Oh, GDABDs I am so sorry you are feeling low... I have no experience of ADs, but I had CBT sessions a while ago and they were really useful (not straightaway) at understanding why I felt the way I did... I am seriously thinking of going again to see if I can resolve the issues I currently have of having to have 'my own' money...

Mocat Good news on DS at the CM and also on those scary mice!!!!

I am officially on ABs and vitamins... and painkillers and anti histamines now... I think this ear infection is quite serious - if these ABs don't work within 48 hours I have to go on a drip!

Flick - It's your call for Friday. Drs said it's not massively infectious, but to stay out contact with (public swimming pools etc) or anyone who is already under the weather... So if either of your litle fellas has sniffles etc., it might be better to put it off for a week - I wouldn't wish this on anyone!!

GDABDs - we are listening to Heads and shoulders and knees and toes right now - DS is LOVING it! THank you so much.

TSO xx

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 19/11/2008 13:13

what is CBT? Is it counselling?

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 19/11/2008 13:13

thanks so much mocat for your reassuring words. XXXXXX

gingerwench · 19/11/2008 14:02

GDABD best wishes and hope you have some better days soon

just a quick one from me - DS has the eensiest sharp spike of a tooth coming through! v exciting!

TheSeriousOne · 19/11/2008 15:17

cbt is cognetive behaviour therapy.... it looks at why we do the things we do...

thefortbuilder · 19/11/2008 17:13

TSO have just emailed you so disregard as hadn't read your latest posts - yes def think we shoudl put it off as they are both coming to the end of ABs for chesty things... that's a shame as I was really looking forward to it!

CBT is great and works best combined with ADs - i had it when i had pnd with jacob. mind you i was on prozac for pnd then but not for very long, but it does help. and one of the side effects i found strangely enough was that it made me lose weight!!! not the ideal way to shift that baby weight though

anyway not muc helse to say, both boys getting over things, dh back from ireland today

MM your booties are in the post tonight - sorry for the wait just had to get them over for you

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 08:22

DD2 is starting to commando crawl

!!!!!

thefortbuilder · 20/11/2008 08:24

wow GDABD it's the beginning of the end!!!! seriously that's great though.

ds2 has decided he hates being on his bely and starting to try and bum shuffle, or it may just be some wierd baby dancing
must go ds1 is telling me he wants to do some writing (at 2.5)

TheSeriousOne · 20/11/2008 08:54

Morning all!! We are a brighter sounding bunch this morning!!!

GDABDs - at the commando crawl!!

DS also hates being on his belly and has learned how to flip himself over now, so tummy is a thing of the past here... But he is getting the idea of baby dancing too!!

(I am feeling a million times better - the ABs are def. working)

Hope you all have lovely sunny Thursdays.

TSO x

thefortbuilder · 20/11/2008 10:10

hey TSO glad you are feeling better

it's lovely and sunny here for the moment, lets hope it lasts as apparently saturday is going to be 4 degrees although i guess we are in late november now so it should be expected!

did my last bits of christmas shopping yesterday, i think! just got to get a few little things sorted for pils in NZ and then get it all sent off. that and the christmas cards... i was really really organised and got everything really early and then have done pretty much nothing with it really! we are sending out only a few cards this year. i know it's not about the receiving them but it just really irritates me when we go to the trouble of sending out a lot (and i mean a lot) of cards and people just don't bother. i know that sounds mean spirited of me though

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 10:48

flick we ar eonly sending out a few cards too....I say that, close friends and family only...I think it's still nearly 100!!

serious glad you are feeling better and that the ABs are kicking in.

I'm feeling really good this morning. (hmmm, good days and bad days...!). I think part of the reason is I spoke to my Mum last night and told her about the PND and that I thought I might need to go onto ADs. She's very old fashioned my Mum, very british 'stiff upper lip, sweep it under the carpet' IYSWIM. I was nervous about what she'd say/think, but she was (after initially being a bit funny) great. She actually suggested to me that I go to the GP and ask for meds. She sent me a text this morning telling me how much she loves me...made me cry .

