dippy - feeling for you

sol - ds1 is normally asleep between 7-7.30pm and as for patience, if I was any good that that I would have been a nurse!!!! Work bought me the Take That single of 'Patience' when I left to have the twins, I told thats what I needed - not luck

ellie - hope you are feeling better today

Jack woke at 12.50am screaming - woke Erin so I gave them both milk (bet I am the only stupid one who still gives night feeds ) well they took it in turns screaming & being quiet until dh got home at 2am (from work)

We took one each, I went into our bedroom - where Erin sang songs and kept quacking Jack stayed with dh and they were both eventually in their own cots asleep by 3.15am .

DH and I then had a picnic we are shattered today and I am back to work tomorrow

Pinions · 24/07/2008 15:50

Sorry not really read the whole of the last posts (time) but Dippy and anyone else feeling cr*p.

I had blood tests done this week to test for kidney function, liver function, blood count, iron, thyroid and diabetes.

I feel much the same as you, very run down/tired/exhausted and on and on. Also I felt exactly the same at about this stage after having L, maybe it's no coincidence, maybe it's the body still recovering??

Atm I go to bed exhausted and seem to wake up even more tired .

School holidays don't exactly help.

Am awaiting results but I think it's iron.

CaptainDippy · 24/07/2008 16:30

I expect so too Pinions - need to get some Vit C & FS into me probably. Bleurgh!

Just woken up. Friend's baby was gorgoues (not broody though ) ....

evening everyone

StealthPolarBear · 24/07/2008 18:25

pillock are you better?

elkiedee · 24/07/2008 18:30

POTC, love that story.

Dooby, ugh, please, I feel sick now!

Well, though I wouldn't wish the worry or the test on anyone, it seemed to go quite smoothly, the doctor said she'd had no problems with what she needed to do and that that should already reduce the miscarriage risk significantly. Apparently last Tuesday's scan was fine (measurements etc), it was the blood test results that pushed up the risk.

Like amnio, the test involves another scan - she took cells from the placenta. She checked whether we'd like to know the sex so afterwards we discussed names over fruit salad in the canteen. I have lots of ideas for girls' names but of course, that's not what we're expecting.

It seems terribly presumptuous at the moment to be thinking of what would work with his surname and wouldn't cause confusion with first cousins, second cousins, step cousins etc.

I've spent most of today lying in bed with the TV on in the background. dp has taken D to the park as usual and I'll have tea with them and try and resist the impulse to pick my baby up as I'm not supposed to bend and lift.

NorthernLurker · 24/07/2008 18:42

Glad all went smoothly Elkie.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/07/2008 19:10

Unfortunately not SPB, still fully dosed up on painkillers to get myself through the day, just can't shift this headache, at its worst I have to sit down it hurts so much. But I had to go into work today to get some things finished off, Skott and his gf were at home with J for me so I didn't have to worry about him. And I was working from home this afternoon.

Still, I've got some time off now so hopefully we can both shift the illness and have a better week next week!

How is T?

OP posts:
Pisha · 24/07/2008 19:25

Glad the test all went smoothly Elkie at not being able to pick D up, you'll just have to have lots of sitting down cuddles!

Dippy sorry you're still feeling so rough , did you ring the Dr? Agree with others re abs being a waste of time if its viral, how long have you been taking them for? Because if you saw the dr week before last that seems like a very long course for you to still be taking them.

Lol at M! Whilst driving along on holiday, completely out of the blue, Nathan asked 'what colour is ladybird poo?'! Luckily J was on hand and immediately answered 'Black'! How does he know?!? Must be a boy thing!!

Had lovely day with dc today at the park. Dylan's walking is really coming on now, he can stand up on his own without anything to pull up on (although was using the dog quite regularly when he was within reach and standing still!) and walking quite far before getting over excited and falling over his own feet! Hes also learnt to swing himself on the swings, leaning forward and backward as he goes (see video on facebook!) so I only have to get him started and he just swings and swings on his own!! Although I did have to slow him down a couple of times when he got a bit carried away and was going too fast! Even Nathan can't really swing himself like that yet! And Nathan has learnt at school how to ride his bike without stabilisers (video on facebook again!!) which was going to be our aim for the summer holidays so I was fairly redundant today! Very proud of Nathan on his bike though, he was cycling all over the park and tearing down the slopes and all over the place!

Also very proud of both of them for excellent school reports and Maia doing really well in her SATS and without her even knowing she was doing them! I'm actually enjoying them being off school atm but I don't expect that to last for more than a couple of hours days!! Maia off to her dad's tomorrow for a week, not looking forward to that

Bugger, Dylan onl;y slept for about 10 mins this afternoon then fell alseep at 6pm in highchair so I carried him to bed but hes now just woken up crying. Poo.

StealthPolarBear · 24/07/2008 19:45

Hi everyone
elkie, glad the tests went smoothly, hope you are resistig the temptation to do too much
POTC, sorry you're still feeling rough, how long are you off for? Hope some tme off sorts it out. T is fine, thanks for asking, has been back at nursery today. Has been very grouchy tonight though, he'll either be asleep by 8 or still up at 10
Pisha well done to your 2 eldest for their reports! Take some credit to yourself as well as a good mummy

CaptainDippy · 24/07/2008 19:46

Awww, sounds idyllic Pisha xx I didn't start taking the ABs til the other day cos I kept forgetting Couldn't get hold of Dr Will try again tomorrow.

Glad all went smoothly Elkie Ooooh, another boy - they'll be so close

elkiedee · 24/07/2008 19:51

Good luck with getting LOs to sleep. D has just been taken out for his getting to sleep walk, think it could take a while, he was blowing raspberries and looking very pleased with himself, and looking very bright eyed and bushy tailed.

Pesha, wow at your clever kids.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 24/07/2008 19:58

Not back at work until Wednesday, and then I'm plannng to spend the rest of the week sorting filing cabinets! It'll be the longest run of days I've had off work since I went back after J. Got some things planned, some more wandering as usual and meeting up with a friend. Really looking forward to it

I always think they take a backwards step if they've been off nursery, go back to getting really tired out by the day until they settle into it again.

J seems much better, he was up at 6 but then slept 9-12 and 3-5, hasn't needed calpol this afternoon and been much less grouchy. Hoping to get him settled for the night now, M is at daddy's house until Saturday.

Arse. I thought I'd got him back to sleep with some calpol and another bottle but hes now shouting again. Hes not going to go back to sleep now I don't think so I'm going to have to get him up and hes going to be awake all bloody evening/night now And maia and Nathan are playing at being dogs in the garden still and showing no signs of tiredness [exasperated emoticon] Where do people get these children that actually sleep?!?! I want one of them!
