I thought I'd start a new thread before we run out of space...

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Ponymum · 17/11/2008 12:59

hopefully / ninja - I thought the same thing about the mobile. I thought, what sort of toy is that for a baby?

iliketmimi - do you mean you haven't had a single puke yet?

Announcements from Ponyfamily Corporation:
ponymum has had a shower;
ponybaby's posterior output has significantly increased today;
all measures to contain output have so far been effective;
further updates from board as necessary.

LOL at doodle do- ds1 is at nursery so I'm watching grown up tv...however doodle do is my favourite...

hopefully · 17/11/2008 13:21

I will definitely try the feeding him before he wakes, and I am going to pop him in the carrier before his afternoon nap today, as that is usually his shortest and worst one (often as little as 20 mins now) and see if I can't con him into having a longer one.

Feeling much better just for reading everyone's advice - it's always nice to be reminded that I haven't yet exhausted all the options and there's still hope!

lol at ponyfamily corporation. Speaking of output, T decided to continue pooing as I removed the nappy earlier. Luckily he didn't hit me, but the changing mat was well and truly sprayed. It was like a mustard paint gun!

ninja · 17/11/2008 13:29

I feed M before she's opened her eyes as well and in general she never does! (I keep mine closed too lol!)

I'll keep my finger's crossed

Debs75 · 17/11/2008 13:39

Foxy Thanks for the offer, yes I would love to try out the babyhawk it looks really comfy. Give me your email and i will send you my address. Whichever ones you are selling could i try thjose as well??

Laughing at your hillock story, it is so true.

DebitheScot · 17/11/2008 13:44

did anyone see my questions about freezing my ebm yest eve? Its still in the fridge waiting for someone knowledgable to tell me if I can add it to the milk thats already in the freezer.

ninja · 17/11/2008 13:47

Debi I don't think that you can - but I'll find the Breastfeeding Network leaflet and check

ninja · 17/11/2008 13:52

I found this on La Leche League

Previously frozen milk that has been thawed can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. While there is limited evidence to date that milk thawed for a few hours may be refrozen, this results in further breakdown of milk components and loss of antimicrobial activity. At this time, the accepted practice is not to refreeze thawed milk.

Which is the closest I could find to your questions - I'll keep looking!

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 17/11/2008 14:10

ponymum - nope, not one single puke or even a posset. He's too tight to waste the milk

foxytocin · 17/11/2008 14:16

my email is y f forster at gmail dot com.

I have a pink gypsymama for sale too. It is a stretchy one but supposedly good enough till around 20 lbs. This one is suitable for you.

I am not selling any of my 4.7m long woven wraps though (well I think for now anyway) which are they lengths you need to do the newborn carries. You can use this length or the 5.2 meter ones which is the length of the gypsymama. I am selling off a couple other 4.2m ones plus the babyhawk.

Foxy in the interests of researching your theories of lots of sleep: When T woke from his lunchtime nap after 90 minutes, I rushed in and picked him up before he came fully awake. He didn't start rooting or wake up more, so I sssshhhed and patted while I held him (thinking I'd feed in 5 mins if nothing happened) and he nodded straight back off again! He's now been asleep for 2 hrs 10 minutes, and I can just hear him beginning to stir. I'll feed him this time when he wakes, and hope I can con him into a longer afternoon nap as well...

mustsleep · 17/11/2008 15:04

hi everyone haven;t posted for ages but thougt i would check in with you all

have just skimmed thread but it's so nice to see that others are having the same experiences as me!!

well i spoke too soon and ds is colicky too so i haven;t had much time to do anything but comfort him lol

took ds for his 8 week check 2 weeks ago and he was 12lb 12oz!! so he's a big lad and everything was fine with him

i have been told that despite doing my postnatal exercises religiously that my stomach muscles are too far apart and now i have a hernia - am being sent for a scan at some point as the doc said they need to check it out

has anyone had this before? she said something about having the muscles stitched back togther.....mmmm tummy tuck?

becaroo hope you feel better...we have all had that horrid cough/cold thing and thought i'd gotten over it and this morning seem to have developed another cold!!

has anyone got any thoughts on the fisherprice jungle jumperoo ? or had it before

Debs75 · 17/11/2008 15:19

Mustsleep My friend has seperated muscles due to 4 quick pregnancies. You can put your hand in between them and she then squeezes them together. Yes totally gross I know. She is having an op where they stitch together the muscle wall and give her a tummy tuck at the same time. Apparemtly it is quite a common procedure but it is better if you have finished having kids.

barnpot · 17/11/2008 15:21

DH? thake elli for 3 hours? pah, no chance, as good as he is with the playing and the nappy changing, he cant soothe him, as soon as i got out of the bath last night, hair still dripping it was 'jess elli crying think he needs to see a doctor' all he wanted was a cuddle, a jiggle and a bit of sssshhhhhhing, and hey presto, sleeping baby!
will just have to live with it for time being hes taking him off to see his parents tonight, no doubt i'll get a phone call at some point telling me he won't stop crying again.
anyway back from physio, she said that hes doing all the things he should be, and pleased with his progress, so as a reward i'm giving him chocolate. by which i mean i'm having a whisper bar, and hes having whisper tasting mummy milk

foxytocin · 17/11/2008 16:01

Sassyfrassy · 17/11/2008 16:27

Katie has had a rash on her face for a while and finally took her to the doctor today. She has exzema =( DD1 and DH also have exzema so I doubt she'll grow out of it.

Gotta love GF's quote in that Times article. She doesn't do herself any favours does she? And this is coming from someone who loves routines!

Kagey · 17/11/2008 17:34

Thanks for the Times link - I got a bit scared by the sheer amount of slings on offer, so wimped out and got a baby bjorn active. I'm quite cack-handed and this looked quite easy for me. I've had it a few weeks now and E seems v comfy in it, and I can get her in and out of it without any dramas.

I have though managed to break the buggy, so have to get the chassis repaired. DH not happy with me and not particularly happy with myself either. Hopefully it will not be too long. I have an emergency pushchair so will not be completely stuck although Mothercare have offered a loan one in the meantime.

foxytocin · 17/11/2008 18:02

the person who wrote the article isn't particularly knowledgeable imo. nothing she says is insightful tbh. and some of it is just wrong.
