maybe I need wine nah, shouldn't as dh is out getting pissed merry as it's his bday tomorrow

Bramshott · 27/09/2008 21:25

He has expensive tastes SPB - expensive local honey and green and blacks chocolate - he must think he's onto a winner! Look this is him!

StealthPolarBear · 27/09/2008 21:26

Wow if I lived closer I'd be tempted to come and stick my nose in!
No wonder it's effective, he's probably bringing his friends and family

Eddas · 27/09/2008 21:28

pmsl

elkiedee · 27/09/2008 21:33

Bramshott, you do treat your mouse well. I wouldn't give a mouse Green and Blacks choc.

Sexonlegs · 27/09/2008 21:44

Evening

pmsl Bramshott! Lucky mouse indeed!! Glad the trip to M&S was ok and that you got some lovely pj's

NL, lovely to see you. So glad you are enjoying your job and loving B

SPB, why so tired? Or is that a daft question???

Eddas, BOOO to working on a Saturday night.

Caz, get that wine down you! What a pita re the gates being stolen. Honestly, some people.

Dippy, how was the Spanish Omelette Did you have any pudding?
I would love your black doll please. I will of course pay postage and packing. Stick your address in the parcel and a note of the cost and I'll send you the money. Thank you flower.

Thanks for all your words re B. She is feisty indeed. I am feisty too, but was as shy as hell as a child. We just have to be firm and consistent and hopefully we will get over it.

Had a hectic day today. Went to see dh's nana (94!) and then went on to see his auntie, uncle, cousin, her dh and their 2 dc. Only got back at 9.00. Stopped on the way home at a service station and we had crap for tea - K had KFC !!

Hope everyone is well.

Bramshott · 27/09/2008 21:54

Evening SOL!

Watching film - brain now emptied!

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2008 22:13

Caz - cannot believe people steal gates! For the scrap metal value do you think? Actually i can believe it - some git round near school stole drain covers a few months ago - leaving the streets full of big holes! I think you would have enjoyed the country fair today - there were some beautiful heavy horses there.

SOL - good for K and the KFC B has had nuggest from macdonalds you know

cazboldy · 27/09/2008 22:27

Yes I think it was for scrap NL

drain covers though! that is soooo dangerous!

Your country fair thing sounds lovely I like the clydesdales (the ones with the white legs and the white faces) or the percherons (the grey ones)

Lol at you and your mouse Bramshott ..... how far away do you release him?

She has just started year 4 and she says that she finds the maths to hard, and everything else too easy and that the teacher keeps switching her to different places, and that the teacher sounds angry even when she is not. She says that she was treated like a grown up at her last school, but is treated like a baby here.......

I just made some soothing noises, and told her it will get better soon.... don't really know what else to say to her, but will have a chat with her teacher next week.....

I am off to drag dh to bed!

NorthernLurker · 27/09/2008 22:31

It was dangerous - a child could have fallen in very easily and dd2 nearly cycled into one!!

There were two clydesdales there today I think, one was 16 hands and one was bigger! The bigger one was being ridden (by a woman with truly amazing thigh muscles obviously) and she could get him up into a canter in the arena! Fantastic sight. The third horse was a grey but I didn't get too much of a look at him. B was ok at a distance but then quite scared when we got a bit closer they are so huge!

Bramshott · 27/09/2008 22:37

Caz - I'm thinking maybe not far enough! It depends if it's dark or not! This morning I sent N out with him because I was still in my dressing gown at 10am and I didn't want the neighbours to see . Okay, from now on I am taking him (them?) right into the field at the back!

It must be very hard to hear that about Molly and school. Hopefully she is just getting used to a different teacher and different 'feel' to the school. The deputy head at N's school, who teaches the Yr 3 / Yr 4 class terrified me when I first met her, and she is formidable, but the kids seem to get on okay with her, and now I've known her for longer, I can see that she is a very good teacher.

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2008 07:50

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 07:51

StealthPolarBear · 28/09/2008 07:54

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 08:07

No, not really. It is all on-goning issues & life is tough. Girls are great though. They make it worth it!

Eddas · 28/09/2008 08:19

{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} dippy

JellySnakes · 28/09/2008 09:55

Oh Dippy, hope things get better for you soon xx

Bramshott, made me laugh with your talk of the mouse. Hope he goes elsewhere soon!!

Haven't been around for a few days, work Weds, meeting in London Thurs and then work again Friday. Got the train into London on Thursday which should have taken 2.5 hours but it actually took 5 hours. Someone had jumped in front of an earlier train causing total mayhem to most of the lines heading into Paddington. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck as they announced it, horrible.

at your wedding talk POTC Nice dresses, I like your style

NL, really pleased that the job is good

SPB, hope you get T sorted with his feeding. Is he just more clingy than normal because of the teeth or is he always so demanding?

Caz, hope Caitlin manages to settle back into her new school. Must be so stressful for you when she is upset.

SOL, I feel for you in your struggles with B. They can be so willful and so cheeky at times (ds can anyway), and it is so frustrating to keep dealing with it. Hope you have a better day today

Dh and ds off fishing again today so it is just me and F. Need to pop to supermarket later for something for dinner, but not really sure what to get. I actually fancy fish pie with sliced potatoes and melted cheese on the top. Not quite Sunday roast, but I really don't fancy that today!

Can't remember any more so apologies to anyone I have missed out, not a bad catch up post when I have done it from memory!

Sexonlegs · 28/09/2008 11:29

Morning.

Things are shit here. Dh been out since 7 this morning doing some fucking bike race and I am here and have just gone ballistic with B. I am at the end of my tether. I am close to walking out and leaving dh with custody of the girls.

JellySnakes · 28/09/2008 12:39

Oh no SOL {{{{{{{hugs to you}}}}}}}}}
Will dh be back soon to give you a break, or could you go over to your parents for the afternoon so that there are others to help you out?

CaptainDippy · 28/09/2008 12:59

You guys are all so lovely

NorthernLurker · 28/09/2008 13:55

Thanks lovely ladies, and apologies for my outburst. All sorted. Dh came back at 12 and my mum and dad were over at 12.30 and we all had a yummy lunch together.

And we all lived happily ever after xx

NorthernLurker · 28/09/2008 18:40

Whilst I remember - Oooggs and Elkie - have you seen www.mumsnet.com/Talk/2310/595053this?
I don't know if either of you claim vouchers but if you do I'll be very interested in how your employers react. Obviously it's brilliant for those going on maternity leave but I think and fear it will really put employers off the scheme. Especially as they will have to pay out for vouchers for staff who have no intention of returning to work. Anyway - obviously that shouldn't stop you two benefiting if you can
