December 2006- where they've grown so much we spend more time talking about our lives than our children

Well that and our pregnancies and other non-dec '06 children

Tis a good thing I feel.

See we're all still AQ-obsessed, then (I, too, nearly shrieked when I saw reference to things arriving safely ...)

I am such a dummy convert that I don't even care if DD2 has one when she's in her pushchair! I am completely oblivious to any horror-filled glances. It's the visual equivalent of sticking my fingers in my ears.

Jabber, you OK honey?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/09/2008 20:50

Aq - you realise your dp needs to update us asap when the big day comes, he forgets at his peril!

You've been warned AccessorizeKing!

EustaciaVye · 13/09/2008 20:54

As a distraction from AQ look what godzilla has been up to

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 13/09/2008 20:57

lolololol ev

accessorizequeen · 13/09/2008 21:04

Nothing gets past you on MN, does it EV?!!

Posting early to avoid panic (yours, not mine). Twinges, nothing more. Sorry! I have Indith on my texting list and I think Oli, Castles and Lennied on email too so someone should be able to pass the news on!

EustaciaVye · 13/09/2008 21:10

Take it easy AQ.

DH has been working every night this week so I've been posting on MN more than I normally would.

LenniEd · 13/09/2008 21:16

You are right Oli. With fingers crossed behind back of course because there is no way I will manage it.

{blush] for Godzilla!

LenniEd · 13/09/2008 21:19

even... wish I had the energy or inclination though for such antics. Oh well, maybe this time next year...

LenniEd · 13/09/2008 21:24

OOI - and this doesn't count in my vow cos it isn't speculating on or anticipating twin arrivals - what is the plan AQ? Are they going to induce you next week if they think it will be successful? If not, will they just leave you until things happen naturally? I thought there was issues with induction after a CS (vaguely recall your last one being a VBAC... not entirely convinced my memory serves me correctly though...)

accessorizequeen · 13/09/2008 21:38

That vow didn't last long, Lennied
I'm not entirely sure tbh what the plan is, no can't have standard induction but she's mentioned 1 or 2 sweeps. But surely they're going to come out on their own they must be huge by now!

accessorizequeen · 13/09/2008 21:39

Yes, you're right, had VBAC with ds2. What about you with ds? Does that still sound strange?

Indith · 13/09/2008 22:02

Hello!

Spotted Godzilla's thread earlier, made me

Shall attempt not to hound AQ on here and hover over my mobile instead

Lennied I have no energy for such antics either Even though the little bugger has finally decided to move up a little. He has been sitting so bloody low and making my fanjo swell up and all sore, I swear I was the same size down there as post ds, loo roll felt like sandpaper. Poor dh didn't get a look in. Of course now that things are more normally sized ds has all these teeth troubles and colds, I have the cold and a bad cough and can't even walk down the hall without getting out of breath and the sleep, bloody hell the sleep. I have no idea what to do about it. He screams, wakes and screams. Really screams. I mean we've had occasions before where he screams and you just have to hold him until he actually wakes up and realises you are there but this is different, he just turns into a wriggling mass of enraged child, shrieking (pain? anger?) and clawing at us, hitting us. Can go on for a couple of hours. He spits out most medicine we try to give him. I just don't know what to do with him, he is missing out on so much sleep as he hasn't been napping either. Today thankfully he had almost 3 hours after we just gave up and left him screaming for about 15 mins. I want my baby back who just wants cuddles when ill, I can cope with that!

Sorry, rant over, promise.

Godzilla if its any help, I found my sister's vibrator when I was about 11, thought it was a tampon holder and tried to open it by twisting top off, got the shock of my life! But I don't think I'm scarred

Poor Indith and ds I remember nights like that with dd1, who really did have a horrible time with teeth. It couldn't be ears though, could it?? Only the worst screaming at night dd ever had was the one time she had an ear infection, though she seemed ok during the day. Also awful having unhappy LO when you're sick (never mind pg and sick) so here's wishing the pair of you better.

