ooh is TBM ok? I have been trying to track her down - we're meant to be playing geeky games together

OP posts:
Jas · 04/11/2008 20:44

DS really enjoyed meeting her ( and playing with her toys!)

EachPeachPearMum · 04/11/2008 23:06

Flame- she had to go in again last night- contractions, though they have slowed now, thank goodness.

CantSleepWontSleep · 05/11/2008 07:32

Horrendous night here.

What a coincidence EPPM!
Thank you for your parcel .

Jas · 05/11/2008 12:54

My buggy broke coming home loaded with shopping today

Do you get a rest when dd is at c/m or nursery csws?

mustdripgore · 05/11/2008 13:09

Er, yeah, she justs sends the baby to mrcsws in Dublin for an hour Sorry, couldsnt resistt that sarcasm.

I'd give you our buggy, except it went in the bin! Every single rivet was loose, and I had to cut half the brake off wth a breadknife after some football netting got trapped and bent it.

EachPeachPearMum · 05/11/2008 20:33

HUh- our buggy is broken too- can't fold down at all, brakes crap though at least you can still push it along (just about)- weird.
WHy are they all so crappy?

Frizbe · 05/11/2008 21:29

at work, as dh is ill, so I'm running the games! he has tummy bug, ss has had it, I'm drinking yakult by the bucket in hope of not getting it....praying the girls don't get it for the weekend/avoid it....

CSWS sorry to hear ds isn't sleeping well/screaming lots, if it helps Meridians ds would only sleep on his tummy, from the word go, he was also doing pushups from 3 weeks and crawling by 4 mths

Waves at everyone, really am missing having internet access at home no end!

dd1 was 5 last Saturday, where did that time go She had a lovely time and I borrowed your tower idea Jas and dh and I did swiss roll and icecream cone princess towers, a block of 3 to be precise, with an icing dragon (or a frog as it got mistaken for!) which dd1 thought was marvelous, she got upset when we came to eat it

Frizbe · 05/11/2008 21:36

Oh btw if anyone wants a great fun game for adults for Xmas, Can I recommend Monty Python Fluxx, cheap, quick to play and very funny

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/11/2008 20:58

No rest Jas, as ds still requires me full time. Dh hasn't been to Dublin since ds born actually, but he is going for a couple of days next week - eek!
A better night last night, and after 2 days almost dairy free, ds has gone from doing about 10 poos a day to only one or two today. Let's hope he isn't bothered by me having a bit of ice cream at in-laws today.

Jas · 06/11/2008 22:24

Sounds like dairy free is the way to go then.

Frizbe - glad you tried the castle thing They are very easily pleased at 5 Can't believe she is that old though

My buggy frame snapped I now have my crap buggy, my friends teeny tiny american thing, or the offer of a PandT to use Sounds daft but I'm not sure what to do. I have teeny tiny one here, andnit will give me backache I think, as it is too low. Crap buggy is, well, crap!. PandT has been in my mates front garden for almost a year, and is huge.
I really don't want to buy another one for an almost three year old last child though.

Life here is stressful.....dp/work situation is no better, but I am very preoccupied with the sudden death of a neighbour (motorbike accident) and worried about a pg/seriously mentally ill (IMO) friend.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2008 19:17

Oh Jas - for your life in general at the moment.

A quick 'ooh, how exciting' for one of my old thread titles being used on the mumsnet poster .

Jas · 07/11/2008 19:19

Don't make me hunt around for ages....I've no idea what you are on about.

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/11/2008 19:26

Did you not get the weekly email mentioning this? The one about contractions was mine.

Phoenix · 07/11/2008 19:35

I've never once read a mumsnet email but how exciting for you

Sounds like dairy free is the way to go again csws. for no choccie and ice cream etc but i bet you're kind of used to it now.

I've put an application form in for ds a nursery place at a local primary school. I still have no clue about nursery/school places and i could have applied for him a nursery place as soon as he turned 2. Hope i haven't left it too late. If he doesn't get a place there i'm sure i can get him into one of the private nurseries near us from April when he can get a funded place.

Hope everyones ok

EachPeachPearMum · 07/11/2008 20:18

spent the day in hospital (A&E and Assessment Ward) yesterday and at women's hosp today for check up on baby.
Had a prolonged tachycardia yesterday morning (7am) got shipped to A&E in an ambulance, stayed there until 10 or so, then transferred to assessment ward, and they ummed and ahhed until 5:45 before deciding to let me go home. Got home at 6:30. Dr called me to say I needed to go to Women's hosp triage today for checks on baby.
Baby was monitored for 30mins... he is fine... I am having contractions every 3 mins....
I haven't felt them, but hey- never felt any BH last pg either.
Have lain in bed all afternoon... and can feel them if I lie on my left, but not in any other position
What to do?
If I go back (which is what they told me to do if I feel them) they will just put me in a hospital bed, on a monitor- they won't do anything, cos nothing is really happening IYSWIM. I can lie in bed at home, surely? (am there now with macbook)
Just a bit fed up and worried tbh- his heartbeat was dropping with each contraction- so HE could feel them, even though I couldn't. But it was SO CRAP being in hosp all day, lying there with nothing to do (cos it was emergency admission) and not being able to see DD

From the 'feel' of them, I think I had them last pg too- I just assumed it was DD moving around, rather than kicking IYSWIM.

