Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

we have this one, but to be honest I'm not sure I'd reccommend as the music doesn't play for very long - Ben loves just looking up at the animals even if iit's not playing though.

just had to share something - DD2 has been a dream in her routine today. Already proud of myself, and following today's aquatic 'theme' initiated by a trip to the Horniman to see the seahorses this morning, whilst DD2 has her sleep upstairs, I was printing out pictures of underwater creatures for DD1 to stick on the radiator (whilst surfing the net, naturally). Preening about being such a multi-tasking supermum, I was browsing for the perfect treasure chest, when suddenly I heard 'mummy I threw my wee in the kitchen sink!' - had completely forgotten she had done a wee in the potty. This is her wooden (read absorbent) kitchen and her aim is not great. Our house is beginning to get a bit of an aroma.

11, 2, 4 and 6 last night (settled at 4 without a feed but took 40 mins). I must confess I was hating you guys with good sleepers just a little bit.

There are a couple that are battery operated and will play for about 20 mins this

Denny185 · 01/07/2008 17:31

Yeah I did a link that works, does this mean i'm not a techno phob anymore?

Sal22 · 01/07/2008 17:32

lol scampmum still sounds impressive to me, though!

Scampmum · 01/07/2008 17:45

help anyone with routine experience - DD2 down for her 4 till 5 nap at 4 on dot (12-2 was till 2.30 but a bit disturbed) - DO I WAKE HER UP? I must, I guess... just seems so wrong when I spend so much of my time trying to get her to sleep!

OP posts:
Denny185 · 01/07/2008 18:17

Sorry scamp a bit late, but i would say wake if you want to get her back to bed 4 a certain time otherwise let sleep.

Scampmum · 01/07/2008 18:24

thanks - woke her. She is supposed to go to bed at 7 but will prob just put her down a bit later (unless she is tired, in which case will put her down and cross my fingers!). DH out (awards ceremony so good excuse) so thinking of hitting the hay at around 7.30 myself!

Scorpio: saw this and thought of you

Niceychops · 02/07/2008 04:00

Feck. J is sleeping like a little angel tonight. And I am up sick as anything with food poisoning /stomach bug.

Seems to have settled down so eating ginger biscuits and sulking. Am wide awake!!!

Sal22 · 02/07/2008 10:09

I hope you're feeling better today, Niceychops!!!

sagitta · 02/07/2008 10:46

Scamp - those times (11, 2, 4 and 6) sound very familiar! But I was reading her who shall not be named yesterday, and she says to make sure LO is awake for 45 mins at the 10.30/11 feed, which I wasn't doing. I did last night, she had lots more milk than usual, and got more tired. Then when she woke at 2 I just settled her back to sleep - no food. I fed at 4, and 6, and she settled well both times. I am going to do it again tonight, then gradually try to cut out another feed too. I'll let you know how its going!

Thanks for the links to mobiles, everyone.

By the way, where is Scorpio? Has she been around recently?

Nicey chops - poor you. Hope you're feeling better today.

Discussing dates for next London meet here

I need to sort out DD's child benefit, too. Last time we got the form when we registered DS. First I need to go and get more printer paper as the form is 12 pages long...

PortAndLemon · 02/07/2008 12:00

Can you complete the form online? I've only managed to find one you need to download and print out.

sagitta · 02/07/2008 12:07

Pal - you can do it online here www.hmrc.gov.uk/childbenefit/claim-info.htm
, but I didn't quite trust the government's online security!

Scampmum · 02/07/2008 12:30

Thanks, Sagitta. I think most of my problems are because I'm always SO desperate to get back to sleep that I am never able to keep the long-term strategic goal in mind! Hence not burping for long enough if DD2 looks fast asleep, not bothering with gripe water often enough (takes about 5 mins to get her to take it all and she really doesn't like it). This morning I was frantic having been up since 3.20 pretty much non stop (and DD1 up until 12 - BOO) and DH was like 'have a change of scene, go for a walk' which I resisted on the grounds that I wanted to be able to sleep THE SECOND she shut her eyes (and because I literally didn't have the energy to dress us both). Of course he was right, she was in a state and would go to sleep only to wake up 3 minutes later. Eventually whacked her in the carrier and went to a neighbour's house (unannounced, poor thing was in her dressing gown with wet hair and found me almost sobbing on the doorstep!).

DH has been coming up with excuses (some valid, some more like 'but I'm not sure I want to be staying up that late' and naturally staying up that late anyway, even though he is really tired) and not doing the 10.30 feed so I need to get a bit more hardline on that. Last night had girls down (clean, fed etc.) at 7.40 but had to wait for bloody internet shopping and unpack it so didn't get to sleep until 9.45, to be woken a short time later by DD1 (scared of the dark, bless her). Tonight plan to be in bed by 7.30 - if DH is up (he has a massive work thing tomorrow) he can do the feed, if not, I'll just leave her and hope she makes it until 12 (but try and keep her up more at that one?).

I wonder if DD2 had too much sleep in the day yesterday? 8-9.30ish, 12-2.30, 4-5.45. I'm more inclined to think she needs a poo, though - hasn't done one since a small one on Monday and they do tend to trouble her. Having said that, this morning she did seem to calm down when I stopped trying to put her to bed and just played (well, the neighbour did, I played with her baby instead).

Shit, it's raining, I have to pick up DD1 and the car is at the station.

Sorry to vent, makes me feel better.

scorpio1 · 02/07/2008 12:38

oh and Scamp - i could always sell you the bed extension bit after it arrives here? If she will pack it for me....or just post it to you to try to see if it fits first?

PortAndLemon · 02/07/2008 12:45

Thanks. You can fill that one in on the PC but you still have to print it out and send it in (so online security doesn't come into it as you aren't actually sending any of the information you fill in electronically -- it never leaves your own PC). Still, I applied for DS's on completely paper-based forms and they still stuck my details on a DVD and mailed them somewhere random...
