Hmmm, I wanted twins with DS1 too .

Alkar, forgot to say that trampoline is fab. DS1 still uses it now when he goes up to the loft, and he used to bounce and bounce and just make me smile at his enthusiasm.

gingermumi · 14/11/2008 15:42

Just a thought, please don't say anything on facebook as i don't want work to know yet and some of my colleagues use it. Ta!

swottybetty · 14/11/2008 16:47

dh arrived home with completed walker.... and strict instructions not to let dd use it til he returns at 5.15! she is stroking the bumpy green wheels at the moment.

i'd forgotton it took so long with toby, how long had you been trying? have you joined july AN thread. i joined the june group rather than may (due 29th may by dates, scan on monday) after getting so depressed going overdue last time .

at dentist hitting nerve alkar. the thought of that makes my whole body feel jerky, if that makes any sense.

egg that is the second time you've mentioned twins. i believe you are trying to wish them on us. given how fat tired and psychotic i am, its not entirely out of the question.

missnatalie · 14/11/2008 18:46

CONGRATULATIONS ginger!!!!!

Very happy for you. Any also although i know that theres noway that id be able to cope.

Have been on the dieting thread and joined a group there. Im going to do the juicing diet. Its the one that Katie Price did after she had Juniour and lost 2st in 3 months. Have been to argos today and bought my juicer. £80 it cost me . I could have got a cheaper one but my theory is that because ive paid more, ill probably have more of an incentive to do it (i hope ).

Also been to DPs dads with DP so that he could see Henley before he goes for the op. I cant stand the man but i found myself getting very emotional. He had a chat with us all about his funeral and how he wants it. Gave DP the pin numbers for his bank accounts and the info for his shares, and the deeds to the house. The whole afternoon felt very final iykwim. He also gave Henley £2000 and DP £5000. I ended up crying when he was playing on the floor with Henley and now im crying again . Im feeling really sad for DP and Henley. He may grow up and never remember his grandad. DP is a complete wreck . Im trying to keep him positive but i dont think its working. Can everyone please keep your fingers crossed that he does pull through the op. If only for DPs sake.

Im off to see my mum tomorrow. Im going to try and convince her to come to the trafford centre with me so that i can get some of DPs xmas pressies. Hes impossible to buy for. Hes got everything. Im also going to try and get Henely a all in one snowsuit. Ive been everywhere, and i mean everywhere for one but everywhere has sold out of them in 9-12 months!!

Hope everyone is ok xx

rozzyraspberry · 14/11/2008 20:05

Oh my goodness congratulations Ginger!! Lucky Toby having 2 lovely grown up sisters and getting a little brother/sister to cause trouble with play with. Fingers crossed for a non-eventful pregnancy!!

I've been struggling a little bit this week -not sure what's up with ds1 and ds2 but I'm finding them a bit difficult to cope with. It's not that they're particularly bad as such but they've just been so wild and noisy and so damn silly and no amount of bribery/threats can calm them down. Even the old 'santa is watching' threat has had no effect. Individually they're fine but when they are together god they can be hard work. To make matters worse it was a school/pre school in service day here today so they had all day to wind each other up and dh is away overnight for a stag night. I've snapped a few times and really shouted and then I feel so crap because I know they're just little boys and are just excitable not evil but god it would be nice to have quiet children now and again. On a more postive note although ds1 has been challenging at home we had his first parents evening this week and his teacher is very pleased with him - she says he's a 'little character' and hardly a day goes by where he doesn't do something that makes her giggle to herself - I hate to think!

I am back to work 3 weeks on Monday and so far our biggest success with formula was yesterday when ds3 took 1oz out of a cup. He won't take a bottle at all. I'm not overly concerned about him when I'm at work as he only has 3 milk feeds a day now so will only miss the 2pm feed but I'm not sure how much longer I want to bf for. Other than that he's being a star - so so much easier these days. He's gone from not wanting to lie on his tummy at all to going from sitting onto his tummy, shuffling backwards, then almost getting himself back up to sitting again. We still haven't seen him rolling but have found him on his tummy after naps a few times so he obviously just doesn't want to perform for us.

Hope everything goes well with the op missnat. The only thing that works for me re weightloss is exercising as I have no willpower against chocolate at the moment!

SB my mum has got that same walker for ds3 for his christmas. My older 2 had one - we're still missing chips of paint from the doors in the kitchen from it - it was defintely made good use of.

