Hello all. Lack of sleep and hospitals apart, I hope you're all getting on OK.

I noticed down the page that monkey had asked about mumblesmummy. Does anyone know how she is?

My eldest are all on half-term as of today. Yippee! It will be so nice not to have to do the school run. I might even get a lay-in... .

22 week old DS2, having slept through beautifully from 8 weeks, is now waking up twice a night for full feeds. He is also teething, his 3rd has come through at the top today. And he's become really demanding of attention, so it's all rather hard work atm.

babylove21 · 24/10/2008 21:48

Hey all
Dr's appt was as mocat suggested, because my dd is small and not gaining much, plus the hand, plus the lack of rolling over she wanted a thorough check of her.
The dr was very nice and spent ages with her, she had her heart listned to and she spent a while examining her physique, and she kept feeling her head, although i'm not sure why. She said it all seemed ok, and then went on to say that the paediatrician would be looking at her as a whole and not just her red hand/arm, and she would look to rule out chromosonal issues, or something i forget now all of what she said it went woooosh over my head. But i am not so worried now although im pleased the hospital appt is not long away.

LM74 very pleased that yout lo's investigation was a success. Doesnt it hurt you to hear them cry when they are distressed.

MM I am with LM74. I paid £35 for a posh change bag that you could weekend away with! But then i collected the boots freebie one. It's great, i think it looks nice, it fits nappies change of clothes, bottle and as with LM74 i use the front two pockets for my phone, keys etc.
Actually someone asked if i might like a new hand bag for xmas. What?? would you like a stylish one, a fashionable one or party one?? i don't mind but make it big enough for a nappy and bottle I mourn my handbag

monkeysmama · 24/10/2008 22:06

Babylove - good news re dd. Pleased for you.

When I was growing up we had a very sick little brother and it makes me feel very when babies aren't well & their parents have to worry so much.

On a much lighter note - I sorted through my handbags (pre baby!) today and found some lovely ones but I need something that'll hang over the pram. It sounds so frivilous (spg? - would you believe I have an English degree?!) - but it matters to me! I used to be very particular about how I looked and although I am a lot more relaxed about it now I still like to look good. And, much more importantly, I need to feel organised! I get dd's bag & clothes ready every evening so I can feel some level of spontaneous "let's go out right now" in the morning and be ready in less than an hour to get out of the house.

Right - I am making some tea then hitting the sack. Very glad LM and babylove's LOs are okay and happy weekend to everyone.

MM

babylove21 · 24/10/2008 22:18

Thanks MM.
It's far more important to understand English than it is to spell

Re: changing bags, I also am using the free bag from boots but am now going to start using my fake chloe or prada leather bag as they are big enough. I bought a leather baby bag but it didn't have a zip so I was forever having things fall out.

Things I love about being a mother: When DS1 comes over and hugs or kisses his baby brother. And when DS1 is eating something he will feed his sister- he loves to share. How DS2 smiles whenever you look at him in complete happiness.

babylove glad docs appointment went well. not long to go for hospital appointment.

monkeysmama enjoy your night out tonight

NSSA hope you have a better weekend

Pina Glad you had a good holiday, the photos showed that you had an amazing time.

Mocat I hope you solve the mouse problem. I often find half eaten dead mice inside, but I think the cats bring them in.

Macaco Oooh I hate coakroaches

LM glad DD2 eyes are fine, it is horrible hearing them scream when you can't pick them up and reassure them.

Well today is supposed to be wet, cold and winding so who knows what we will do. Thinking of starting DS on solids this weekend, so will see if we get around to it.

We have put in an offer on a house and waiting to see if it gets accepted, it is a low offer so know knows. They might not accept, it is a huge house they we will divide into two houses. One for us and one for my parents, they aren't old (55 years old) but we are looking at having babysitters on the premises to help out when we need it. Also it is closer to where DH works as at the moment we live 35 miles out of town.

Hope everyone enjoys there weekend.

luckymummy74 · 25/10/2008 14:51

mitchell81 good luck with the house offer...it's a good time to buy, the housing market is very slow.

NSSA hope your miserable lovely DH is better and more helpful this weekend!

Well I just decided to try DD2 with some solids....she's 6 months next week. She ate a cube of mash potato!! Not too sure at first but she seemed to enjoy it???!!
I am determined not to stress about it this time, I got really stressed with DD1. I think I expected too much too soon.

Right, they have both gone down for a sleep. I'm feeling really lardy and think I might do my Davina DVD .

Talking of which...duchess, tell me about this boot camp thread? I need some inspiration to lose weight!

luckymummy74 · 25/10/2008 14:52

P.S. pina glad your hols was good.

MM enjoy your night out!

luckymummy74 · 25/10/2008 16:16

Just 'did' Davina.....I'm so red faced I look like Phil Mitchell.....

luckymummy74 · 25/10/2008 16:25

I think this might be why we haven't and won't hear from mumblesmummy again

I didn't read the whole thing, you just need to read the last few posts of page 4 (esp where she types in capitals!) and then the first few of page 5. She's obviously had enough of MN as she hasn't posted on any thread since.

(Can you tell I'm bored waiting for my girls to wake up?! ).

macaco · 25/10/2008 18:33

was going to say I thought I remember reading that thread and that she'd flounced.

notsoseriousanymore · 25/10/2008 18:40

LM I read that too.... I hope she is coping OK...

Sorry, no personal messages, just a quickie from me... I'm feeling done in... DS woke at 3am and DH decided he needed a bottle, so of course, DS WOULD NOT go back to sleep (actually settled down around 6am!!)