Anyway, plans are in place for the arrival of......superbro!!!!! My turn to repay the favour....he's coming about midday to stay til Saturday. He'll be just as helpful here. I think that's why I'm so bright this morning....help is on it's way!! He's lovely too and always brings me flowers and maltesers . It will be great to see him.

I've just made a chicken casserole which is cooking slowly in the oven and I'm feeling in control today.

Mitchell81 · 20/11/2008 13:00

GDABD So glad you are feeling better today I would also be happy knowing that Superbro was coming to stay.( No nappy changes or bottles till saturday then)
Ignore if not revelant but are you still doing all your exercise as I know you are quite fit with your swimming and gym. Exercise can really help with how you feel, but you probably know that being a physio.

Flick I have also nearly finished my shopping, but left afew things to still buy, but know what I am looking for. And christmas cards mostly done, have already sent the parcels and cards to SA. Feels good to be sorted doesn't it. Not that it matters if you haven't started.

TSO Glad AB are working, I love the swimming photo, very cute. When is DH home for his holiday?
No sun today, raining with forecast of snow this week, but will wait and see as often never happens.

Gingerwench Teeth are very exciting, DS2 has his 2 bottom ones and likes to bite anything or anyone that sticks there finger in.

Mocat Hope the child minder carries on being a success. And the mice stay away

Anyone seen a necklace with pendant that you put photos in, I am looking for one. (just like Ronnie from Eastenders has). I don't know if I would actually wear it but I like the idea.

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 13:55

mitchell the exercise is a bit of an issue, I'd love to be doing some but I've had a viral chest infection for about 6 weeks and can't even walk down the road without coughing so much I either gag, or wet myself, or both!!! I don't really feel unwell in myself, apart from the obvious, not physically unwell anyway. I just can't stop coughing.

Re:pendant, I don't watch EE but do you mean a locket? DH bought me one when DD1 was born and I love it and wear it lots.

GW I am a bit of the tooth. DD2 still no teeth, but DD1 didn't get any til she was 9 months!

Yay! Superbro is here!!!!!!

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 13:58

this locket

thefortbuilder · 20/11/2008 14:03

GDABD you have just hit it on the head - it's all about doing what makes you feel as if you are in control. with you on that one!

yes we are still sending out close to 50 cards but that's down from around 150 from last year

sam is back eating for england again - he had gone down to about 150g in total per day for monday and tuesday but back up to normal monster sized portions!

am going to do the advent calendar this evening i think and then start on cards tomorrow evening.

that and clearing out the last boxes from the front room so we can move everything around for the christmas tree arrival next friday!!! i am such a child when it comes to christmas

Mitchell81 · 20/11/2008 14:41

GDABD Yes locket that is what its called. Thanks for the link will keep an eye on it as Out of stock. Sorry forgot about your cough.

TheSeriousOne · 20/11/2008 14:54

Oh. My. God. I have done NOTHING for CHristmas. Nothing. I am usually so organised. One year I had everything sorted by December. This year, zilch, nada, nothing.

Haven't even thought of cards (though, like Flick said, I also get a bit peeved when I send loads out and loads of people then e-mail us and say 'oh, yes, Happy christmas') so I think we are going to do an e-mailed Christmas card this year and then send out just a few cards... Nearer 50 than 100 though...
I have this locket which is very nice. Mind you, I also have one of these of Ddog!!!

macaco · 20/11/2008 15:32

Hi everyone, glad to hear ^GDABD and Serious feeling better and exciting on the tooth front GW DS has been teething this week (already got bottom 2) and it's been really hard and I had a mini meltdown on thurs! I'm finding going to work really hard with the hours I do and the teething really put the icing on the cake, so to speak. But thank god I can see some little teeth poking thru, altho poor little bugger it looks like 2 or even 3 coming at once!!! No wonder he's been difficult!
Re Xmas cards...I tracked down a reindeer suit in mothercare so we're going to take photos of him in it and make it up into cards and send those out this year.
Just to make you all seethe with jealousy, it's sunny and 18 degrees here today!
M

TheSeriousOne · 20/11/2008 18:26

Hahaha!!! Macaco - Most British people LOVE cold, grey, drissly weather. We say we don't (because it fulfils two other of our great passions: (i) to moan and (ii) to display our stiff upper lip But, actually, we really like grey damp weather.)

