Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

a year ago today was my LMP - weird. who knew, eh?

PeachyHidingInTheShed · 05/07/2008 14:47

ah, a year ago tuesday bas was conceived LOL, best birthday gift ever!

VS that's exactly right about the hormones in the evenings.

scorpio1 · 05/07/2008 15:20

i thought i would have a boy - Dexter. Never thought i would have a girl.

God im so bored, its crappy weather here and Jamie has that boredom only 3 year olds have on rainy days.

We have no kittys now.

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 13:46

OH I am talking to myself here, lol

Well, DH is talking to MIL again. She apparently is going to come down [shcok] - it has only taken 11 weeks for the thought

she is ringing me today - oh the joys

i havent spoken to her since xmas i don't think, DH normally deals with her. She want to stay overnight but shes not staying here - no room. She may stay at my parents, dunno yet.

Other than that i am still alive and actually ok....just shows how much i am used to doing this alone.

annamama · 06/07/2008 14:02

Hi scorpio! Good that you're still alive! And ok too, that's a bonus...

I slept for ages this morning while dp was looking after a non-sleepy Ellie. Now I feel even more out of it than usual... yawn.

When she woke up this morning at 4 she didn't cry (of hunger), she was just sort of made little restless noises. Could that be a sign that she's soon about to sleep through the night? fingers crossed

It's raining here in Kent too. Good excuse to do nothing!

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 14:06

Anna - when Mimi wakes and doesn't cry she has her dummy and just sort of looks about

I also found Mimi started waking later and later and feeding less and less until she didnt at all. She woke at 6.45am today, from 8.30 last night but w didnt get up till 9, we slept and she fed. I find those moments so precious; i never did that before.

Its horrid here gaian, i am stuck in with DC, cannot drive etc so will be going potty by tomorrow i expect. DH home at 730pm tomorrow and is treating me to an indian

annamama · 06/07/2008 14:22

That sounds nice! (The part about sleeping late and feeding, not the part about being stuck inside.)

He is treating you to an Indian? Is he not enough for you then...? I didn't realise for a second that you mean indian food, haha.

I've heard that babies can suddenly sleep through the night without warning... but it makes more sense what you said. We shall see... I might try the dummy if she doesn't cry, then maybe she'll go back to sleep. (I usually do that about 6-ish though.)

Anyone on here taking their babies to baby swim? I wanna do it! Just bought a "happy nappy" on ebay, apperently the only swim nappy that's leak proof. If poo gets in the pool they have to close it... yuk.

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 14:26

Yes we do swimming. MMy friend had a swimming pool at her old house, and htought her baby to swim - when was 1 she could swim alone!! So weird to see.

I particularly think living here that everyone needs to swim asap.

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 14:27

Oh and i couldnt eat a whole indian in one go

annamama · 06/07/2008 14:50

I clicked on your profile, see you live in Cornwall, that's cool, we wanna go there sometime but it's like 5 hrs drive away.

I read that kids are not able to learn to swim on the surface until they're at least 3 cuz they're not stong enough to support their body weight in the water... or something. So I wonder did your friend's baby swim on the surface or under, holding her breath...?

What happens when you go swimming? Does Mimi swim under the water like that baby on the Nirvana album cover?! Or do you just play around in the water?

Me & dp both love swimming & snorkling so I want Ellie to love it too! Although she might be too little for a snorkling mask and fins...

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 14:54

She swam both under and on top, more under than on top when swimming on top though iyswim

But they did do it everyday cos it was in her house. Mimi just splashes at mo, but both boys go under etc.

Its nice down here, i am sort of used to it though and like to holiday in cities!

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 14:57

Mimi only had jabs 2 weeks ago and we aren't allowed to take them in the pool until they have so not much practise with her yet

Just dunk 'em though, they have a reflex that makes them hold their breath.

annamama · 06/07/2008 15:01

Cool, will def go swimming soon!

