Hiya Stormy, haven't seen you around for a while. Did you go somewhere?

Thanks storm . I've got the info thanks and so did my MW, but the sodding GP wouldn't prescribe the tablets , so I'm self medicating with a 150mg tablet once a day, but at £6 a pop it isn't cheap. The fuzz is coming off Finbo's tongue already, but my nips are still shiny and sore (but that's partly cos he isn't latching well. I don't think it's in my ducts yet thankfully.

Natty your body constantly replenishes amniotic fluid so if the leak has sealed then she will fill up again so to speak. I presume they will be monitoring her closely from here on in to make sure things are OK?

Arse about your (lack of) tablets Daisy. Will you be able to get some on Monday?

I calmed down after ranting on here before (well I wasn't a raging loon or anything, I didn't actually shout at DH at all (I think) but I was really cross inside) and now we're all OK (well I feel a little shaken).

NattyTomAndEllen · 08/11/2008 19:46

bless you jammy, you are a saint, i ALWAYS yell at DH, i feel sorry for him some days!
i found out my friend is expecting, due 2 days b4 me, this happend the last 2 times, and i lost the baby 2 weeks after finding out about my friend. so now im shitting myself even more (if thats possible). it just feels like history is going to repeat itself.
im gonna be really boring for the next 8 weeks.. sorry if im going on about it

NattyTomAndEllen · 08/11/2008 19:48

storm, i get that, i have thrush atm cos i dared to have a long bath instead of a shower. oh and i wore tight jeans afterwards cos i was going out.. so buggered myself there.
i hate it, i seem to get it at least once every 2-3 months... is this not normal? i think im a thrush freak....

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 19:54

natty, I used to get bad thrush and changed to wearing shorts rather than tiny knickers and thongs and I've never really been bothered with it since.

Jammy, the only two doctors at my practice who are happy to prescribe the fluc tablets are on holiday all next week . But, I don't think it's in my ducts so the two doses I've taken already should be enough.

Finbo's tongue is getting better and is half clear already. I've been using oral daktarin to soothe him before latching on and then the nystatin afterwards (which he hates as, having tried it myself, it tingles a lot). Last couple of feeds have been less painful for me as well so we are getting there.

NattyTomAndEllen · 08/11/2008 19:56

daisy i am pleased things getting better.. thought of u today when being measured for my new bras today (the woman tried to push feeding bras instead of support bras on me... err im 4 weeks, i think my boobs may get bigger b4 i have the baby....)

TALLULAHBELLE · 08/11/2008 20:25

Daisy - know you are up to your eyes missus but saw this on my A/N thread & thought you may be the one to advise.

By witchandchips on Fri 07-Nov-08 16:11:30
any of you got a vbac/tolac/planned section quandry? Had a long chat with lovely consultant midwife yesterday. Came into the meeting convinced to go for planned section at 38 weeks, after hearing the evidence changed our minds with the idea of going into labour naturally but booking a section soon after my due date (vbacs are less likely post 40 weeks apparently). But she only realised my advanced age (40) just as we were leaving and said this increases the change of having an emergency section quite a lot. Any body else in same boat + keen to share?

Took the liberty of linking her to your birth thread & suggested you may be able to help. Sorry { ingratiating }

educatingRia · 08/11/2008 21:12

thank you storm for rofl at my DH, I was pmsl when he told me. He may be full of bullshit but he couldn't write it down for love nor money. And obviously the money starts rolling in as soon as you put pen to paper. He fancies a job at the jobcentre - thinks he could do a better job!

fecking fireworks started at 8.45 tonightm just as DS2 was falling asleep.

that must bee good news for your friend natty if there's lots of kicking. fingers crossed for her.

hi everyone.

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 21:24

no worries tallulah; I'm happy to evangelise advise . Just logging on momentarily though as Finbo has decided that he needs more food. I think he is happy that his mouth isn't as sore and is catching up.