I actually Do like this time of year... It's January I don't like... I'm going to take DS to see the Christmas lights be switched on on Sunday and I really love to see the Christmas lights.

Think your idea of personalised card is top notch though.. I am thinking of dressing DS up as Santa (And I can use my new red booties from Flick's website! ) - I can't wait to get them!!!

Mitchell81 · 20/11/2008 18:49

I have put my christmas card photo on my profile if you want to see.

baiyu · 20/11/2008 21:03

Hooray for the tooth Gingerwench! Sitting and growing teeth, hmm, I'm sending Finn to baby boot-camp!

Serious You're totally right. I really missed cold wet days in China last year! Really glad you and GDABD are feeling better.

You all know where I am if you want to give books for Christmas! For all those with older LO's (and nephews nieces etc) there are some amazing sticker and activity book deals which would make ace stocking fillers (and keep you quiet til a decent hour on Christmas morning!) Loads of fun stuff for all ages. Give me an e-mail if you want any into [email protected]. I'm not organised for Chrismas at all apart from having many many jars of chutney etc to give as small gifts. That won't do for DP, my parents etc etc, arg!

All's well here. I went out with DP last night! We had a bite to eat and went to see james bond. Such a lovely night (tho the film was disappointing) felt like a teenager snogging in the cinema, was brilliant! As we unlocked the door to our stairwell we could hear Finn already, think he gave my sister a bit of a hellish evening but he was all smiles for us, had a feed and went to sleep while my sis pretty much collapsed in a heap . Anyone got any tips on making DC's more baby-sitter friendly? He's totally happy to be with other people when one of us is there it's just when we leave it's the problem. I think he thinks we're never coming back. Even with my sister who's been living with us for the past 2 and a half months and he sees and plays with every day . (speaking of which she moves out this wknd i love her but I need my house back!)

Other May MNers we used to hear from a lot, bobsmum? Oh and if anyone was wondering about walkingwomb she and her DD are both fab but i don't think she really finds the time for MN much these days.

baiyu · 20/11/2008 21:10

Aaaah mitchell your photos are gorgeous!

GDABD How can I see your photos? Are they still under LM74? How do I look at your profile? Yes I'm nosey and I want to look and be jealous of your wknd away!

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 21:45

Hi baiyu I will make my profile public again for a bit. I went on a few PND threads recently and I didn't want it to be viewed on those threads IYSWIM, just on the FMLs thread.

Glad you had a good night out with DP. Me and DH had a full on long snog the other day in the kitchen while the girls played in the den. It was 'lush' and made me feel like a teenager again!!!

Lovely photos mitchell, what a great christmas photo!!

TheSeriousOne · 20/11/2008 21:45

OK, I need to have a bit of a rant about DH.

He is off out on some wild night and I am not happy about it. He called me just before 4:30 today (DS and I have had swimming lessons at that time for AGES) and because I didn't answer, I got a really snotty text saying I wasn't answering my phone and he was going out but would call later.

So, later comes and I get a call. He is in a bar. He will call around 9 UKtime when he is back in his room . He calls at 9:15... He is still in the bar (and now obviously worse for wear). He doesn't want to call me again tonight because 'he doesn't want to keep me up' .... Well, eerrr. thanks.

He says it's 'one of those nights'. I tell him I don't remember what they are anymore.

I don't mean to rant but he would go F'ing BALLISTIC if I called him from a club half cut and told him to go to bed cos I wasn't sure what time I might get in, but not to worry, and please DO text me in the morning. Absolutely ballistic. He'd go nutty, especially if he was home alone watching the kids.

It's not even that I really mind him being out, but I have no clue where he is and it does get to me that if the situations were reversed, his opinion would change in a nanosecond...

Feeling really really ticked off now.

GoodDaysAndBadDays · 20/11/2008 21:48

Oh dear serious. Is he in Russia?

I would be f'd off too. YANBU!!!!!!!