Oh, got to go...

notsoseriousanymore · 25/10/2008 22:13

It's going badly here tonght. Rreally badly. Not sure what will happen tomorrrow.

monkeysmama · 25/10/2008 22:19

NSSA-sending you a big hug. Not sure what's happening but hope you're ok. MM

babylove21 · 25/10/2008 23:21

quiet night here. LO in bed at 7.30 and not a peep since. I am praying she will sleep through. She usually does but the last 2 nights she has woken when i've gone to bed myself, probably my fault for putting the tv on, but it doesnt always disturb her. anyway only 3 bottles left arghhhhh, i ran out of milk making them up tonight. So it looks like i shall be at tesco at 10am tomorrow

Oh must say i bought a rainforest jumperoo second hand. My dd loves it, bounce bounce bounce. She is small so her body weight isnt enough to allow her feet to touch the floor so i have an old roasting dish upside down for her to put her feet on.
It's brilliant when i need to peg some washing out or do a bit of ironing,it will amuse her for ages. I end up taking her out worried i will wear out her little legs.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

macaco · 26/10/2008 08:51

oh dear NSSA hope you're ok.

monkeysmama · 26/10/2008 09:24

NSsA you ok?

Mitchell81 · 26/10/2008 10:37

NSSA: Hope you ok, I have sent you a message on FB

Mitchell81 · 26/10/2008 10:40

I was dreading the clocks changing this morning as DS2 has been waking between 5:30 and 7am, luckily this morning it was 6:30am so only 5:30 and not 4:30am. IYKWIM

So tonight will be normal time at least, I even tried keeping him awake last night until 8pm, but it made absolutely no difference.

notsoseriousanymore · 26/10/2008 16:16

Hey... Life's a bit tough here at the moment. THanks for all the messages here and FB.. THey are MUCH appreciated.
yeterday was horrid. Honestly thought DH was leaving last night. It doesn't seem to matter what I do, it's wrong.

Harry is wonderful, of course, as is the dog... Today has been better, DH seems happier for getting things off his chest, though whether that's a good thing or not for me / us in the long run, I'm not sure.

I just wish I knew what to do / say to help things.

Anyway, best go. Thanks again. NSsa x

monkeysmama · 26/10/2008 17:44

NSSA I'm thinking of you for what it's worth. I hope everything's okay and that you are ok. Take care. MM x

luckymummy74 · 26/10/2008 18:43

NSSA bit worried about you hun...are you OK? Do you want to talk about it or not really? We are all thinking of you and sending you big (((((hugs))))) .

I had a pretty shit day which started with DD2 waking at 5am (OK, sort of 6am, but that didn't really help me!). She then proceeded to projectile her milk feed at that time, involving changing our bed (at 5:30am...not impressed) and all her clothes .

DD1 woke at 6:30 (I know I know, really it was 7:30am, her normal time, but it still felt way too early).

I have horrendous shoulder pain today after holding DD2 at mass for 25 mins then pushing a double buggy for 40 mins with one hand while DD1 walked and I held her hand. I am pretty good with pain normally but with the lack of sleep aswell, I have been shouty mum from hell all day long. Poor DD1 was pretty good but I was really losing my wrag at the smallest thing she did 'wrong' IYSWIM. DD2 has been whinging all f**king day, I'm hoping it's teeth. She is driving ,me crazy today. I put her up for sleep and she didn't settle for ages, then when I got her up from sleep she had vomitted again and it was all in her eye, poor little thing. I had to clean it all up and her poor little eye is all red and sore . And now I feel really shitty and tearful about how shit a day it's been.

Just killing time until I can put DD2 to bed (she's whining again watching a DVD). Then I think it's bath, large glass of red wine and bed for me .

I know there are people out there a lot worse off than me, but it's very hard to reason when you are tired and in pain.....

Really sorry to whinge ladies. I hope you all had better days.

LM xx

NSSA please let us know you are OK lovey.

monkeysmama · 26/10/2008 20:18

Hey ladies

An ok weekend in the monkey household. Last night was worst yet sleep wise. From midnight dd woke every hour at least twice. After half hour leaning over her cot I burst into tears at 330am just calming down in time for her to wake again. Still following Dr Marc but she's started stirring half hour after going to bed now so I'm not sure what to do.

LM I feel your pain. My back's killing me & combined with no sleep.... Well, I had to go into our garden for a little scream earlier.

NSSA been thinking about you lots today. Entirely up to you if you want to "talk" about it or not but you can if you need to (or not). Sometimes being on here is a break from RL isn't it. I think from all our experiences our LOs are teething and being a bit harder atm. I feel sad to think you're dealing with it alone all week & having other issues too. I have infinite respect for you being on your own with Harry all week. I think you're London based? Let me know if you'd enjoy a glass of wine.

Enough from me. Off to bed!
MM

I'm fine... Thanks guys!!
I love DH so much and it's hard to see him not that happy, but he knows I am here for him...
DS is very happy this morning, he has taken to getting up at 6am for a couple of hours and then going for a little sleep around 8-9am. I don't mind, because he's so happy and smily that it's impossible not to feel happy looking at him.
I won't have much internet access this week, so won't be about too much, but I'll catch up with you guys in a couple of days.

LM - I hope you have a better day
PIna - Am loving your new FB profile pic
Mitchell - Thanks for everything and I hope DD has a good time back at school
MM Yes down in London!! Always up for a coffee / glass of wine

Thanks again for thinking of me, it's very kind of you all.. Hopefully next week will be better...

NSSA xx
