I had a boyfriend who looked like Eddie Vedder when I was 18 [proud].

rozzyraspberry · 19/11/2008 16:37

God Sarah I thought I was organised for xmas but you are a mad woman!!

Egg my ds3 is crap with a cup too - he just likes to bang it upside down and since its not a non spill one his water just pours out... He won't take milk out of cup or bottle so not sure why I'm handing out advice.

Was it Extreme who sang 'more than words'? I LOVE that song. Don't know who Eddie whatshisname is though.

Ds3 is chewing a little toy car - I know he shouldn't have them cause of small bits but he's just so happy with it.

All 3 of mine now have the cold - medised is taking a beating.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 19/11/2008 16:45

we ,ove medised in tho#is house too!!!! that and th karvol plug!!!!!

alkar · 19/11/2008 18:01

Yes rozzy it was extreme who sang more than words, did it again last night! Eddie Vedder mmmmmmm

Christmas things look good sarah, I think i'll be stealing some of your ideas!

alkar · 19/11/2008 18:03

Nuno was topless last night egg, yum yum

swottybetty · 19/11/2008 19:26

sebastian bach from skid row. damn, forgot how romantic these preg hormonses make me feel...

omy · 19/11/2008 20:59

As usual I have missed too much to catch up. Have had a read tho -

Great news Swotty 12 wk scan all good.

Bean - glad work know how lucky they are and that you are not dreading going back!

Count - how awful for you all - the same thing happened to a friend of mine - I think it was about 30K! Blardy awful but it does get better from here. Amazing how common it is gambling addiction - it makes me so angry that they are licensing loads more places now.

I am not coping at work - even with no baby this is a stressful time of year for teachers. DH put a door on the baby's 'alcove' yesterday so her cries are a bit muffled!

Gill79 · 19/11/2008 22:39

we tried medised for the first time today and yesterday we got some anbesol. Yup - things are still BAD. He's never been this unhappy before; there are good moments but he has a lot of screaming fits. Also cause he's tired and run-down he keeps toppling into things and banging his head which means more tears!

Me and DP very tired at the mo - much respect to everyone who's back at work.

Very impressed by your christmas boxes Sarah!

Malcolm is no good with a cup either - well, he can drink from it himself but prefers to shake it around and then chuck on the floor. And with a spoon he can take the spoon from me and put it in his mouth but then anything left on it when it comes out of his mouth is scooped out and thrown at the wall. The other day he was feeding me with a spoon though! Even trying to scoop it out of the bowl himself. Makes it all worthwhile.

Had to quickly report with much excitement that my local tesco (which is TINY) has ellas kitchen stage 2!! Only 2 varieties but exciting anyway.

Ds3 up loads with cold last night but having a nice nap now.

Bessie123 · 20/11/2008 11:38

Rozzy - the Ella's Kitchen fish pie is good.

Swotty - glad scan went well. It must be great to be pregnant again; still exciting but you know what to expect this time. I am thinking about going back to work but not looking forward to it. I was thinking this morning that all dd has ever known is me looking after her and it's going to be so different to be at nursery every day. It's a few months off still.

Gill - sorry to hear Malcolm not feeling well. Dd is also dosed up on medised atm and she does that crying thing like Egg's dd where she is so upset it doesn't make a noise. Egg is right, it's heartbreaking. Dd just wants to cuddle and breastfeed all the time. Malcolm looks like he is doing well, though - a bonny baby.

omy · 20/11/2008 17:38

am v depressed am still at work by the time i get home Lelia will be in bed. i am on the phone to barclays cancelling my cards as i lost my wallet today - think it may have been stolen.

omy · 20/11/2008 17:39

on bloody hold again urgh

rozzyraspberry · 20/11/2008 19:19

Bessie unfortunately they just have the chicken casserole and a rice pudding here in tesco but will check next time I do an online shop as that gets delivered from a much bigger store further away.

Chin up omy - not long until the weekend and lots of cuddles. I managed to lose my bank card 3 times last year - and then found it twice after cancelling it - such a pain isn't it? At least you've noticed quickly. Big cyber hugs to you{hugs}

Lucyand2 · 20/11/2008 19:42

I'm sorry - I can't even begin to catch up with the thread but it is nice to pop in! Love the thread title, using cloth nappies means you get very intimate with the nappy contents whilst sloshing out the nappy bucket (and service washing the machine )

I hope that everyones doing well and all babies are now crawling. DD2 is still crawling backwards after a month of vanishing under things, she likes to frustrate herself by straightening her legs out like she's doing a yoga position rather than moving anywhere. She also trys to pull herself up on everything so I think she's going to skip crawling and try to copy DD1. DD2 has 4 teeth, eats everything and loves to jibber away to herself whilst eating things off the carpet.
She sounds a bit like me at the moment!

gingermumi · 20/11/2008 20:16

Oh egg thats so sad for your DD.