Hi to everyone else!

rozzyraspberry · 14/11/2008 20:08

Meant to say leesmum that ds1 didn't crawl until around 11 months - your hv should know better than to say things like that - she must see enough babies to know they're all different!

rozzyraspberry · 14/11/2008 20:19

Oops also forgot to say that the night weaning worked and Andrew has slept through for the last 9 nights.

Ok will go away now and stop clogging up the thread with my rambling!

sallyforth · 14/11/2008 21:03

Congrats ginger!!!!!!!!!!!! thats excellent news!!! am v pleased and excited for you. xxx

alkar · 14/11/2008 21:54

Good news on the sleeping through rozzy.

Jealous of your shopping trip missnat, I'd love to go to the trafford but pil are here . Hope the op goes well on monday

leesmum · 15/11/2008 08:48

Ginger congratulations, wow that's so exciting for you all, try and take it easy (well as much as you can with a 10 month old!) Aaahh that means you and Swotty are having another sober Christmas and New Year

Rozzy well done for sticking with the night weaning, it makes a big difference when you are getting a decent nights sleep, Are you ready for work on mon? My boys can get VERY noisy and giddy at times but in a playful way, as soon as one starts laughing thats it then for about 10 mins, and ds2 has started doing a really high pitched squeal!!! And all my door frames are also scratched from ds1 being in his walker

Missnat i'm keeping everything crossed for your fil's op, i know there's understandibly no love lost between you two and thats fine but try and be strong for your Dp he's got some tough times to come and believe me he'll need you to be there for him.{{hugs}}

Hi to everyone else, soz for not replying to everyone xx

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 15/11/2008 15:26

CONGRATULATIONS GINGER, So pleased for you, how did your dp and the girls react to your wonderful news? wow i cannot believe two of you are preggers already!!!!! its so exciting, xxxxxx

Hope the op for your fil goes well on monday miss nat,

Hi Rozzy i know what u mean about needing a little peace and quiet sometimes, lol

DD has another tooth this morning thats 2 in 3 days!!! she is so good with it not even been upset at all, !!!! She has however leart to squeal- its so high pitched it goes straight through me, she has been doing it for a few weeks now and was hoping it would pass no chance atm!!!!!

Well done to Egg's DS1 for all his walking today, must be nice to get out with them all sometimes egg,

Swotty- we have the elc wooden walker with the bricks, DS loves it still now, DD will walk with the vteck walker really well, she will also walk if you hold her hands, she grins from ear to ear and is so proud of herself!!!!lol she is however still not crawling but slides backwards across the floor to get what she wants, and screans when she ends up in a corner!!!!

Hi to everyone ese hope all is well,

oh i have wrapped all my pressies for xmas, they are in the loft!!!would you like me to put a picture up of the presents DS and i have made for nursery ?btw we are really pleased with them xxxx

sorry for my huge post xxx

gingermumi · 15/11/2008 15:37

Aw thanks to all.

Missnat hope all goes well. If it helps at all my grandad was given two years max and lived for 8 and eventually it was a heart attack that took him. you never know whats going to happen. Love to you and your fmaily, really feel for you.

Swotty, will join antenatal thread when I'm a bit more sure of date, pretty sure am due in july though (was hoping I was further on but doc says she doesn't think so). Had some blood tests which will show HCG mutiplying and they can tell from that roughly where you are apparently. Results next week. According to dd2 I am not simply carrying one or even twins but two girls, two boys and a panda! I have no idea why she said that!Twins seem good compared to quads and a large mammal!

BTW When can you give a baby doorstep milk, all I can find is 12 months but i'm sure someone said 10 months. Any ideas?

How's things today rozzy? hope it's a little less hectic.

beansprout · 15/11/2008 17:39

Congratulations Gingermumi!! That's fantastic news!!

Hope it went ok MissNat.

