ds sleeping a lot today - 45 mins out in pram at nursery, 2 hrs this afternoon and in bed for 7.10pm - I do hope he's not sickening for anything. Nappies a bit smelly and runny - blamed it on the garlic bread last night - but maybe same as you girls d just now and the v to follow??

KristinaM · 26/02/2005 13:27

Welcome Albosmum.
Well down on the work front LucyJones. Hope it works out for you all.

Hi all. I'm new to Mumsnet :-)

My 2nd DD was born 13th April 04. She now weighs 24lbs (ish!!) and has been walking for 6 weeks, she has 7 sharp little teeth that she likes to bite me with when she thinks I'm not giving her enough attention! She doesn't sleep through the night though :-( In fact, she hardly sleeps at all!!

i am v scared of the v idea of ds walking, as we have nicknamed him conan the destryor since he was able to crawl ! so far just crusing and stand aloning don't think I have much more time left though
i was told that the 1st 6 wks were the hardest - THEY LIED!!
on the up side I have now lost that last 1/2 stn of baby weight from all the running around !!

Along with being able to walk - ds doesn't realy want to be in the pram any more and is fighting going in the car seat. He wants to walk everywhere - except in the house (where he's allowed to walk) - where he wants to be carried everywhere so he can see from up high!

Chuffed · 27/02/2005 14:24

I can highly recommend a backpack carrier, they are great for those days of not wanting to go in the pushchair.
dd's walking has been a bit stagnant with her wanting to be carried with not feeling well. Apparently she walks more at nursery than at home.
We were up at a&e at the hospital last night after dd woke up with a blood nose from her nap and it wouldn't stop and she had v high temp. 'A virus' that should pass with time but at least they had a bit better look than the gp does.
Well off to the park, have a good day.

Karen2305 · 27/02/2005 14:28

Thanks for the welcomes

Both of my girls have been early walkers - I was hoping DD2 would slow down a bit but no chance!! I'm a nervous wreck - there's nothing she can't trash now!! LOL

LucyJones · 27/02/2005 14:36

Welcome Karen and hi to evryone else. Ds still isn't crawling never mind walking

hewlettsdaughter · 27/02/2005 14:38

Hi Karen. Enjoy it while you can Lucy . FWIW, I think there's quite a lot of early walkers here.

Gawd help us tonight- ds was up at 6am, had an hours nap at 8-9am and has been on the go ever since - showing no signs of tiredness. Although still at least 2 hours to go till an early bath/bed time! I hope the last hour isn't a killer!

dolbear · 27/02/2005 16:40

i consider myself lucky if ds goes to bed by 9pm , have tried earlier , but then he just wakes up for midnight snack instead

bad luck on the nose bleed !!! thought ds had c/pox , but the spots disappeared so who knos

Karen2305 · 27/02/2005 17:38

Don't talk to me about chickenpox . I've been a prisioner of the house of pox for nearly 4 weeks now

Well Done Yorkiegirl's DD on the walking

How is the littley with the nosebleed now?

Chuffed · 27/02/2005 17:56

a lot more herself today - so hopefully we're on the mend, this 'virus' has just been hanging around now on and off for almost a month. She has been tottering around today so that is a good sign.

Welcome to all our newby's we are a friendly bunch here and the more the merrier!

MrsDoolittle · 27/02/2005 19:44

Hi Everyone!
I can't imagine all the walkers! Karen - dd was born April 10 and she is well and truly not mobile. Not that we are bothered really, everyone tells us that we need to watch out when it starts.
A quiet weekend for us. It's rugby season! Everything comes to a standstill for the Six Nations. And Ireland were playing today which meant that we couldn't go out for fear of not getting back for kick off So I have my fill of lovely legs

lunavix · 27/02/2005 20:08

Hi!

Had a scary incident today, ds was crying all night, and he's such a good boy normally. Dp and I got up with him, but dp decided he was attention crying so we left him, got up occassionally to check on him, but left him till this morning. Got him up this morning and gave him his milk, and he was sitting on me and superprojectile vomited everywhere and didn't stop for ages

I went upstairs and turns out his bed was covered in vomit.. just couldn't tell as it had all ended up under his sleeping bag.

I feel so bad for him, being sick all night and us leaving him OOH doctor says its gastroenteritus, so he's having lots of fluids but he's very soppy and cuddly. Just feel so sorry for him.

Started crawling properly now too, uses a mix of normal and commando. Particularly loves chasing after MIL and FIL's golden retriever! I think that's how he perfected it! She's coming to stay next week, think she's in for a shock as he will follow her everywhere.

We have tooth number 2 as well, but no standing or cruising or anything yet, although he has noticed the stairs for the first time..

Welcome to all the newbies

Fennel · 27/02/2005 20:43

oh lunavix that's the sort of thing that would happen to me. once we were babysitting my sister's baby at about this age and dsis came home to find her precious baby lying in a pool of vomit - we'd had the baby monitor on but hadn't heard a thing she didn't leave her with us for ages after that!

dd3 got another tooth last week (now I know why the bf was particularly painful) and is teething tonight, no 8. I feel that is plenty I wish she'd stop getting them.

weighed dd3 again on the bathroom scales she seems to be 20lb now but she was 21lb a month ago. I'm sure she's bigger than a month ago though, which demostrates why proper parents go to the clinic and get them weighed accurately

hewlettsdaughter · 27/02/2005 21:02

Still have no idea how much my dd weighs - haven't been to the clinic since she was about 6 months and have no scales at home!
Hope ds recovers from the gastroenteritis soon lunavix - don't feel bad about leaving him, you weren't to know.
DD is getting tooth no 7 at the moment I think.

hewlettsdaughter · 27/02/2005 21:09

MrsD - have emailed you.

TracyK · 28/02/2005 09:44

Ds slept not too bad last night - down at 7pm, but woke at 10 as he'd fallen asleep only half finishing his milk - so finished it off at 10 and then woke again at 11 for some more - but then through till 6.30am. Good boy.
Although he is coughing a lot of mucus around at the mo.

dot1 · 28/02/2005 11:14

back to work (and therefore Mumsnet!) today - so of course everyone's much better now...! So relieved - ds2 is back to his lovely laughing eating tons self - I missed him when he was being poorly.

Dread to think how much he weighs now, but he's starting to fit 2 - 3 year old clothes - which are coming straight off his big brother, who's just turned 3 - saves us packing them all away I suppose..! I think ds2 will start walking in the next few weeks - he's just starting to cruise around and tries standing up on his own from time to time. We haven't fitted stairgates yet but won't get away with it for much longer...

LucyJones · 28/02/2005 11:18

Morning all - Dot, at least you are making good use of ds1's clothes and saving lots of money!! We have 6 inches of snow here today (Kent). Really wanted to go into town but feel a bit housebound and have a cold and don't feel up to pushing the pushchair through the snow covered pavements.
