Anyway, enough of that. How are you today Daisy?

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 19:48

And Jammy, I meant to say earlier, that I can't see any reason to worry about Jamlet. I too know others who weren't walking at this age. As she is walking with you and climbing, she obviously has no problem bearing weight on her legs, she probably just needs a bit more confidence to let go. Also if she can get where she wants to be by crawling and climbing, then maybe she doesn't see the point in making all that effort to walk iyswim. I'm sure she'll walk when she's good and ready and then there'll be no stopping her.

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 19:49

do you get annoyed with her? is it that negative attention thing that they are soo good at? Can you try and ignore it? then if she doesn't get the reaction she'll stop?

I'm fine. Bump still making creaky noises; getting BHs all day now with the odd bitey one and definately and increase in CM after the big bitey ones.......but baby isn't coming until November so......I'll just keep scrabbling away in the meantime!!

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 19:50

sorry, you've probably tried all of these things!

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 19:55

Mmmmmm, ice cream. Feels so good on my throat Unfortunately I can't eat ice cream continuously though .

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 19:56

I think I probably need to give the ignoring another go. She is definitely pushing all my buttons at the moment. She is supposed to be staying with my parents on Monday and Tuesday night and I am hoping that the break from each other might do us both good, although I am to say that. She will also get lots of attention which might help her. To be honest, I am all out of ideas and energy.

Keep on scrabbling........

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 19:57

CM Daisy?

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 19:59

and try not to worry too much about DD's reaction to Virgil. I was petrified (DD was 20 months old) but she loved him, and the pink Minnie Mouse he brought for her helped as well . She did give him the odd poke over the first few weeks when things weren't going her way but that wasn't all the time and she got over it very quickly - it was to provoke a reaction from me as she'd look at me to check I was watching and then do it. Definitely worth getting the DCs a present from Virgil and taking it to the hosp to give them when they first meet him.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 19:59

Well you could Jammy..... but it may make you feel rather sick after a while . Have the ABs not helped?

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 20:01

ABs have helped a bit, but is still sore down one side (though not as sore) and I keep coughing loads which doesn't help. I think the cough is partly due to the asthma playing up because of the infection too.

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 20:03

But I have to better by Monday. better enough to go to work at least. I got a sick note from the dovtor todau to cover me for this week just gone (I was self-certified the week before) but it only covers until today. And I can't have 3 weeks off for a cold/sore throat, that would look like taking the piss.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:08

Maybe you need some stronger ones? Just make sure you look after yourself and don't end up with something worse

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:10

BTW, have you had your tonsils out? I had mine out about 5 years ago and it made a massive difference to the amount of time I was ill, over the winter particulalry

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:12

DD finally asleep, the wrong way round but asleep. Dh just called, he's missed his stop and is in the arse-end of nowhere but at least he hasn't puked . Looks like I've got three DCs tonight..... He is taking charge from getting up time tomorrow until they are asleep on Sunday, I'm going on a mini-strike for teh sake of my own sanity. Especially as it's half term next week so no pre-school or playgroups to distract them {choked sob}

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 20:13

No, I still have my tonsils. And he's given me strong ABs already.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:13

I promise that was my last moan for tonight

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:14

Is it your tonsils that are getting infected? Is it worth asking about seeing an ENT specialist as you ahve been so poorly so many times with it?

LackaDAISYcal · 24/10/2008 20:18

cervical mucous jammy....AKA fanny snot

fairy, don't feel about wanting a break; you're only human and she sounds like very hard and frustrating work at the minute. I know how DS can make me feel at times. She will have a ball with her GPs and make sure you do something nice when you have the time. Is DS going too, or just DD?

sorry to hear your throat is still giving you grief. Maybe a different/stronger AB is called for?

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 20:19

I've not been poorly that many times, just for a VERY long time!

[wishes she hadn't asked about CM emoticon]

JammyOLantern · 24/10/2008 20:23

Well, if I'm still suffering on Wedsnesday (assuming I do make it through 2 days at work) I will be back to the GP.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:25

No DS isn't going as my Mum has a bad hip, so she can't have him over-night because she can't lift him in and out of his cot, carry him upstairs, etc and my Dad can't be around all day due to work, etc. DS and I are probably going to go over on Weds morning and all stay that night. I'm going to try and do some nice things with DS while we are on our own. The poor mite ended up being put to bed early tonight as well, through no fault of him own, because I was so wound up by DD.

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:27

That's what I meant Jammy - nothing seems to be able to clear it up completely, so maybe you need to see a specialist? I had almost continuous tonsilitis every winter for years and no ABs would clear it, I'd just keep taking course after course.

Sputnik · 24/10/2008 20:56

Fairy, sounds like you've had a godawful week, you have every right to hand over to your DH.

Congratulations on your baby maamajullah, I wasn't sure from your first post whether you'd had him yet! When my DS was born I did find myself, in a way, giving more attention to my DD. New babies are quite easy (some of them!) compared to older ones. You may spend hours feeding them and changing their nappies but after that they sleep (hopefully).

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:57

I'm off to bed, have good nights everyone

FiendishFairyFay · 24/10/2008 20:57

Thanks Sputnik