Tis my birthday today and have eaten my own body weight at Pizza Express with dh and my lovely boys.

swottybetty · 15/11/2008 18:10

happy birthday bean! mmmmm.....pizza express. glad you have had a nice day. have you plans for tonight or will strictly come dancing hit the spot all by itself??

missnat, hope all goes wellfor your FIL. it must be horrible to see your DP so upset. GL with the juicing. I got DH a juicer last year, but we dont have a dish washer so the fun went out of it quite quickly ....

rozzy at your DS's teacher doing something each day to makeher giggle. that is a lovely thing for her to say. wd on the nine nights in a row.i hope you're getting full nights too now.

leesmum, yup, not happy about another sober xmas and new year. we havent had sky tv since we moved in july, but we have decided to splash out so that we have darts world championship to lookforward to ...any small thing to cling onto

wd done on the second tooth sarah. i do love your xmas organisation.i think you should sell your services to less organised people ... like me!

ginger,i have been using normal milk in dd's porridge for a couple of months now.i think its a year for them to have it as a drink.

ughhhhh.. dh is late back from his run. i get so obsessed with the possibility of him being hurt in a ditch somewhere.

rozzyraspberry · 15/11/2008 19:54

Happy birthday Bean - pizza express - mmmm!

I've had a LOVELY day today. The boys have all been as good as gold and my mum watched ALL THREE whilst I wenting shopping ON MY OWN for TWO whole hours - first time I've been out on my own since we had ds3. Was lovely although kept forgetting and veering towards the lifts before remembering I could use the stairs. Treated myself to a new bra as my nursing bras are now too big but pre preg bras too small and I've been getting really fed up with how my boobs looked in clothes. Shallow as it is I now feel happier about continuing bf now I have a nice bra which fits and after another failed try with the formula today I think I may admit defeat for the time being.

Swotty I also like the darts but can only watch it when I'm at mum and dads as we don't have the sports channels. Hope your dh made it back safely from his run -have they done the half marathon yet? Bet you're really sorry to be missing it

Sarah - I'm so jealous of you having your pressies wrapped. I have all mine bought but wrapping presents is one of my least favourite things - second only to ironing!

Leesmum - it's 3 weeks on Monday till I'm back at work but feel ok about it I think. Just need to get my work clothes dry cleaned and I'm all set.

Ginger are your fibroids still bothering you?

I am sitting down to a nice vodka and cranberry juice.

gingermumi · 15/11/2008 20:55

Fibroids still there, largest 8cm but will probably grow larger again

omy · 15/11/2008 23:25

sheeeet - Leesmum - you have just reminded me! 8 month check - forgot all about that! vaguely remember it from last DD but that was 11 years ago! I will book it on Monday.

Egg - how old is your DS1? What a star for walking so far! I always try to hold off on buying equipment that I won't need in a few months - do you drive with all three on your own? or are you carless in the day? We are sharing one car which means that I usually cycle to work otherwise DH has no car during the day. When the weather is shite I drive but I feel bad about leaving DH with no car - and he has to have it on Tuesdays as he does the dance class chauffering for the older girls in the afternoon. (proud wife emoticon!)
re x factor - Oh YES! I was so peed off when stupid Dani dropped that beautiful girl who sang really well - I call her the eyebrow girl as she has gorgeous eyebrows! Daniel is a nice guy and I hope he gets a lovely wife out of this but his singing - purleeeese! - what is this Terry thing? have i missed something?

Swottybettey - xmas fete! don't remind me - I am in charge of the food hall for next saturday's xmas fete at my daughter's school - no pressure! Luckily they changed the date of my daughter's parents eve - they accidentally planned it for Ede on 8th Dec -ooops - big faux pas - had to apologise profusely and change the date!

Alkar - poor you tooth ache is nasty!

OH MY GOD GINGER!!!!!!! how can you whisper such amazing news!! Now you are making me (very slightly) but I just don't know where I would PUT another baby in our flat - plus I seem to be the only bread winner at the mo - a very strange feeling - not sure I like the responsibility!

omy · 15/11/2008 23:39

Miss nat - you are so sweet to care about your FIL pulling through - and I will cross my fingers for your sake - it seems to be bringing out the best in him, it must be very hard for you all.

Was thinking of buying a walker but no need now - as LO has started pushing the kitchen chair around the room! I love a bargain me!

Happy Birthday bean

Rozzy - I'm glad you had a better day - and some time to yourself! How many days a week will you be working when you go back?

omy · 15/11/2008 23:40

Sarah!!! You astound me with your organisedness! I have no idea what pressies to get anyone this year - and no time to get them - hopefully next week's xmas fair at DD1&2s school will give me some inspiration!

rozzyraspberry · 16/11/2008 08:52

Only working 3 days a week omy and dh looks after dc whilst I'm at work. More worried about him than anyone else I think. They don't do 8 month checks in my area any more for some reason.

alkar · 16/11/2008 09:53

Happy birthday for yesterday bean, its my birthday on tuesday. DH was gonna have the day off but he's now going to a conference so I've got a friend and her baby coming over in the morning and then its DSs waterbabies in the afternoon.

