Oh Trace, that's awful for all of you, you must be totally at the end of your tether with all this. Chloe sounds like such a fantastic little girl. Sending love to all of you.

Daisy, the email was about something else, I'll resend.

JammyOLantern · 14/10/2008 21:37

am of LOs saying actual words, mis-pronounced or not btw. All we regularly get is Ma, Da and 'ello or hiya. Occasionally get an odd other word, but they tend to be one offs. Like she said "there you are" (or an approximation of it) a couple of times one day but never again, and yesterday she said "in there" (or more like "inair") when I pointed at 2 doorways and asked if we should go in there or in there. But I don't reckon on her saying it again for some time.

HollyWeen · 14/10/2008 21:38

Daisy, I take it none of the Nov ladies want the tickets. I'm going to put them on the FFP board. I would hate to see them not be used. I would love to go, but it's too much of a fag to get up to london and park etc.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 21:39

a few have said...too big and wobbly to go, but it goes a bit quiet over there of an evening.

I'll send them over to FFP if they want them!

I love that stage when they mispronunce eerything!

DS not saying much, but today he picked up my sunglasses, slung my handbag over his shoulder and headed for the door

Sputnik · 14/10/2008 21:42

Mine is working on "digger"

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 21:43

DD good with some sounds - s, c, b words pretty clear but can't seem to say the r in words so my mum is gan. Tries to say woof when she sees a dog but can only manage to sort of blow out wh. Must have some Spanish or something in her as always calls me Mama even though I say mummy. Also says Dada & baba, must be easier sounds to make. Wouldn't worry about pronounciation till about 3. If she still can't woof by then, I'll get her seen to .

Izzybel · 14/10/2008 21:44

Aaah! She's asleep, yay! Another LO who likes shoes here too. She's always bringing me her boots wanting me to put them on for her. The other day we were at a group and she was trying to put a little boy's trainers on. I have some gold ballet pumps that she's always clomping around in!

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 21:45

@ baby Sputnik.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 21:46

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 21:47

Yep but why if they love shoes so much does DD take them off & chuck em away every time I take her out in the pram.

Sputnik · 14/10/2008 21:48

Ok Daisy, found the info I need on FB

Izzybel · 14/10/2008 21:49

Jammy, that sounds like plenty of words for Jamlets age DD often repeats words or sounds but then doesn't say it again for a while. I suppose it's because they have so many words to learn, it must be quite difficult for them to remember all the time.

Sputnik · 14/10/2008 21:50

I can't keep socks on Baby Sputnik for love nor money atm either.

And he lost a precious babygap sock out and about the other day.

HollyWeen · 14/10/2008 21:52

Ahhhh...BabyGap socks, the gold standard of child sockage! My dcs wear nothing else ! Ds still manages to pull them off though!

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 21:55

sputnik, I obviously never got the email you sent, as I don't know what you're talking about.

Or maybe I do but am having a pregnant moment?

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 21:56

I'm soooo fed up of well-meaning passersby stopping me in the street to inform me that DD has lost a shoe/ sock. For some reason she likes to have one foot bare when out & about especially when its really cold & wet so old ladies can give me disapproving looks. Am hoping the wellies will stay in place though. Seem to remember from my school days just how hard it was to get your wellies off.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 21:57

aha......I understand now

OP posts:
Sputnik · 14/10/2008 21:58

Indeed.
Don't know why no one else does cotton socks with non-slippy bits, I certainly can't find anything like that here. I am annoyed with myself that I didn't get my mum to stock up for me.

Sputnik · 14/10/2008 22:00

That's annoying isn't it Tallulah.
But I had to restrain myself from doing it when I saw a little girl missing a sock the other day.

HollyWeen · 14/10/2008 22:04

Sputnik, what do you do re bedtime for ds? I usually feed mine to sleep on the sofa and then take him up with us when we go up. He has been awake until we go to bed the last few nights and it's exhausting! He is tearing up bits of paper atm !

Ohforfoxsake · 14/10/2008 22:04

Trace, I hope you are coping OK, and Chloe is bearing up. I do feel for you. Let us know if there is anything we can do, and remember there is always someone on here if you need to rant/vent/cry.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 22:05

Well, it's fine if they've actually picked up the sock or shoe but otherwise pretty pointless. It's either in my handbag cos I'm fed up retrieving it half way across the pedestrian crossing or it's lost forever more.

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 22:09

Holly - can you tell me how the co-sleeping worked when DS was little. What did you do about pillows & covers. And how long will you do it for? Am thinking may get more sleep with DT's if in with me but not sure how to do it safely.

Sputnik · 14/10/2008 22:10

Evening Foxy

Holly, he gets fed to sleep in our bed then put in his sidecar cot thing. He never wakes after that, and our house is all on one level so not a problem - we'd hear if he woke.

Did he sleep a lot in the day today? We sometimes get problems if that happens.
