I think i may, funds depending and if i can employ a chicken\rabbit boy. I need someone to look after the livestock in my absence. Any offers???

Shall i put a note up in the post office window? It will involve feeding and watering them all every day and they can keep the eggs. How much would you pay?

MKG · 26/06/2008 13:59

OK LG&T the Jane is about $500. It doesn't come with a car seat in the US because the carseats aren't approved here . . . yet. Most sites I found are UK sites, so your best bet would be to get it there. However you can look at these and see if there's anything you like. www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2256200&view=all

Question please, if I can (I would post on another thread but don't want the whole of mn to think I'm stupid )

What do we get from the govt in terms of contribution to pre-school. I know there are some funds for the term following their 3rd b'day (anyone know how much ?) but I also heard there may be something after their 2nd as well. Have I dreamed it ?

JamInMyWellies · 26/06/2008 14:19

LG&T can he pick me up a P&T vibe they are on $500 over there. If you are into smellies much cheaper too, tell him to go to the nearest Sephora. Old Navy for the kids. Bloomingdales for a bag for you dont think they do Radley in US. Oh dear I could give oyu a list of things a mile long for US shopping I miss it so.

Mrs JB well done H waht a clever chap.

Tilly have no idea about pre school stuff.

Lups TYG is brill for her buggy knowledge me being the numpty I am wouldnt even think about he width of things but it was her reminding me the other day which made me realise a side by side db wouldnt work for me.

LG&T - in all seriousness, I would love it if you would come and stay. We are away 8-18th of July, but anytime bar those dates, you are so welcome.

Jam - poor puppy! I must confess (at the risk of being ostracised) I am not an animal person though...

Tilly - no idea. Great response about the Staffs meet up though, .

Sky - dh was too busy on his laptop to be crying. He did say lots of helpful, soothing, calming things like, 'You've done this to her', 'You need to be stronger with her', 'You've made a rod for your own back', though. Knobcheese.

SKYTVADDICT · 26/06/2008 14:54

Tilly - I don't think you get any funding until they are 3 and then it is only 2 1/2 hours a day but that was when DD2 was 3 (now 7!). Don't think it has changed though.

PJ - he doesn't sound particularly helpful!!

twelveyeargap · 26/06/2008 15:03

This is what you need Lups! You'd have to get someone in the US to ship it for you though. Doh. Plus, at 48lbs, the shipping would cost more than the buggy and you wouldn't be able to use it for ages after a section.

MKG - Did you get one of these with one seat and the stand on bit?

Pinkjenny · 26/06/2008 16:14

Mum again!!! She's just phoned me:

Mum: Alexa and I got soaked coming out of playgroup, she's only got a t-shirt and her raincoat on, but she fell asleep in the car, she's still asleep. Do you think she'll be OK?
Me: Well how long has she been asleep?
Mum: 45 minutes
Me: Has the rain soaked through to her top?
Mum: I don't know.
Me: Wake her up if you're worried and dry her off.
Mum: Oh, she'll be OK, I'll go and get her in a minute.
Me: Everything OK otherwise though?
Mum: She didn't eat much lunch.
Me: Oh, why not?
Mum: Don't know. She only had a little bit of her 'potato thing'. She ate all her fruit cup though.
Me: Oh, wonder why she's not had much lunch.
Mum: Not sure. But she's had a breadstick, an apple, some toast and two pieces of chocolate.
Me: Right, so she's not half starved then?
Mum: Oh, not at all.

Seriously , is this the most pointless conversation you've ever heard?

SKYTVADDICT · 26/06/2008 16:17

Does she discuss the contents of her nappies though PJ? My mum does - I am surprised she doesn't save them for me to see! She saves half eaten food to show me how much he has eaten. You have to laugh though or your would scream!

Pinkjenny · 26/06/2008 16:19

Oh yes, we have the half eaten food thing too. But we don't have the poo thing, although she always tells me that she has done one, and at what time.

I said to her the other day, 'Honestly mum, every time I pick her up from nursery they say she's had a lovely day, but when I pick her up from your house, there's always been some drama or other'. I said it in a lighthearted way though, I know I'm a lucky girl to have her looking after her two days a week.

SKYTVADDICT · 26/06/2008 16:33

MKG - I've asked to be your friend on facebook - hope its you anyway!

MKG · 26/06/2008 16:40

Yes TYG I have the single and I really like it. It's a little difficult to steer (I was spoiled with my one handed steer on the other stroller, but it's great because Mateo like to walk with me, but sometimes I need to him to sit down.

Overall good stroller but if I would do it again I would get this,www.strollerdepot.com/moreinfo.php?SKU=1005 It has a little more room in the standing part.

MKG · 26/06/2008 16:43

Sky I've confirmed.

OK ladies I am looking at a pregnancy test. I don't know if I should take it, because it's too early. I will let MN decide. Majority rules.

Pinkjenny · 26/06/2008 16:45

Take It Take It Take It

Themasterandmargaritas · 26/06/2008 16:46

Good heavens, I go away, do the school run, feed them, dh comes home and has them all in the bath and you are still discussing strollers

Pink and Sky, be thankful you have mum nearby. Mine is thousand of miles away and it breaks her heart that J won't even know who she is when she comes in August.

....she can still be a pain in the arse though.
