Ha! Youngster

trace2 · 01/09/2008 18:00

Sputnik no we didnt still waiting was wierd went to hospital with ds today and everyone knew chloe even the pead i think thats

happy belated birthday

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 19:46

trace, that's not too great about jack, but can I say that from what I've seen of him, he seems like a lovely wee lad, so hopefully it won't affect hime too much.

As Natty said, there is loads of support on here and from what I can see, it is far more common than once thought. I'm sure you'll get great advice and that he will come on leaps and bounds with the right understanding of his needs, especially at school. I'm pretty sure that Storm has some experience of dealing with Aspergers

Natty, fingers crossed for DH

Happy Birthday JBM . I will be joining the giddy heights of......that age ......at the beginning of February.

Bring on tomorrow....DS goes back to school

Went swimming with DD today; first lesson back and boy did I notice the difference. We do a thing where we pull them behind us and blow bubbles in the water in front of their faces....I couldn't crouch down far enough to get my face in the water, lol. And then DD decided she didn't want to be part of the class and just wanted to do her own thing, which mostly involved trying to climb out of the pool

She didn't have a nap either today, and still took about half an hour to settle after DH took her to bed. I'm relying on being able toget her and the new bub down for a snooze at the same time at least once a day so I can get some rest too!

Hi Sputnik as well

NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/09/2008 20:08

results look good!
the scanner asked if he had had the pain long, and he said yeah. she said by the looks of it he has had it about 4 years.
now working on the assumption, if it was the big C, surely four years would be long enuff to kill him? or at least have kidney failure or something. sorry to be morbid, but i am looking at this being a good thing. whats that am i being positive again, thats twice in one day! lmao

justbeme · 01/09/2008 20:13

When will you know Natty?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 20:26

Hi folks. not had a chance to see what you've been chatting about othe than Natty's being positive. Will catch up once I've had tea and calmed down. Am all on edge, my sister's f'in shitty husband has walked out. She came home from work and there was a note saying he'd quit his job and he was leaving. Twunt in extremis! 28 years they've been married and then this

Oh and DH is taking redundancy from his work. (But not leaving me as far as I know and has promised that he'd never just go off without warning leaving a note behind.)

justbeme · 01/09/2008 20:34

Oh Jammy thats terrible!! Do you know why? Did she have a clue this might happen??

NattyThomasAndEllen · 01/09/2008 20:34

aw jammy that is shitty. DH knows not to leave me else i would track him down lol
justbeme will know 17th october.. a long time away again grr

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 20:41

She didn't have a clue. She says that with hindsight there were a couple of signs, but she was really knocked for six. She's at our parents tonight. I've offered to send some money to help keep her going for a couple of months. But not a lot I can do from here

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 20:43

Trace, sorry to hear you've got yet more worries

And Natty, fingers crossed for your DH

justbeme · 01/09/2008 20:47

Do they have children Jammy?

FWIW - when i was a single parent working 16hrs pw , I had too much money!!! What with my wages/maintenance/working families tax credit/child tax credit and child benefit!! (I only had a small mortgage mind) - so she shouldnt fret too much about the money.

Natty - why does it take so long?? (another reason to think it cant be cancer as they would know straight away if it was bad Im sure).

Off for a shower...

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 20:50

oh jammy, you're poor sister . If there's anything I can do let me know.

What an arse, could he not have at least let her know that he wasn't happy, rather than doing this; shitty little coward imo

Do they have kids?

Natty, glad you are looking at this positively , and hoping for positive news for you.

I hate sewing in farking name labels!

OP posts:
DKMA · 01/09/2008 20:50

Hi

Trace
JBM 'Happy Birthday'
Natty - hope dh = ok?
Daisy & Sputnik
Jammy - what a fucker - sounds like a mid life crisis to me! Has he bought a motorbike and is he wearing pink trousers or anything else odd??

X

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 20:51

Two grown up children, both left home.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 20:53

Sorry, Happy Birthday JBM!

Sputnik · 01/09/2008 20:56

That's just beyond belief Jammy, you must be really angry on your sister's behalf.

Daisy I was getting worried as hadn't seen you all day

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 20:59

sputnik.....I have a RL you know

actually I've been trying to prove to DH that I'm not a useless layabout, and do have some merit around the house, even if it is only sewing in name tags

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 21:02

I am angry on my sister's behalf, yes.

foxythesnowfox · 01/09/2008 21:11

Gosh, where to begin?

Sorry to hear about DC Trace. Fingers crossed you get some support.

Glad there is something positive to say about DH Natty. My LO has to go and have that dye test.

Happy Birthday JBM! 40 is the new 30, doncha know Hope you had a lovely day.

Shitty shite Jammy. Seems to me that a 'midlife crisis' is just an excuse for being a wanker. In fact, some men almost expect to have one as its a get-out clause to them. Pathetic.

Daisy - name tags. I have a pen. You put me to shame. Suppose I'd better get on with it

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 21:13

Yeah, I bought a pen too after sewing name tags into jamlet's nursery things and shredding my thumbs by sewing through the skin!

Btw I see DH's redundancy slipped in unnoticed under the cover of my sister's newa It's fine, he should get work by the time the money stops coming in [crosses everything].

foxythesnowfox · 01/09/2008 21:17

Sorry Jammy. It did register, but by the time I caught up, I forgot! What will he do? Same job, or use the money to do something else? Will we be seeing you buying an olive grove in Italy?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 21:24

It's OK Foxy He's going to look for work in his field (not a field of olice trees!). He's got 3 months' pay to come so hould be able to find something suitable (he's a software developer) and if all else fails he can do contract work to tide us over until he finds the right job for him. Or as I told him, it'll be the right time of year for Santas and extra postmen by then!

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 21:31

sorry jammy missed the bit about DH and redundancy. I hope he finds something soon....maybe he can negotiate something with part time hours as well and you can each have a day with DD?

Pens on labels no use here. The thieving little beggars at DSs school would take it anyway so his clothes need to have very obvious tags in prominent places. We've had some stuff go missing before.

ooh,and another reason for not MNing is I have been knitting; I think it's my form of nesting.

heartburn driving me crazy tonight....do you think chocolate would help?

OP posts:
JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 21:42

Chocolate can only do you good, surely?

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/09/2008 21:49

OK, I'm going to bed. Will send my sister sleepy thoughts to help her get some rest.
