Hi Ekka

Sorry, am going to love you and leave you all. I'm making pea and ham soup with ham stock from our tea. Catch you all v soon I hope! And Jammy, there is v little a baby wipe won't get out!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:17

Ekka, if baby does arrive before the pool, it's worth contacting them and seeing if it's too late to cancel the order and get a refund. I hadn't got my tens machine by the time I had DD and managed to stop them dispatching it and got a full refund. I know it was only £25 not £300, but was still nice not to waste that money.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 21:19

Hi Ekka

When are you due again? I'm the 6th November and am officially 37 weeks on Thursday. I'll try and keep my legs crossed until after you've got the chance to use your pool!

Ah, maybe it's because I shop at sainsbos daisy.

Really am going!

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:20

Daisy, Jamlet has about 100ml milk with her breakfast (plus any on her cereal) and about 150ml before bed. Is that about 3+ and 5ish ounces? She has cheese and yoghurt as well most days, but normally not a huge amount of milk itself.

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:23

Yeah, Sainsburys bargains have really gone downhill the past few months. And they've twigged and stopped their tills doing "multisave" offers on reduced items. We used to for example buy 2 packs sausages that were originally £2 each or 2 for £3, but we bought them at £1.50 each, and would still get the £1 knocked off. Some things would even be so reduced that once the multisave value came off they actually owed us money!! Had to make sure you bought plenty of other stuff so the saving got lost in the total though or the till person would get a bit upset.

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 21:26

Daisy, sounds similar here. Cup of milk before breakfast, perhaps one in the day, perhaps another, then some at bedtime. She's been bf in the night too, but only when I'm desperate for her to sleep (and DPs not around - he has ishoos with it now )

JammyOLantern · 13/10/2008 21:32

OK, I need some rest. Have stayed awake all day after serious early-hours insomnia last night (was up from 1.15 til 5am) and am now worn out. Hopefully a better night tonight. Sweet dreams everybody!

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 21:41

lol....jammy by name eh?

i'll try not to stress too much about it; she still has tummy issues going on so as long as she is getting something in there. I just worry that as she is so dinky, she just doesn't have enough in reserve, and that I am obviously neglecting her.

Evening! Now you've all gone!!
Thanks for your wishes Bumper.
Today was the first day back to normal as DP went back to work after a week off - so will have to see how I go!

I don't know whats happened to L - today she was probably more on my boob than off and its not 'cos she's hungry or thirsty or anything. She signs for milk even straight out of the high chair. Im gonna end up with seriously chewed nips soon. Any suggestions?? Do I just be cruel and say no?

Hope you're meds kick in soon Jammy and that Daisy is ok.
What time do you leave the house in the morning Bumper and what time do you get home??
BTW Foxy - how old are you're in laws? My "MIL" farts as she stands up and walks to the loo as she is late 70's - so ladies.... "PELVIC FLOORS" or else thats how we'll end up!!

Ohforfoxsake · 13/10/2008 21:52

Oh god no! Please don't tell me we'll all end up on here complaining of our lax bottoms and our moaning DILs

How are you JBM? Do you want to stop feeding? I stopped feeding during the day. She would thrust both arms down my top, one on each side of my breast and hoik it out and try to stuff it in her mouth. Then she'd get really, really arsey if I said no. Now I get her a cup of milk instead, but if she's really pissing around in the wee small hours I'll give in.

And on that note, I get to sleep in my own bed tonight, and not squished in with one of the children, so night all!

justbeme · 13/10/2008 22:17

and they're normally wet sounding long ones Foxy!!!! (thats supposed to be bleurghh)

I don't want to stop right away, but wonder how I will stop when its time in the next 4 mths or so. She has taken to stuffing her hand down my top and squeezing my nip too!! My tops are all getting stretched necks from her constant pulling!!

Right Im off - but any other suggestions pls!!

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/10/2008 22:37

Just popped in to say hello before bed. Daisy - is the itching thrush? My doc recently prescribed Canesten & you can get that without a script I believe. I am seriously itchy all over my bump, it drives me crazy. Think it's just the hormones but nothing relieves it.

My DD eats me out of house & home, can't understand why she's so wee, still mostly in 9-12 months clothes. Has own brekkie then mooches for bits of my toast or whatever. She will ask for fruit or crackers every time she comes into the kitchen, has raisins, fruit bars, breadsticks etc through the day. Eats the same amount of lunch as me -full sandwich, soup & bread, beans on toast etc followed by fruit/yogurt and decent portion evening meal again with either fruit or yogurt. The only things she refuses to eat are rice pudding & lettuce. No one can get peace to eat anything in front of her, she is like a little table scraps dog, standing pitifully begging for morsels as if I starve her. I wonder if it's a hangover from demand b/f where I fed her whenever she cried & looking back she probably wasn't hungry a lot of the time. Hope I'm not setting her up for a lifetime of comfort eating.

TALLULAHBELLE · 13/10/2008 22:40

Sorry no suggestions on the b/f JBM, my DD just self-weaned,came as bit of a surprise but hey. Just wanted to say YUCK on the wet farts. Good night.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 22:46

I didn't think it was thrush as there is no discharge (apologies TMI , but it might be fungal in origin due to constant wearing of tena lady pads

Maybe I need to air my bottom for an hour a day like I do with DD . I'll try some canesten on it over night and see if it improves...if not, I'll work my way steadily through the collection of creams I have amassed for DDs various rashes; something will work!

One of my November buddies, merrymarigold (i think you know her from the twins thread) has had horrible itching recently, poor thing. My SIL was the same with hers; she was told it's just the skin being under so much pressure from two babies.

