Congratulations My2! Happy for you, I hope the job works out well, also hope dd2's teeth come soon. I still think that babie should just be born with teeth! They cause them so much trouble.

Joseph has got 7 teeth now and I think another on the way. His top teeth are so beautiful and cos he's so tall, when he grins he looks like such a little boy, not even babyish anymore.

He seems to have been sleeping really well this last week, going from 7pm til 6am instead of his usual 5am. Sadly, I am so programmed to wake up at 5 now that I have been up watching the monitor every damn morning!

Helibee, my next door neighbour had periods all the way through her pregnancy and only found out at 22 weeks when she kept feeling something moving in her tummy! She didn't even show til 30 weeks so was so shocked. I think if you are 'feeling' pregnant and the metallic taste then I'd probably wait a bit and do another test. It may have been too early to pick up in the first test. Sounds like you'd quite like to have another baby!

I am (just about) over my broodiness. I think it was just the relief of Joseph getting easier once he learned to walk and I finally felt it was all worth while and wished I could do it all again. Thankfully I have come to my senses!

Better go eat.

My2 · 25/09/2008 19:42

helibee - make an appointment quick and put us out of our misery whether you are or not! does it feel like when you were pg with callum?

conker/helibee re the 17th - somewhere child friendly (goes without saying...). maybe a soft play (though i only know the ones out my way). i'm happy to travel so wherever suits you both.

gill - yes checked before i applied that it could be part time. dd2 is on teeth no 15 and 16 - they look like they will break the skin very soon. it's so strange how they are all so different.

lizzie - my boobs were painful with both dds till about 26 weeks - then i got a few weeks of them being ok (before they were a no go zone again). if anyone so much as looked at them it felt sore!

dd2 went to sleep cuddling her upsy daisy which i'm not sure is a good thing as upsy daisy's hair will tickle her...

My2 · 25/09/2008 19:43

xposts meandmyjoe

hope you enjoyed your food.

conkertree · 25/09/2008 19:49

teeth 15 and 16!!! wow - ds is still having trouble getting 5 and 6 out - he's been working on them for some months now and nothing - dribbles for Scotland most days.

at your neighbour meandmyjoe - must have been such a shock to feel it moving. but good in one way that the whole thing would be so much shorter.

am 10 weeks tomorrow - nice to think thats a quarter of it done.

lol at the ocd colleague too my2 - can understand it a bit though cause if you've left them on more than once and had that worry, i can see why you might.

off to centreparcs on monday - really looking forward to it. hope ds's skin doesnt react too badly to being in the pool everyday. we're going to get a proper photograph done of us too when we are there - none of us are very photogenic though so hope it isnt a complete disaster.

i am happy to go anywhere too my2 - helibee - you decide and tell us what would suit you best.

hi knickers - are you getting really excited? cant believe how quickly your 40 weeks has gone. (maybe not for you).

well done on your dd saying daddy - ds says da da but means pretty much anything when he says it (including daddy) - he also says thankyou but if you are not listening very carefully, it sounds a lot like da da .

GillL · 26/09/2008 16:20

Bought ds his first pair of shoes, size 4H. They took a picture of him looking in the mirror and put it in a little cardboard frame. He managed to get one of them off twice while we were eating lunch so I took them off and then he lost a sock

Went to see a school round the corner this morning. It seemed very nice. The person who showed us round said that we had a good chance of getting in based on location. It's C of E but they can only offer 50% of their places based on religion. I told her that the Catholic school was slightly closer but they seemed to be trying to put us off because we're not Catholic. She seemed surprised and said she assumes they have to follow the same rules on selection. Dd seemed to like it and is now calling it her new school and wanted to stay there all day

My2 - that's sweet. Did the tickling wake her up? Ds has a lion that he often falls asleep cuddling. For some reason dh calls it his bear so I think it's going to confuse him when we start teaching him that it's a lion.

Conker - hope you have a good time in Centerparcs. We went to Whinfell for our honeymoon. Which one are you going to?

Knickers - can't believe you're 36 weeks already Have you got everything prepared? Have you decided on a name yet?

Joe wole up at 5am so is just having a nap. He's dribbling everywhere, think his top canines are coming through.

Hope everyones having a good weekend.

I go to bed at 9pm! Not all nights but at least a few nights a week so I don't mind too much. Every so often Joe suprises me and sleeps through til 6 or 7 but mostly I still wake at 5 cos I'm so used to it now! I just tell myself it could be worse.... I have a friend with a 20 month old who has NEVER slept through! Joe goes 10- 11 hours every night and has done since 10 weeks so in that way I'm lucky!

I hope your ds will be a fab sleeper. Are you all ready then? I loved all the excitement of buying new clothes and geting my hospital bag ready. I think I packed it at about 30 weeks cos I was so excited!!!

meandmyjoe - i was another who loved packuing the hospital bag - think that was my favourite part of being pg - other than feeling the baby kick etc. and most of it came in useful - might leave the natural sponge at home next time.

gill - we are going to whinfell. went in january with the rest of the family but just the three of us this time which will be nice.

snot - good to hear about bradley. hope the course goes well.

am sending my job application off tonight so fingers crossed i get an interview.

see you all in a week. x

Knickers, have you had to get a double buggy then? I always wonder how me and dh would manage if we have another baby but I guess Joe would then be old enough not to need the buggy, not really sure how long they need to go in a buggy for. Joe already walks short journeys like from our house to the local shops or round the corner to the park but I'm not sure he'd do any great distance yet but he's only been walking since the day before his birthday so plenty of time I suppose.