I used to live in London, kinda miss it, but it's nice in the country too, closer to the sea, bigger house for your money.

We MIGHT go and live in Florida for 6 months from this autumn/winter, dp is american and we might just try it out, see what we think. Then we'd go to the beach everyday, hoorah!

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 15:05

Houses are rip-offs here. Seriously. 1 bedroom flat in town is about 140k, no garden, just a flat.

There are alot of houses in our town (georgian) that sell for 5/6 hundred k. . .

A normal 2 up 2 down is 160k.

I do like living here though. DH is from Surrey and we adore it there, would love to move but so much bloody hassle.

annamama · 06/07/2008 15:09

Wow, yeah that's expensive for not being in or close to London... In the states you can get a really nice house with pool and everything for about half of what it would cost here.

Uh-oh, baby waking up, she will start crying for my (her) boobies very soon.

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 15:10

We pay for the sea....it takes me about 4 minutes to get to it ...my parents literally 10 secs!

annamama · 06/07/2008 15:16

Lucky cow! I love the sea so much. Beaches around here are not that great, pebbly and very tidal. I'm from Sweden, love it there in the summer, so beautiful! Not going this summer thought it would be too much hassle with small baby. Will make up for it next summer though!

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 15:18

holidaying with small baby is fine. We are going to France this year.

I've never been to Sweden.

VictorianSqualor · 06/07/2008 17:52

2 up 2 down £160k.
I flipping wish!
Farking Oxford prices are ridiculous.
We've been looking houses near DD' school, for a decent sized three bed+garage and an attic big enough for conversion when DC4 arrives we need about £260k.

scorpio1 · 06/07/2008 17:59

Thats about the same here VS, these 2 up 2 down houses are ok for one child families, not ours, lol!

The 3 bed houses with garages in my road are £250k, plus. Ridiculous. Rents for 2 bedroom houses are 700pcm.

PeachyHidingInTheShed · 06/07/2008 20:06

2 up 2 down here- hmm, new buiold... £135? and the achool's ratyed good too. it's just that welsh jobs pay a pittance, the trick is to commute to bristol like dh- well until petrol goes yup even more
our rented house here wopuld be £250k home c(zummerzet), it'd cost £160k here, centuries old cottage

was ookiong at rents here and you can get somewhere in a nice part of the city (3 mile away) for £450!!!

Mum2BabyRoo · 06/07/2008 20:17

I wish it was that reasonable here! Our 2 up 2 down is now worth £220,000! 3 bedroom houses are £275,000 up dependant on the area. We won't be able to afford a 3 bed for a long time!

KnitterInTheNW · 06/07/2008 20:35

Everyone come and live here! Our 2 up 2 down end of terrace is on the market for £110k...

PortAndLemon · 06/07/2008 21:20

We'd need around £500,000 for a very basic three-bedroom house here (although having just searched to check that, I've spotted a five-bedroom house with garden for £425,000 and am wondering what's wrong with it... don't recognise the street name...)

scorpio1 · 07/07/2008 09:39

Hi

Well dh is home today, and weirdly i have been fine, i haven't even missed him that much

Think i have enjoyed the break iyswim - its so much easier knowing its only me here to do things. Though of course it will be nice to see him later. Think i have enjoyed the break because the week or so before he was being an arse so nice to have some quiet with just myself to answer to, lol

How are you, VS? Hope you are perking up. What will you do for contraception now? I keep forgetting my pill all the time, i can't be protected BUT i have told DH and its up to him then because i have done my part in telling him ive missed it and that we should use condoms. He still has days about dc4 and not.... bugger.

MIL rang last night, first time for months. She is actually going to visit us in a few weeks she hasnt seen Mimi yet.

What are you all up to?

Also, does anyone have PFJ's email, maybe we should email her because last time she was here she had alot of bother didnt she.

That breastpump is the best ( Ellie)i now have 25oz in the freezer just from the weekend!!