DD was fascinated by him feeding earlier so I asked if she wanted some of the baby's milk and she said yes and tried to climb up beside me .....maybe expressed from a cup

NattyTomAndEllen · 08/11/2008 21:37

lol daisy at ur dd, bless her. tom keeps tellin me to bf our friends baby when she visits.. strange child...

Bumperlicious · 08/11/2008 22:46

Hello, missing you all but wrapped up in my book! 15000 words to date, I am well on target (we've got a spreadsheet and everything!).

Holly, any news on DH's job?

Jammy, appreciate your anger at DH, but hopefully he'll learn not to do it again, and unfortunately it won't be long before she doesn't need any help throwing herself off various things!

Daisy, thinking of you, hope you and DS2 get better and feeding becomes less painful. You can get through this, you did so well with DD and look how she has turned out.

Although if that is anything DD it is a stroppy mare at the moment! She is really enjoying the sound of her own voice and not in a good way. She starts yelling when she doesn't get her own way (which is becoming increasingly often as her own way involves playing with things she can't have and precarious physical situations) and stops and starts again for a good long while despite forgetting what she is yelling about. It's very unlike her, she is normally so laid back. I hate to put a label on these things but is it the terrible 2's come early? Will it get worse? We have hands on hips and everything! No throwing herself on the floor yet though.

Hope you are all ok, I will pop in again tomorrow. Haven't even thought about SS yet in between writing my novel and trying to finish my dad's ultra long scarf! Has everyone filled in the SS questionnaire yet?

See you all soon!

well done bumper, good going with that book!

ellen is same at the moment, and thomas' terrible twos started at 18 months, so it is possible.
good thing is that he is only 2 1/2 and has got over most of it now, so when his friends are kicking off he is a little angel

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 23:05

terrible twos can start anytime in the second year bumper......so she is bang on target for them.

and yes....look how DD has turned out . she has started screeching at the top of her lungs for everything, even is she isn't particularly annoyed/wound up. I know she is just looking for attention. Hopefully tomorrow we can all get out to the park (weather permitting) and I can spend some time with her.

LackaDAISYcal · 08/11/2008 23:05

oh, and well done on the book bumper; I think I'll try for next year!

LittleMissNorty · 09/11/2008 08:17

We have collapsing on the floor, head down on the carpet and sobbing here......and she's forgotten what she's crying about.....it goes on and on and on......and its always about the most trivial of things.....

speaking of which.....how on earth do I get her toenails cut....we've tried awake, sleepy, gentle, forceful, one-handed, one person holding her down, asleep, sissors, clippers, in the highchair, in bed, cbeebies.........you name it

So am I the only one with a child that refuses to have her nails cut?

LittleMissNorty · 09/11/2008 08:19

Oh and I have a new niece ....5lb 13oz...and beautiful....I forgot how small they are....

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/11/2008 08:20

Morning Norty and all.

Jamlet does the head down on the carpet thing when she doesn't get what she wants - it's her "I'm so hard done by" pose. I just ignore it.

But she does let me cut her toe nails. I just do it after a nappy change when she's on the mat. I am amazed at how good she is with it tbh.

Bumper - well done on the writing!! Am

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 09/11/2008 08:22

And congrats on new niece

LittleMissNorty · 09/11/2008 08:26

Morning Jammy

Yes, I ignore her as well....eventually she gets a cuddle...she hasn't really done it to me outside of the house yet, other than minor paddy's about getting back into the buggy....I'm sure I've got all that to come

Dh still in bed snoring and I've been up since 6am.

NattyTomAndEllen · 09/11/2008 08:38

terrible twos are never as hard as you think there going to be as long as you breathe deeply and count to ten at least 10 times a day lol

we have all that here too, but having been through it with tom only a year ago im a dab hand, we have a play pen ive put in the corner and a sign above it saying "time out zone" and the minute she starts thats where she goes. start early as u can thats what i always say, im a no nonsense mummy!!

that being said she has s[ent whole days in the sling recently cos shes so clingy...