Gah!

CSWS- great news for being on the poster!
Jas- sorry things are crappy atm. Am with you on the buggy thing- DD is refusing to walk anywhere atm, and her buggy has had it now... I really don't want to buy a double! We have no room for it, and FGS- they're nearly 3!

EachPeachPearMum · 07/11/2008 20:21

Oh- and the weird thing about the hospital- as there is a military unit at ours... the staff are all mixed civilian and military- was very odd... and I have never seen so many staff! There were 16 patients in assessment, with 4 trainee typr drs, 4 consultant drs, 4 normal drs, 4 nurses, 2 orderlies. It was total chaos in there.

Jas · 07/11/2008 20:51

I'd try and rest tonight, and go back armed with books and puzzles tomorrow if you can still feel them, but I'm a bit of a pessamist and would be too anxious to do anything without being checked again....

I went in with chest pains at about 36 weeks last time and was having contractions fairly regularly then, but didn't feel them (until they had been pointed out) either.

Unless they actually hurt, I'd aim for "not worried"....

DS won't walk where I want him to, and wants carrying if I need to go anywhere faster than a snails pace. He also bolts into roads!
I've given up on the minibuggy, and am going to swap it for the pand t next week, and if that is no good, check out the next nct sale.

csws - I only read morningpapers emails, so I'd missed it!

Good luck with the nursery place Phoenix. I'm not going to apply til after Christmas as ds won't be going anywhere untilit is funded. Now that school nurseries take them so young there aren't long waiting lists for regular nurseries round here.

mustdripgore · 07/11/2008 21:01

Ok, so I cant be bothered to open the pdf file. What was the thread title?

Poor you EPPM, but I'm with Jas on the stay-where-you-are-for-now theory.

And poor you Jas. Thats alot going on If its any consolation, p&t's are a dream to push even though they're bigger than a stroller. So it'll actually prob feel easier to you than your defunct buggy. I cant believe I've had 16 buggies over 5 years and now someone needs one, I dont have one! I assume you've tried freecycle?

I did a really good aerobics tonight. Still havent worked out why it feels so much better in my head than other times. Even allowing for tiredneess etc, I still can take it better psychologically some days. I know doing it in the nice room has alot to do with it though

Thinkin of name changing.

EachPeachPearMum · 07/11/2008 21:05

No- they don't hurt at all... I can just 'feel' them, can't explain better than that

We are going to a concert tomorrow and a firework party, and DH has to have tests at the hosp sunday... so can't really see me going back before monday anywya!

mrm- any ideas on new name?

Phoenix · 07/11/2008 21:07

Ds isn't going anywhere til he's funded either Jas. I'm just so confused about all this school stuff and have no idea which primary school i want him to go to. No idea if a school nursery/pre school or private nursery is better aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!

Ds walks quite a lot now. It's just sometimes easier than dealing with a tantrum every time i get his pushchair out. He always asks for a carry though wherever we go so i usually say 'no you wanted to walk. Do you want me to go back and get your pushchair' (obviously hoping he'll say 'no mummy, i'll walk still') and he says 'yes please mummy' when we're miles away from the car. PITA

mustdripgore · 07/11/2008 21:08

But its all the faffing about in limbo crap, isnt it?

Er, no ideas. Something that sounds the same but reflects the fact that running isnt 100% of my exercise now, given that I'm doing 6-8 hours of aerobics classes a week, and I really wanna do that aswell as a few long runs and have a life too Ideas??!

mustdripgore · 07/11/2008 21:09

Btw, ds2 was doinh so well with no buggy, has been for weeks, but he's had to be carried everywhere last 2 days. Think he's coming down wit something.
Did I mention he's dry at night now Ds1 is jealous as helll, but he just cant do it

Jas · 07/11/2008 21:10

Something like "(Fairly urgent) What do contractions actually feel like?"

You have to give to the only freecycle I ever bothered to register with, before you can take, and I never did so hadn't even tried. I'm very picky due to wanting extra height to save my back, so not likel;y to find anyone giving away a maclaren, I guess, anyway.

Phoenix · 07/11/2008 21:12

at dry at night. Ds still won't go nappy free at all. Not even for a few minutes . I've tried bribery and sticker charts and he just isn't interested