See, I never mentioned AQ tonight

jabberwocky · 14/09/2008 02:02

Same here with ds2 re: screaming at night and ears.

bp, thanks so much for asking. I guess I'm taking it one day at a time. Dh has been making an effort and most days I think I can make it work out. Then he slips right back into old habits and I wonder who I'm kidding...

castlesintheair · 14/09/2008 10:12

Sorry to hear that Jabber. Am having a tough time of it too so sympathies and totally get your "who am I kidding".

jabberwocky · 14/09/2008 15:51

Sorry you are in the same boat castles

EustaciaVye · 14/09/2008 17:49

Jabber and Castles. Sorry things are tough. Having children affects us so much as everything you do is centred around them in some way. It can make you feel bottom of the pile and then when you do something about it can open up all sorts of issues. IMO.

Tantrums calmed down a bit here.

LenniEd · 14/09/2008 18:10

Yes AQ, it does still sound very strange! DD was a normal birth in the end despite waters breaking 72hours before any contractions, and a lot of debate about induction. (Waters broke at 5am on Christmas Day! Lulumama got very excited about a potential Xmas Day baby, but then nothing else happened and I was allowed home for turkey dinner, but had to go back to stay over from then until she was born) It was all very managed though cos of the PROM thing, and couldn't use the pool, plus had to have ABs on a drip and ended up having that synthetic oxytocin on a drip too as they were worried I was going to manage to go 90 hours with ruptured membranes which apparently was unprecedented in the unit and would be much frowned upon so they wanted to speed things up . 8hrs in, I had an epidural and DD arrived 4hrs later, think she would have arrived quicker had I been able to hold out, but by then hadn't slept for (surprise surprise) 90hrs, and had given up!

Well that was a lot of info!

Jabber and Castles, sorry to hear things still aren't great. And I hope you both find the right solution.

EV - how did that anxiety course go? Are things better now?

Indith, DD went through a phase of screaming in the night which GP put down to night terrors - might be worth talking to your doctor to rule out ears though - I really suffered with mine as a child and I was not a good sleeper so seems the two things go hand in hand. It is so hard being up all night when pg - it absolutely kills me, and puts me in a right grump for the next day. DH wouldn't dare come near me half the time anyhow!

EustaciaVye · 14/09/2008 18:19

Lennied - I feel much better now. I only did about 1/4 of the course but I think coming off the pill did it for me. Feel much more human and (touch wood) havent had tears for about 2 months.

Indith - DD1 had night terrors around age 2. It was awful. She would screamd and look at you if you went in the room but not be aware of you. She wouldnt remember the next day. I did wonder if some tv triggered it. And also overtiredness certainly didnt help.

Advice will vary. Some say dont wake up and others say wake up. I found that if I nudged DD1 enough to wake her up then she would be upset for a while but get over it. I had to make sure she was fully awake though so would give her a drink or something as if they dont wake up properly it just repeats. HTH

LenniEd · 14/09/2008 19:48

Pleased about that EV - I was dreadful on the pill, gained weight, got awful spots and generally was an emotional wreck! I wouldn't go near it now, although wish I could since def don't want anymore babies after this one (famous last words eh!) and get fed up with the expense, faffiness and unreliability of condoms. Oh well, DH will just have to have the chop snip .

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 14/09/2008 21:32

Castles & Jabber - very sorry to see that you're treading water in the marital dept. There is so much which changes when you have children and it seems our lives seem to be put on hold for our los but theirs just carries on as it was pre-children.

I have resentment issues with dh sometimes, I'm having to put it into context to enable me to relate to dh sometimes.

Still here. Nothing happening...
Have certainly been there with rel. probs as I think I've mentioned and it's horrible. I really sympathise, it puts a pall on everything I find.

castlesintheair · 15/09/2008 17:54

Thanks everyone. My DH is perfect. It's just me that's not
