absolutely gross! Yet another benefit I'll get when he drops that night feed and goes back to being exclusively BF for a while. He only took 2oz last night before conking out, and the night before didn't take any, so i'm hoping we're not a million miles away from it.

On the plus side he fell unconscious with exhaustion within about 3 minutes of being dressed again!

Lollipop those pictures are lovely. My dad's a photographer and he's coming down this weekend, so hoping to get some good pics.

BBaby glad you're feeling a bit better.

Mastitis still present, but feeling a bit better today - lovely DP took T yesterday from when he came home, and delivered him to me for feeds and brought me soup, while I slept the rest of the time.