Good luck at work tomorrow rozzy.

Had a massive row with MIL yesterday. She started moaning when we said we would be leaving at about 5pm on our pre christmas dinner (not seeing them on christmas day itself). We are getting there for 11 but apparently this isn't good enough for her. She thinks DS should have his 5pm sleep there I think we should drive home which takes an hour whilst he is asleep. Surely its better for DS and safer for the driver. Went on and on about her never seeing DH on christmas day. PIL were invited here on christmas day but have chosen to go elsewhere. They said they are going to SIL on new years eve and staying over there. They expected us to go to when it is a 2 hour drive away and there is nowhere for us to stay WTF. We have enough space for everyone to stay here but they wont even entertain the idea.

So sick of it all. Really dont want to go there in december. Can't stand the interfering old cow

omy · 16/11/2008 11:13

Rozzy - will your other boys be at nursery in the day or will your DH have more than 1 to deal with? It has been great for us to have DH at home with the babe - he is so organised - shops, cooks and freezes food in bulk, cleans, washes, and even finds time to do some DIY occasionally! He is going a bit potty though - it would be good if he got a nice big job to do so he wouldn't feel guilty about paying a friend to nanny for a while. He is an artist who paints portraits and murals and the normal hotel, restaurant and film work seems to have dried up at the moment. He has a couple of small commissions, but nothing big at the mo.
Maybe they don't do 8 months checks here any more - I certainly haven't had a reminder! I would be curious to know how much she weighs though - a heluva lot! my neck aches from carrying her!

Alkar - what a nightmare with the MIL - awful when you feel obliged to go somewhere instead of looking forward to it - hope it won't be all strained and awkward now after this row.

Ginger - told my DH about your news and he was horrified! Guess we won't be joining you then!

rozzyraspberry · 16/11/2008 16:39

Omy ds1 is at school from 9 to 3.15pm and ds2 is at nursery from 9.15 to 11.45. So dh will have to do the school/nursery run, will have ds3 only in the morning, ds2 and ds3 in the afternoon and then all 3 from 3.15. I only work until 4.30 though so will be home around 5. Dh is not quite so organized as your dh unfortunately and the house is quite often a bombsite when I get home from work. One of the reasons I'm not looking forward to going back actually as it does cause a bit of tension. Hey ho - needs must.

LOVEMYMUM · 16/11/2008 18:22

Hi all.

Sorry not logged in a for a while.
I made the mistake of reading about baby Tia on the bereavement thread and thought i'd better stay away from mumsnet for a while as it upset me big time.

Congratulations Ginger.
How are you feeling Swotty?

Katie will be going to nursery 8 till 12 on Thursday and Friday. She is doing very well in her settling-in week and I've been told i can leave her for 2 hours on Tuesday morning and can leave the building (as opposed to waiting in the waiting area in case she gets upset).

Gill79 · 17/11/2008 09:08

Hello everyone - it's been a while but I've been lurking......

CONGRATULATIONS Ginger! Wow!!!!!!! That's great - really pleased for you. And now Swotty will have a friend

MissNat - hope the op goes well for DP's sake - all sounds very scary and intense. Hope you get to make good use of the juicer and it doesn't get used for a week and then go on top of the cupboard, get dusty for a year and then into the cellar (rather like my breadmaker)

Rozzy - sorry you are finding your boys hard work. I always wanted a boisterous energetic boy and now I have one that is the very definition of that I do occasionally think wouldn't it be nice to have a quiet placid little girl? And HOORAY that he Andrew sleeping through.

Wish I could say that there's been an improvement here but NO. First of all teeth and then a cough and high temperature but he's been a nightmare. Three nights of not going down into his cot, constant night-time feeding, screaming and then getting up at 5am. Thank God that DP has been so good and has been getting up with him in the mornings so I can get a couple of uninterrupted hours. Although it was almost worth it on Sunday morning at 5am when we sat up in bed there he was standing up in his cot waving at us through the dark with a big smile. Has actually brought a little tear to my eye telling you that.

There is good news though - went into work last week and looks like I'm going to be able to work 2 days a week, with a one-day-a-week warm up for a month. Feel so lucky. Now just need to get nursery sorted.

Right we've got a busy day. Better go and wake up the boy (who is of course sleeping after his hard night )