DD used to eat like that, but recently not so much.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 13/10/2008 22:48

again, no advice on the BFing jbm, sorry. dd sort of self weaned as well early on in my pregnancy.

and ew ew ew to the wet farts . I'm assuming they aren't emanating from her bowels?

HollyWeen · 14/10/2008 09:12

JBM, we are having the same bfing ishoos here. Every time I sit down ds climbs on me and shoves his hand up my top! He just yells and yells until I let him bf. Atm he is on about 10 feeds a day (hence the lack of eating I think). I am hoping it is just a phase that he will grow out of once he is able to understand a bit of reason! I don't want to stop for at least another year or so, but I just want to get the frequency of feeds down. So no advice here, just sympathy!

Tallulah, I had the itchy bump thing with ds as well. It was just the skin stretching because of the amount of baby in there! After all ds was the same size as twins! If I'd have had twins they would have been 5lb 4oz each, which I think is about average! It is bloody annoying though, I remember it well.

Daisy, I now have pictures in my head of you running round the house like a toddler. Bottom half naked with a juice cup in your hand watching Cbeebies! It is a bad picture and I shall now bash my head against the table to make it go away !

TALLULAHBELLE · 14/10/2008 09:21

Actually the airing thing is probably a good idea. Maybe just not quite as Holly has described .

HollyWeen · 14/10/2008 09:24

AAARRRGGGHHH make the bad mental image go away!!

I am sat here fucking around on MN and I have to leave for toddlers in 15 mins and I'm not even dressed! Oh shit, just realised dp has gone to work with the pushchair in his car! Arse!

Ekka · 14/10/2008 10:24

Foxy ? no ?real life? other than trying to stay awake while dd climbs over me and gets bored cos I don?t have the energy to take her to the park etc. Can?t use the computer during the day as dd pulls off the keys (we already have a couple that fall off as soon as you touch them).

Jammy ? unfortunately I won?t get a refund for the pool, but I'm keeping my legs crossed and so far, no signs of imminent labour. I?m 38 weeks tomorrow (due 29 Oct Daisy) and by tomorrow night the pool will have arrived, so really there shouldn?t be anything to panic about .

Also not much advice on bf ? dd also self-weaned a few months ago. The only feed I got her to drop was her mid-morning one ? which she had just before her nap. One weekend I sent dh up with her to read a story and give her a cup of cows milk for that feed and she never looked back. But from other people?s experiences it does sound as if I?ve had it easy!

I?m planning on having a nice day ? dh has dropped dd off at the childminders and I?m going to enjoy a relaxing coffee in town with a friend? Can?t believe I?m so excited about this!!!! Don?t have to pick up dd till 5.30 (assuming that she survives that long ? she?s teething so have told the childminder that if she?s really upset I?ll pick her up early) so I?m hoping to get some rest lots done

Ohforfoxsake · 14/10/2008 11:12

Holly, thanks for sharing that. I too now how a very peculiar mental image of Daisy with a juice cup in her hand

Sorry Daisy, we are all thinking of you (but not in a good way now!)

Might be worth checking in with the doctors about the itching (both of you). There is something itching related which can cause a problem, although I think it is hands and feet or something? Still, might be worth a call to the MW for some reassurance (not wanting to alarm anyone though, I'm sure you are both fine!)

Ohforfoxsake · 14/10/2008 11:13

fuckadoodledoo, LO has just climbed up onto the sofa. shit.

JammyOLantern · 14/10/2008 12:02

Morning all

I am PMSL at that image of Daisy. And I fear it wont be long before jamlet can get up onto the sofa by herself. She loves being on the sofa because she can then look out of the window and play with our collection of cat ornaments on the windowsill. Oh and investigate the mini chest of drawers which is home to nail clippers, batteries, buttons, odd screws etc . Time to relocate all those bits I think.

Off work again. Was in two minds this morning until I carried jamlet upstairs which brought on a mahoosive coughing fit, so I collapsed on the bed and declared I wasn't going in today.

LackaDAISYcal · 14/10/2008 12:34

You do right jammy...get yourself 100% well or you'll never shake it.

Well done foxcub; there'll be no stopping her nos foxy

lol at your image of me holly . Itching better today so am thinking fungal in origin.

I have just woken up . Had a great night's sleep last night as well...well a three hour then two hour stint...thanks to a little nest of pillows I made for myself, but still felt like death warmed up this morning. DD was really grumpy as well and cuddling in which isn't like her at all, so I put her down for a nap after the school run and then curled up on the bed and woke up two and a half hours later.

DD has also eaten a little today, weetabix for brekkie and half a slice of bread, half a banana and some raisins for lunch, so not bad. I'm making curry for tea which she usually shovels in by the handful so here's hoping.

And, I checked my childcare voucher account yesterday (I'd lost my ref No and Pin No) thinking there was about £100 in there from before my maternity leave with DD....and there is £415 . That I can't use for anything other than registered childcare . I thought there was some way of getting it back provided you pay the tax and NI on it, but not according to the website (they may have changed the rules). If I could get my hands on it that's my pram paid for! Will need to get onto HR about it pronto. If I can't get it back, I might consider putting DD into nursery/playgroup a couple of mornings a week; Ekka's day child free is making me very

OP posts:
JammyOLantern · 14/10/2008 12:53

That's nothing Daisy - DH has been claiming busy bee child care vouchers with his salary, but not actually spent any of them yet (cause he hasn't bothered setting it up). So he now has about £1100 vouchers saved up! Not worth setting up now as about to change nursery's so will set it up for the new nursery and will have a few months off childcare costs
