Dream catch me - Newton Faulkner

Having a soppy moment, that's sort of how I feel about being here with you girls sometimes

Tired, thought I was going to be sick earlier but have managed not to be so far.

My scan's tomorrow afternoon and then I'm off work for a week - a day on strike which would be two but then we're heading up north on Thursday, so I'm already not at work anyway. I can't wait. It sounds like my mum's setting up a private playground in the back garden for D and my stepsister's son (who's only 7 weeks older).

Enjoy your pancakes, NL.

NorthernLurker · 14/07/2008 22:22

Yes I think I'd better head off and whip up the batter

Hope you scan goes well Elkie - will be thinking of you and the little one (And dp and D of course)

Night all - great drinking chatting with you

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/07/2008 22:22

that sounds like a great weekend Elkie, enjoy it

I've sent texts to Eca and IDOC telling them we're missing them

OP posts:
PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/07/2008 22:23

now I'm off to crash out in my nice big bed and enjoy being able to lie diagonally across it if I so wish (ended up with J in with me as soon as I'd sent the man packing last night!)

night all

PillockOfTheCommunity · 14/07/2008 22:32

text from IDOC (at least, I hope it's her, she's under her RL name in my phone!)

"Aww that's very sweet of you! I am a very bad virtual friend aren't I? I do lurk occasionally but always feel a bit crap about popping in so infrequently so run away again! Would you talk to me if I popped in from time to time? I do think about you all xxx"

I sent one back saying
Of course we would you mad woman

Aw, think I miss out on all the fun tonight

Night guys xx

NorthernLurker · 14/07/2008 23:30

Just popped back before bed - hi dippy

leakyR · 15/07/2008 09:07

Good morning.

You guys were very chatty (and sentimental) yesterday. I know I haven't been on as much lately but I lurk a bit and am comforted by the thought that you're all here if I need you/need cheering up/need to rant or babble.

Thanks for the FB list POTC have to confess I was a bit hazy about putting RL and FB names together for some of you.

Off work as feeling rubbish (sick and dizzy) still. GP has given me something to combat the nausea and if I continue to feel better in terms of the PND I'll gradually stop taking the ADs in a couple of months time.

Have taken G to nursery so I might go and lie on my bed and read now.

Have a lovely day everyone x

CaptainDippy · 15/07/2008 09:49

I really do hope things sort out for you Leaky, you poor thing. I can sympathise up to a point as I have had this yukky virus thing for over a month now and still not really feeling any better Cough still there and feeling dizzy and sick ....

Sorry for moan!

Morning!

mammyjo · 15/07/2008 10:10

Morning all.

Leaky, hope you feel much better soon. At least the PND part has improved

POTC, and at the magical fingers!!!!! And yes, I remember our hugging moment in the car park! I am a hugging type of girl I am afraid

Bramshott, I can see where you are coming from with arguing over the bins! I am settled again now thankfully

Thanks for the comments about my photos everyone! Eddas, I have added you as a friend this morning. I have never put photos up before so it took me a while. Not particularly technically minded! Now you can all view my ugly mug

mammyjo · 15/07/2008 10:12

Hi CD! By the time I finished reading and then actually posted I managed to x post with you! Sorry you are still feeling rough.

mammyjo · 15/07/2008 10:12

Forgot to say, Elkie, lots of luck for your scan today. Thinking of you xxx

elkiedee · 15/07/2008 10:15

Thanks mj and others, it's quite late this afternoon so I will try and post this evening as we'll probably head straight to pick up D from there, and weather permitting, go to the park.

cazboldy · 15/07/2008 10:56

Wow - you lot have been busy chatting!

Dooby - if you feel like having a moan about dh's job (or even dh ) then do so! God knows I do it often enough!

SOL - I have chatted to a couple of people now - one is a secretary at the high school, and also to the head of lower school at the high school, and they said that some children do struggle a bit with the transition, but who is to say that they wouldn't have struggles anyway? so obviously they don't have any concerns.....

POTC - at M's legs littleangel and I bet that's just what you said wasn't it?

MJ - wow to the talk of emigrating - My Mum would love to live in Sydney!

Elkie - am sorry you are finding D such hard work atm Realy hope you feel better soon. good luck with your scan xx

Bramshott - Happy Birthday for yesterday It was dh's birthday too!

I did my last day helping in Harry's class yesterday, and I feel really They made me a lovely card, and bought me a plant bless them

cazboldy · 15/07/2008 10:59

Oh and meant to add that if I had a big enough house and a big enough car I would have another one!

but as it is that is extremely unlikely!

cazboldy · 15/07/2008 11:04

and 1 more thing

dc's got their reports yesterday and am very pleased with them all [proud mummy]

apparantly dd1 is "an absolute pleasure to teach"

and ds1's is really positive. "he is a very bright and capable boy" (not sure where he gets that from..... )

and ds2's is really nice, praises the amount of help we have given him at home, and his spelling and reading has really improved

all in all really great!

mammyjo · 15/07/2008 11:08

I have the emigrating bug now! I have been sorting my cv out this morning. The nurse manager that emailed me back yesterday asked me to send it to her, then she could interview me over the phone!
It is a really scary prospect, but at the same time very exciting. Dh is desperate to go, would go tomorrow if we could, but he will have to wait a while first!

I have found an australian expo thing in London in October. Basically, lots of employers there, plus people to talk to about visas, banking, driving licences etc. I think I might book tickes for that as it may be a good place to start. I found it through an Australian government website so hope it would be genuine.
I apologise and will shut up now as I realise I am fast becoming a bore on the subject and I haven't even started yet!!

Caz, glad the school looks promising and they have no concerns.

Dooby, this is the best place to moan about dh's. I do it all the time Sorry I missed the cake last night!

mammyjo · 15/07/2008 11:08

Madness MJ

Great stuff about the reports Caz

Not a great day so far in DippyLand

elkiedee · 15/07/2008 11:22

Feel free to talk to me about your emigration plans, mj. I don't want to but I'd love to hear about yours. If you worry about it boring people on this thread, you could start a separate one and then those of us who are nosy can read that anyway, plus you can pick up advice from others who've done it or who live there anyway. There's a Sydney meet up thread in active conversations at the moment!

Doobydoo · 15/07/2008 11:25
