New thread as it's Nov so our babies are all hitting 6 months!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
jinglebaiyu · 09/12/2008 16:32

Thanks Mitchell, it's nearly 5 so hopefully they'll go home and I can start to clean up all this mess!

goodchristmasgirl · 09/12/2008 17:08

jinglebaiyu You POOR thing! I really feel for you. Is it just for today?

TheSeriousSanta · 09/12/2008 17:20

JingleBaiyu and WWYAMC - Love the names.

GCG - what a WONDERFUL solution. And, won't that mean approx. £400 extra in your pocket???? And it will mean that you and DH both get to spend time with the girls AND get an input into care arrangements. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. for you!!

jinglebaiyu · 09/12/2008 17:37

Phew, they've gone. thank goodness. I think it's just for today, it looks finished and they've hoovered so feeling a bit better. Did stop me getting anything done all day and I have a very unsettled wee boy here but we're going to a friends for dinner tonight so maybe he'll just be dozier then for missing his nap. I feel like I've spent all afternoon in the dentist with all the drilling! Bring on the mulled wine!

TheSeriousSanta · 09/12/2008 18:24

Bring on the mulled wine indeed!!

Has anyone watched that show Hole in the Wall, with Dale Winton... About every 10 seconds he shouts 'bring on the wall' - I can't believe we have to pay TV licences to watch drivel like that... but every time I hear (or see) bring on the.... I automatically go WALL

I really need to get out more, don't I?

BAIyu - glad they are gone (and at least they hoovered!). Have a good night... Hope DS is just more tired, rather than over tired, IYSWIM!

goodchristmasgirl · 09/12/2008 18:54

serioussanta we would be £400 better off but DH will obviously earn less by dropping his hours so we will be about the same TBH. That doesn't bother me I'm just thrilled that we are fortunate enough in our jobs that we can make this work!

It also means I can do a bit of private physio again after work as I won't have to dash home, and private physio is very lucrative!

I also think serious shame on you! for even watching hole in the wall...I saw about 5 mins of it once and thought it was the most awful thing ever! It was the one with Vic reeves on, and it broke my heart that he was such a comedy hero of mine in the early 90's when I was at school/uni and there he was dressed in silver lycra ! What has his career come to!!!

baiyu enjoy your mulled wine...have one for me, I love it!!

TheSeriousSanta · 09/12/2008 19:22

I did say I needed to get out more!! I actually find it quite funny (though only stumbled on it because Harry Hill takes the mick out of it (Harry Hill - another comedy genius!!). I only watch TV at weekends... Am already giddy over X factor final (though, in all honesty, I couldn't give a hoot who wins!)

I didn't see Vic Reeves > DIZZY was a classic when I was at Uni.

Sorry, didn't see the bit about earnings... But, still, it IS a wonderful solution!

TheSeriousSanta · 09/12/2008 20:11

THIS is what gets me about being alone:

I have run out of milk. SO cannot have a cup of tea. I love tea.

But, to go to the shop, I have to wake DS and put him in the car seat. Then deal with Ddog trying to arm hump me cos he suffers from separation anxiety.

Then drive the car 10 minutes to the local petrol station (at least this way I don't have to get DS back out of the car to go into the shop), get milk and come home.

Then deal with Ddog going mad cos I'm home and he's missed me (for 10 minutes )

And DS being grouchy cos he's been in an out of his car seat.

Tis not fair. but I am going to do it cos I want some milk

TheSeriousSanta · 09/12/2008 20:12

And, yes, I appreciate I should have thought about the impending milk crisis when I was at the shops earlier today. why is there no GRRRRR emoticon?

goodchristmasgirl · 10/12/2008 09:40

No Tea?

!!!!!!!

You poor love!

TheSeriousSanta · 10/12/2008 10:08

I know... I didn't bother waking DS up though. I'm still drinking hot ribena cos I still haven't been to the shops..

Did you sleep well?

thefortbuilder · 10/12/2008 14:27

i know it's not ideal but on the odd occasion when we have run out of milk i've been known to use formula (especially the RTF stuff is just about passable) if we're desperate for tea

not much else to say here really, all dull.

o'h went to the dentist and got tooth sorted but had another filling that had been putting off and need 2 lots of root canal work but at least it gets my teeth sorted and i am over my dread of the dentist - used to hate the injections but having had to have 4 lots of local anasthetic topped up i had 5 lots of injections in total and was fine. I kind of figured if I could have 2 c-sections I could go to the dentist ok!!!

jinglebaiyu · 10/12/2008 15:40

LOL at flick and your formula in tea! hehe. Well done for being brave at the dentist, have a sticker! I need to make an appointment Last time I went was to have three fillings on my birthday (oops) but I think they need redone, not impressed. My dentist is near my mum's house (well, an hour away) but only NHS one I could find anywhere!

Serious I totally appreciate your dilemma. At least I can walk to get milk but it's all that bundling up and getting ready. Putting off doing it myself just now.

Finn is finally sitting up! I think he just couldn't be bothered before but we moved up to the older baby sensory class yesterday where they can all sit and lots can crawl and he was like 'yeah i can do that!'. We also got our first tooth last week, yay!

