Evening all

DD is a 3.5F...so quite diddy. DS used to have diddy feet, he is now a 13 and looks like he needs to grow into them a bit.

Fury.......what's happening with your kitchen floor?

Had a productive afternoon after a wash out of a morning due to horrible hormones and feeling really crap, shouting at everyone and taking to bed for three hours (only managed four hours very unbroken sleep last night).

But, the only things needing a wash in this house are the clothes that are coming off our backs today, my hospital bag and labour bag are packed and the house is some semblance of tidy

And, I have been reading some of the old AN/PN threads (as I had forgotten some of the baby names and needed them for Chloe's card) and have been in tears reading all the birth announcements......bloody big sap that I am .

Anyone know what a european size 22 is in British sizes? Anyway, that's what DS is. Funnily enough his feet are smaller than DD's at his age, I know this as I'm a tight git recycling DD's old shoes with him. Considering she wasn't even walking at his age I reckon that's ok. They're not actually pink or anything so may as well get my money's worth.

My little baby starts nursery tomorrow, I am sort of a bit sad about it but also thinking of all the things I'll be able to do. No excuse anymore for not working though.

Bloodystumperlicious · 12/10/2008 20:30

Fury that's really shit. Can you claim the money on the insurance?

Daisy you wet blanket!

DH spoke to my friend's husband earlier. She gave birth to her baby after presumably being induced. Their baby was a girl and they named her. Sorry to dampen the mood

HellHathNoFury · 12/10/2008 20:34

floor is just bolloxed. DH has spent the day replumbing. Nightmare.

Fixed now and a nice big rug hides the worst of it.

Get me out of here

Second Bumper. Daisy, you are a wet blanket

JammyOLantern · 12/10/2008 20:36

for your friend Bumper.

Fury, what's happening about your floor?

I've just had a beer and it's the first thing that has stopped me coughing for more than 15 seconds all day!

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 20:36

Well done daisy! I had a not very productive day at all. Made a roast with all the trimmings for lunch, which dp ate and then promptly fell asleep for 3 hours! Really annoying because I got all the baby clothes down from the loft to sort through this morning and I haven't had a chance to do anything with them. Now there are boxes and bin bags all over the floor upstairs! Are you ok for baby clothes daisy?

Fury, arse about your house. Is there anything you can do yourselves or is it going to cost mucho £££ to sort?

I am starting a baby reviewing and price comparison site and am just looking at a way to do it. I don't know whether to do it blog style or as an actual website and I'm looking at names as well. I want it to be pretty and classy. Most of the domains I'm looking at are taken.

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 20:38

bumper . Your poor friend. I can't imagine how awful going through that must be. Hope she gets through it ok.

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 20:39

Daisy, I don't think you are wet, just pg! Well a bit wet, but blame the hormones!

JammyOLantern · 12/10/2008 20:40

Not very productive here either. But hey, that's they way the cookie crumbles sometimes. We were meant to be going out to friends for lunch, so wouldn't have done much in any case.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/10/2008 20:42

A wee thought for bumper's friend and her DH . The poor poor loves .

bumper, one bit of advice to them would be to get some photos or the hospital to take some hand/foot prints so they have something to hold on to in the future, even if they don't feel like they want it at the minute.

holly, thanks to Ria's generosity, and some newborn stuff on loan from a friend, we are swimming in baby clothes here. I will be changing him four times a day just to use up all the babygros

and a small victory here....DH has relented on the choice of names, and looks like DS and I will be getting our choice .

What, so you are actually going to call him Virgil?!

Bloodystumperlicious · 12/10/2008 20:49

Daisy, do you know the sex? Did I miss it?

We had 3 couples and their babies over for lunch today. Actually one of them cooked a casserole and bought it over as she had suggested going out for lunch but we couldn't afford it. So she made dinner and I made bread and brownies for pud. Was really nice actually, 2 of the babes are DD's age and one 2 months younger. DD just kept going and cuddling each of them.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/10/2008 20:55

lol holly, of course

yes bumper, it's a boy ...At least it bloody better be the amount of blue stuf we have bought.

Mind you, no worries if they got it wrong, as I still have all DDs stuff!

Votes please-

polkadotbaby.co.uk
chicbaby.co.uk
simplebaby.co.uk
bumptobub.co.uk

That is my website shortlist so far...I like the first two best.

LackaDAISYcal · 12/10/2008 20:59

bumper, that's really sweet about DD cuddling the other babies. When my friend comes over with her DS, who is six months younger than DD and still happy to stay in one place, she brings him toys. He only gets to look at them mind, but it's the thought that counts!

I've just had a faulty bag of maltesers . They were all gone about five minutes after opening them and all I can think is that the bag must've only been half full

simplebaby

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 21:02

Thanks sputnik. The only thing I thought about that one is that it is like this Simple Baby. People might think they are buying lotion!

LackaDAISYcal · 12/10/2008 21:02

polkadotbaby is good.

chicbaby also good, but what about turning it round to babychic?

simplebaby; the producers of simple baby products might have a bit to say about that one.....and I think people will be put off by the "simple"

bumptobub......don't like the bub bit, sorry.

what about something like tentinytoes or something of that ilk?

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 12/10/2008 21:03

what about simplybaby instead?

OP posts:
HellHathNoFury · 12/10/2008 21:05

I vote simplebaby

the floor will be WAY too much £££ to sort out so DH and I have 'hidden' it

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 21:06

simplybaby and chicbaby are taken already, I tried them first. I don't like the bub bit either, it is a bit common, but bumptobaby and every other combo is taken. I like tentinytoes, but it is not available either. I shall try some combos on that theme, thanks daisy.

HellHathNoFury · 12/10/2008 21:07

actually yes Daisys suggestions are good

HollyWeen · 12/10/2008 21:08

Fury, can you do some sort of bodge job on it that will last until after you sell it. Won't a surveyor notice it if you hide it?

Thanks for the vote.

HellHathNoFury · 12/10/2008 21:12

our surveyor didn't notice lol

we have done a bodge job. Unfortunately, to fix any of it properly we need to re do the whole kitchen as it's falling apart. The doors are falling off the cupboards, the concrete has shattered, the wood has cracked and warped, is stinks of mould and mildew. It's horrid.

We knew it was coming.... hence wanting to move before it happened - a couple of months too late methinks!

Sputnik · 12/10/2008 21:16

simplybaby is taken
everything is taken!
I am on the case.