Conker, good luck with the job application, hope you have a lovely week away!

Hello. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had Saturday night off to visit friends. I was hoping to catch up on some sleep but we wanted to make the most of it and didn't get in til 1am! I can't remember the last time I went to bed later than 11pm.

Went to visit our new nephew yesterday. I can't believe how tiny he is. He is wearing newborn clothes but they drown him so I'm going to pick up some tiny baby babygrows for him this week. I've never seen a premie nappy before - they'd be too small for dd's baby dolls!

Good to hear from you snot. So pleased Bradley's fully recovered. Is he eating well? Glad ds1 is enjoying nursery.

Knickers, meandmyjoe - good choice of name

I didn't get a double-buggy but then I don't walk very much. I think it depends on the age of the child and their willingness to walk. Even though dd is 3.6 yrs I still sometimes take a buggy if I take her shopping without ds. She gets very tired when walking and wants to be carried, even though she is out walking to school and pre-school every day. When she's out with mum she often rides on the front of the buggy. If I could afford it I'd get a buggy board, one with 2 levels so she could sit down.

Hersetta · 29/09/2008 15:58

Hiya all,

back from Spain and even have a slight tan despite 2 days of torrential rain. Caitlin had a blast with Nana and grandad and is coming on really well. She now says hello to all and sundry (including to herself in a mirror)and when in the mood can also say thank you rather than ta and can count to two (although she can't say one- she says dar instead, but in the same tone as we've been saying one to her so I know that's what she means). She was a monkey one night in a restaurant when she would drop toys on the floor, she'd look over to the waitress she had been saying hello to all night, then look down at the floor and point to her dropped toy and amazingly the waitress would trot over and pick it up for her - she was so cheeky.

Despite my worries she was an angel on the plane both ways and giggled and played peek a boo with other passengers and tried to share her snacks with the people sat next to us by thrusting breadsticks at them!

Hope all are well.

meandmyjoe · 30/09/2008 16:10

Glad you had a good holiday Hersetta. I can't imagine daring to take Joseph on a plane he ets bored after 30 minutes in the car!!

Not much to report here. Took Jpseph to a huuuuugggeee toy store in Grimsby today and got loads of things for his Christmas presents. I hate leaving it til last minute!

Anyone else have problems with their baby in a shop??? Joseph always wants to walk every where but then has a sceachy little tantry whenever we pick him up or move him away from things. He also leans over and screeches when he can't reach things if he's in the buggy or trolley seat. I'm thinking it's maybe just Joseph that acts like this though!

helibee · 30/09/2008 23:52

meandmyjoe-callum l.ikes to walk round the shops and grab everything in sight too and also complains when you try and move him away.

This morning i'd popped into the ensuite and Callum was opening drawers in the bedroom, next thing i know he's gone very quiet and i came out to find that he was trying to eat a tampon (in it's wrapper of course) saying yum but hey i can at least embarass him with that when the 1st girlfriend comes round

knickers-Alexander/Alex is a lovely name, i will try and meet up with you when i come to see my brother and sil.

conker-hope you're having a fab time, whinfell is lovely.

hersetta-what a clever wee girl you have. Callum can now say "daddy nice" and "oo oo" for the train (which daddy gets home from work on every day-thats why he likes that one)

Gill-glad you had a lovely weekend and your wee nephew will grow so fast, my cousins wee one was a preemie but by 6months he weighed 26lb!!!

sorry for the double post-the 17th oct is fine to meet upo my2 and conker. dh said that he knows of a big soft play in Glasgow-i'll check it out and let you know the details if ok

GillL · 01/10/2008 13:08

Hello. I'm not sure where the morning has gone. I've spent the last few days wishing the time away but I've been so busy today. I prefer to be busy though, otherwise I spend the whole day counting down the minutes until I can pick up the dcs

I've been late for work every day this week. Bil's car broke down on Thursday and it is still in the garage so I am picking my niece and nephew up to take them to mum's in the morning. I've been leaving 15 minutes earlier and still struggling for time. Dd normally falls asleep in the car on the way home and stays asleep but her cousins have been keeping her awake. Makes my life difficult while dh is away. Ds has a cold and cough. He disturbed at 04:50 and went back to sleep. I tried for an hour and then gave up. It gave me enough time to shower and put the rubbish out though so could be worse. I'm going to take the scenic route home tonight to try to get dd to bed so I can get an early night.

Glad you had a nice holiday Hersetta. It's good that you can get over there quite often so Caitlin can get to know her nana and grandad. She sounds like a dream on the plane.

meandmyjoe - Ds doesn't get the chance to come out of the buggy in shops. It helps that he's so laid back and is happy to sit back and watch the world go by. Dd was like Joseph.

helibee - you have to watch them like a hawk don't you! I always know when ds has got something he shouldn't have - when he's quiet

Sorry for rambling. I was wondering whether or not to post because I didn't have anything to say
