at the end of my tether
T has been screaming for about 2 hours, since we got back from town and now we have a burst water pipee

NorthernLurker · 19/10/2008 18:52

T's screaming has caused your pipes to burst? [shcok] What lungs that boy has!

Sorry - seriously that must be awful - are you flooded out? Can you get an emergency plumber? Is it inside the house or outside? Is T a) hungry b)tired c) teething or d) all of the above?

Eddas · 19/10/2008 19:19

evening

Hensden, so lovely to hear from you again. I'd imagine you are now pretty busy but hope you can pop back on at some point. Sorry I made you cry it was very much a genuine offer, I could not have gone through childbirth alone, and unless you want it that way, i'd hate to see anyone have too. Fingers crossed you got/get your homebirth

sorry for lack of other personals, i really am rubbish

I've had a lovely weekend. I went out with the pre-school mums on friday, and although 5 of us started out and went down to 2 by 11, I had a really good night. I had far too much vodka, got in at aound 2 and my lovely children woke me at 6, so I wasn't too good on saturday eandh saved me though as she offered to have dd for a few hours whilst ds slept and I got to go back to sleep for an hour or so.

I'm looking forward to next weekend as me and eandh are taking the girls to see high school musical 3 on sunday dd doesn't know yet, but i'm excited and she has a birthday party on saturday so that's her occupied for the weekend

I need to start getting some halfterm activities planned, ie friends here/us to friends as I have no money for daytrips!

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2008 19:20

DH and the lovely guy next door have fixed it - apparentyl was just a loose valve but DH thought it was the welded one, it wasn't.
T picked up a piece of carrot, threw it on the fllor, asked to be down and then started screming for a feed. All through our tea. He's now screamig in his cot as neither of us can handle it.

NorthernLurker · 19/10/2008 19:56

In his cot is fine - he's not in charge you are! You are handling this and you're doing fine. This too will pass.
(the baby monitor isn't on is it? If it is turn it off - you don't need to hear him in stereo - you'll still hear him through floors and doors!)

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/10/2008 20:10

J is just being a PITA I think, not sure there is actually anything wrong at all!
He has his scan in the morning for his other problem and I'm dreading it, there is no way that boy is staying still enough!

First night in his new big bed tonight. So far it's going disasterously! He won't stay in it, keeps going up to M's bed. M is now in my bed and J is stairgated into their room getting cross.

Oh well!

oooggs · 19/10/2008 20:32

so sorry Dancer

caz - 4 home births I'm a scaredy cat so hospital it will be for me (less tidying up and meals cooked and served!!!)

NL - Jack is also a great book lover

luce - hope tidying went well

ellie - poor J, dts Erin destroy ds1's train track and he gets very upset about it

Sexonlegs · 19/10/2008 20:59

Hello

POTC, J settled yet?? Good luck! I am not looking forward to that transition!

Luce, fab news all round then!!! Well done on getting so much sorted out.

Caz, sorry about Dancer Next time lucky Didn't realise you had had 4 hb's!

NL, your posts make me lol! B sounds so adorable.

SMB, has peace reigned in the bear house yet?

Erm.... Brain emptied again

All ok here. B and K are on top form. I am a bit up and down about my Gran tho. I hadn't realised it would hit me so hard tbh. The funeral is on Thursday - dreading it. Luckily my Mum has spared me from doing a reading - she knew I would be in bits. My brother is flying over from Singapore and will have that job.

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2008 21:09

SOL. Can you talk to DH about it? Hope Thursday goes as well as it can be expected.
Yes, he's sleeping now, thanks (and thanks for reassurance NL). Still feel wound up and as though I want to do somehting to change the situation. Relaly wish he'd start talking, although I'm guessing he's still a little way off bribery reasoning!
Baby monitor was last seen in 2007! It interferes with te DVD player, apparently, and if not watching DVDs then probably not so loud and engrossed that we wouldn';t hear him anyway.

Sexonlegs · 19/10/2008 21:15

SMB, glad things have calmed down Dh has been great tbh; he really knows me well and can tell when I need a hug bless him. I am sure Thursday will be fine - emotional, but as to be expected. Gran is being cremated and then at some stage me, Mum and my auntie will scatter her ashes at the beach in Burton Bradstock (Dorset) where she lived for so long and where we have some really happy memories.

liath · 19/10/2008 21:15

Evening evryone.

POTC, am so happy that things are going well for you.

PMSL at "Horsenet" - the mind boggles !

Hope Hensden is snuggled up with her new arrival.

Luce, that sounds a really productive trip - I'll keep everything crossed for a stress-free move this time! We must all meet up before you go - mince pies & mulled wine at mine??

SOL, I am so sorry about your Gran . The wait for the funeral is always so hard.

We've had a quiet weekend but really nice. Went for a walk in the woods with friends today - very atmospheric & autumnal with leaves blowing in the wind.

SharpMolarBear · 19/10/2008 21:19

Your plans for scattering her ashes sound lovely
Glad you've had a nice day liath. We walked into town too, full of Autumn leaves as well, all very pretty

liath · 19/10/2008 21:21

I always froget how much I like autumn!

We had our cavity walls filled last week and suddenly have a nice toasty warm house too, which helps .

PillockOfTheCommunity · 19/10/2008 21:27

He is asleep, and in his bed too!
Hoping that me not giving in tonight will make him realise there's no point messing around

cazboldy · 19/10/2008 22:12

Yes - I only had James in hospital - then I had the others all at home.

Would highly reccommend it!

cazboldy · 19/10/2008 22:13

Oh and hope POTC and SMB manage to sort out their little terrors..... no advice here as Molly has slept in our bed for about the last week .... with Charlie joining us at about 2 am!

runnyhabbit · 19/10/2008 22:16

Evening all

Sol - Sorry about your gran But did pmsl laughing being pissed after 3 glasses of wine

Weekend didn't start too well. Was in A&E Friday night with same pain I had a few weeks ago. Not quite as bad, but enough to be x-rayed, tested etc. They think it's renal colic, there is a shadow on one of my kidneys, but I've been referred to a urologist(sp?, basically a renal/wee specialist) Could've stayed in, but they stocked me up with painkillers and suppositries, and I decided to come home.
Anyway, painkillers kicked in, so we decided to go out for our belated anniversary meal, which was fab. I love seafood, and was in total seafood heaven - Lobster, crab, oysters, prawn, langustines, etc.
Was also rather nice not having to get up for the boys this morning, as the pil had them overnight

Night night
x

elkiedee · 19/10/2008 22:38

Hope Hensden makes it back here some time to let us know about new baby, and that all has gone well for her.

oooggs · 20/10/2008 09:21

morning

school run was a rush - I think I try and do too much before I go and forget the important stuff like getting washed and dressed so it was mad panic. Need to do things differently tomorrow!

runny - seafood sounds yum

caz - you must have a big bed

ellie - how did he get on? stay in it all night?

how many of your littlest ones till have bottles? when? how much? whats your next step? when?

cazboldy · 20/10/2008 10:36

I wish oooggs!

though Charlie stayed in his bed all night last night, and Molly didn't ccome in until about 1.30.

No bottles here!

cazboldy · 20/10/2008 10:37

Oh and I don't do anything except get the kids ready - but then I come home to absolute chaos! - so I don't know which is worse really ????

NorthernLurker · 20/10/2008 10:38

no bottles here - B hs always refused to have anything to do with them! She just has one b/feed before bed. Milk in porridge for breakfast and cheese etc.