Rozzy, like eggs 2 ds tends to drink/spit and water the floor with his cup! Hmm!

hope you're ok omy, am wishing morning sickness on myself so I don't have to go to work! It's pants!`

sallyforth · 20/11/2008 20:23

hello all

had a bad day at work, everything went wrong and i cried! I'm just so fed up with trying to be super mum!

stupid stupid work.

heartfelt sympathies to you omy.

Gill79 · 20/11/2008 20:49

Big hugs for Omy and Sally and everyone else struggling through at work. Must be really hard especially if you're doing full time or nearly full time. Bggr about your wallet too Omy. That's such a pain.

What's your work Sally - am I right in thinking it's in a lab? Are they doing anything wrong or are you just not coping with it yourself?

Rozzy after sending my mum on a mission searching waitroses of the home counties I found the chicken casserole in a local tesco metro! Bought the whole stock. Malc is eating again now we've got them but wasn't really eating anything before! Taking him to the docs tmrw.

Bit of a rubbish day got up early and charged down to the health visitor only to find got the day wrong, and you know those days when you just look YUK and feel yuk. Disgusting hair and face and clothes. My mum came over for a few hours which was nice but spent the rest of the day feeling tired and wrestling with a screaming snotty faced boy and digging round in the cellar trying to unearth all the baby equipment for my cousin who is expecting her second.

Double bill of I'm a Celebrity though - things looking up!

Gill thanks for the hugs... yes I work in a lab, and they aren't doing anything wrong except kindly asking after DS... bless them I am just a bit of an exhausted wreck at the moment. ended up randomly crying over insignificant things.

Gill79 · 20/11/2008 21:31

oh dear- how many days are you doing? You know you're really tired and overcome when you get upset when people are nice to you.

beansprout · 20/11/2008 21:34

Just finished my first working week and am exhausted. Sorry to hear that others are finding it difficult too.

Hope you are all ok. Am off to bed....

omy · 21/11/2008 07:41

Good morning all! Feel MUCH better in the mornings. Thanks for hugs! They really help. It seems a difficult time for everyone - dark and grey - roll on summer!

Just had a reason to LOL though - my gorgeous dressed up to the nines year 12 daughter just walked out the door on the way to college with her slippers on! he he.

Sally - hope you get some rest - you sound tired. Bloody work grrrrr.

Hope all the babies are getting over their colds it is so miserable when they are ill.

DH has out a door onto Leila's room and it is definitely helping her to sleep longer.

Lucy - BIG respect for the cloth nappies. I am far too lazy.
Leila is standing loads and balancing sometimes - a genius of course!

So lovely and quiet in the flat with the DDs gone to school and DH at work and babe still asleep - don;t really know what to do with myself! Have a good day all

Ginger - HOW can you say that about morning sickness - ugh!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 21/11/2008 07:51

sorryto hear so many are finding the return to work so upsetting, its really hard isn't it , u feel guilty as your not with lo's, i am sure that weverfything will settle down as soon as the new routing is in place, sending hugs to you all {hugs}

Lucy, lovely to hear from you(wondered where u were)!!Lol glad to hear everyone is doing well in your household,

not really got much to add really, hope all is well with everyone, xxx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 21/11/2008 07:51

sorry typing awful ,ds was helping!!!!!!

rozzyraspberry · 21/11/2008 08:14

7.41 and your lo still sleeping omy. ds3 was up at 5.30am, ds2 6.10am and ds1 6.30am. My lot are early risers but they do all go down at 7pm which helps me feel more human.

Yucky work sally/beany/ginger/omy - I only have 2 weeks of mat leave left now. Ginger I am already at your mat leave next year!! I am lucky I've been able to take longer off this time though. Here's hoping juggling work and kids will eventually settle down for us all.

Let us know how the docs goes Gill.

Better go and get dc organised for school/nursery I suppose.

swottybetty · 21/11/2008 08:34