From baiyu's kitchen today - cinnamon star biscuits or choc, banana and hazelnut loaf anyone? The oven warms the house, that's my excuse! Need to get some mincemeat so the pies can begin!

gingerwench · 10/12/2008 16:32

Hi junglebaiyu well done on bearing with drilling and on Finn sitting up and first tooth! We'll be in next Baby Sensory class after Christmas so see you there

baiyu's kitchen sounds way better than mine at the minute (am trying to start cooking bolognese for dinner before DS wakes up)

Seasons greetings to all from me - not sure whether to become Gingerwinewench or Gingerwenceslas... what do you think?

thefortbuilder · 10/12/2008 17:35

gingerwenceslas is great.

i am not changing my identity with the season

jinglebaiyu i'll have some of both please if there's enough. I was being realyl good but seing TSS with a glass of wine was enough to make me want one - she of no willpower and DH has just been such an a*se on the phone that I might have a few more tonight

TSS let me know about next tuesday but it all sounds great. you are welcome at ours and we can just have some time with the boys playing together and drinking lots of tea!

not much else to report except isn't it cold????

TheSeriousSanta · 10/12/2008 18:44

Oh, I had a lovely day shopping (and drinking wine - was lovely to see you FLICK)

Train home was great, except DS decided to fill his nappy JUST as the train departed from Euston... Which would have been perfect if the objective was to gas the rest of the commuters with the smell!!!

ANyway, DS now bathed, DDog now walked (and yes it *I bloody cold), am going to get my feet up with DS...

Jinglebaiyu - some of those biccies sounds great (and I have milk again! for my tea!)

Def. Gingerwenceslas... sounds very cool!!!

Why not changing Flick? I reckon you could be Flickthelittlefirecracker... that would be cool!!

Right, best not let my housework slip

TSS xxx

goodchristmasgirl · 10/12/2008 19:15

just popping in quickly, got a friend in need on her way over for dinner (very nasty divorce ).

Yes I slept MUCH better thanks!

Had a mega busy bit good day. Went to MILs. She didn't seem too impressed with our plan??? Maybe she thinks I am de-masculating her son by making him a SAHD!!!! hee hee!

Must go, still got to make treacle sponge for pudding....

goodchristmasgirl · 10/12/2008 19:16

Oh, and I told the CM today!!!!!

She took it really well, but I could tell she was gutted.

Hmmmmm.

Should have thought of that love!!!!

TheSeriousSanta · 11/12/2008 13:19

OMG The most embarrassing thing has just happened to me: I was just shopping and someone said hello to me... I looked at them, but didn't recognise them. She said: You are TSS aren't you. Yes I say (still nothing)... Your are MRs Serious... Yes (still nothing)... SHe had to TELL how she was (DSD2's friend's mum ) and I STILL didn't recognise her

I couldn't think of anything about her (I know her DH and her DD really well) - my mind went blank and I just wittered on about DSD1's party (which was really controversial cos DH's Ex banned this woman's DD from going to the party)

I feel 6 inches tall. I just didn't recognise her from adam...

TheSeriousSanta · 11/12/2008 17:21

DH is off for a really cool night out tonight. I am SOOO jealous.

I would SOOO love to have a night out.

He's been out every night this week, but tonight is being taken for such a cool night out. I am SOOO envious....

I, as usual, am bathing a baby and walking a dog. (Not going to put a sad face, cos I'm not sad, just would like a night off once in a while!)

WHere IS* everyone?

goodchristmasgirl · 11/12/2008 18:28

I'm here!

Had another very busy but good day.

Tonight I have to fill out the application from for DD1 to go to local catholic nursery...very hard to get into...

'why do you want DC to go to catholic school?'

Ummm, cos I'm a Good catholic girl? .

Seriously though, I have a few ideas. Will ring uncle bryn Dad later and get her to check it as he was head of a catholic primary until a few years ago.

Saw my friend today who is due next week. She's had her show [excited] and a few niggles. Can't believe how far we have all come since April/May!!

goodchristmasgirl · 11/12/2008 18:29

Get him to check [blush}. No, my Dad is not a woman .

thefortbuilder · 11/12/2008 19:05

hi all
still here serious!
am rather peeved tonight. was supposed to be going out but due to pretty unreasonable pressure from dh who is going through a "i'm very busy and stressed at work and therefore very hard done by" phase, it was either go out and get loads of little nitpicky comments from him for 3 days or stay in a feel a bit crap. so i chose the latter.

not feeling too great although a long session at the dentist today means my teeth are looking fantastic!!!

nothing else to add except serious i had a similar encounter like that except it was a mum from jacob's music class who had had a baby

goodchristmasgirl · 11/12/2008 22:29

my most embarrasing moment EVER was seeing a patient at work, pregnant, then seeing her a few months weeks later and not really thinking about how time had flown and saying " you must be due anyday now?" and she said that baby was 4 months old . Oh the shame, I just wanted to disappear.

And now, having had 2 kids, I can't imagine what I did to that poor woman's self esteem.

I really should go to bed now, but my mind is still so active!

Won a buggy board (not for the CM, for ME!!) for the bugaboo on ebay, normally £45, I got it for £7!!!! And it was in the town where DH works so he collected it tonight so I didn't even have to pay the postage!

TheSeriousSanta · 12/12/2008 08:21

Hey Flick - Hope you enjoyed your night in... At least you won't get 3 days of comments (I hope, anyway, sometimes when DH is in a bit of a mood like that, he'll just find something else )

GCG - You sound like you are feeling a million times happier Well done on the buggy board!!

Your story made me

What's everyone up to for the weekend???? Dh is out Saturday night with friends, so DSDs and I will be watching X factor (DS permitting!!! he doesn't appear to be a fan of SImon Cowell!! )
