Sorry if someone else has already started one - couldn't find it!

Much better night last night, maybe due to gripe water?

Niceychops - try netmums for things going on in your area. It lists all the baby and toddler groups, has a meet a mum section and loads more - basically a great site!

Dream feeding sadly didn't work for G either. She still wanted a 4am feed!

I need to start getting her into a proper sleep routine - especially at nights cos at the moment she only goes down properly at about 10/11pm. How do I go about doing it? She is so wide awake in the evening that I just don't know what to do. She has a bath and feed at about 7pm, but is wide awake still after that, and if she does get sleepy, she will only sleep max 30 min. I need a maternity nurse like yours Scamp to help me figure this all out. I've read Gina Ford and Baby Whisperer - I wish they could come to my house.

EllieG · 25/06/2008 16:28

Oh my god Mol has just done the smelliest fart in the world.

Hello all - how is everyone?

Glad pump is useful scorpio x

sagitta · 25/06/2008 16:33

Wonder if its as smelly as those that soya-fed dd1 does, ellie

Thought I'd broken A this afternoon. I was out of earshot for an hour , thinking she was asleep, realised she was crying in her cot and when I found her her head was completely jammed against the bars - with two enormous cot-bar-shaped indentations in the head . I felt awful - but two hours later, and they've completely disappeared. Thank feck for that.

sagitta · 25/06/2008 16:34

PS, so you don't think I am a really shit mum, I have been to the doctor (booked for six-week check anyway) and A is fine, as is her head.

EllieG · 25/06/2008 16:39

I don't think you're a shit Mum, is the kind of thing would happen to me!

She's just done two of the biggest poos have ever seen. God, would never have thought there was room for all that in there!

Sorry if have put you all off your afternoon tea

Must go finish feed see you all later

Denny185 · 25/06/2008 17:01

Sagitta is it not normal to get them out of bed with bar marks down their faces?

VictorianSqualor · 25/06/2008 17:41

ALEX TOOK A BOTTLE!
WOOHOO!
VS CAN GO OUT AND GET WASTED

Niceychops · 25/06/2008 18:07

Thanks heaps for link M2BR!

Sagita - my niece corrugated her head on the cot a couple of weeks ago - think it is a rite of passage!

Nice one VS - I'm going out tomorrow to get wasted too - well, maybe two glasses of wine, home at 9:30 which is pretty bloody hedonistic these days...

moominsmummy · 25/06/2008 19:01

quick hello everyone - hope you're all ok. We're doing ok- am just so sleep deprived I keep losing my balance. DH has (finally) realised how bad it is so is on evening duty whilst I go to bed in a bit.

James doing well and piling on weight (is nearly 7 weeks and is 13lb8oz). He has a floppy larynx (resulting in piggie noises) as well as very narrow nasal passages (gets blocked up easily) so he is a very noisy baby.

no time to catch up on all the news - can anyone do a summary? any news from PFJ? Ellie what happened about your DH?

VictorianSqualor · 25/06/2008 19:06

Quick summary.

Bas (peachy's DS) has put a decent amount of weight on this week, even though the bastard HV's are still moaning.

Scamp, had a maternity nurse and seems to be getting baby into a bit of a routine, well, at least she got some sleep!

Ellies DP didn't have a heartattack after all, he's fine and dandy.

We haven't heard from PFJ for a while.

moominsmummy · 25/06/2008 19:18

Thanks VS

Phew for Ellie and her DP

Well done Bas

Scamp re maternity nurse but pleased it has helped

oh and james still has hideous newborn rash although now query over whether it might be eczema (he's not bothered by it though)

elfsmummy · 25/06/2008 21:56

Niceychops,
agree that netmums is a great site for finding things on in your area. Its free to join then you log into your local "site" I'm thinking that yours would probably be Ricmond. I just had a quick look at the richmond site and it looks like you have quite a few possibilities.

Its hard to know which to suggest as you'll know what's close to you geographically, but it looks like the Odeon in Kingston on Thames does mather and baby screenings on Thursday mornings which are always good fun - although not so great for actually meeting other mums.

Also on the parent and toddler page there are 5 mother and toddler groups specific to whitton. Usually these have a baby area where the smaller ones can be put down safely away from toddlers and you can have a natter with the other mums. They're usually only about a pound a shot.

There were also quite a few baby massage possibilities. For example this one

Also some music classes MiniPs from 3 months to 3 years junipers creative play from 3months

In fact I'm very jealous of quite how much you have going on in your area!! The structure classes are generally pretty expensive in my experience although they vary so shop around. Personally my DD1 goes to one structured class a week (jo jingles) plus a couple of mother and toddler groups.

I hope this helps. Have a look around the netmums site. Its pretty easy to use. Come back to mumsnet for the chat though!!

elfsmummy · 25/06/2008 21:58

The above post was for niceychops

I'd hate to do all my research and for her to miss it. Should have bolded.

Niceychops · 25/06/2008 22:02

thank you so much EM!!

scorpio1 · 26/06/2008 09:54

Just saying hi

Denny185 · 26/06/2008 10:14

Morning all

It's our wedding anniversary today, 9 years, m+d babysat last night for us and we went out 4 a lovely meal, 3 courses and didn't move out our seats - luxury.

Got home at midnight and contemplated waking DD2 for a feed (prev one at 7.30) but decided couldn't be arsed. She slept in till 5.45 . Can't wait for her to do something consistant so my boobs can get used to it, they woke me at 4 and had to express.

Mum2BabyRoo · 26/06/2008 10:32

Congrats Denny!

NotVisitingUInVictorianSqualor · 26/06/2008 10:47

Congratulations Denny

sagitta · 26/06/2008 10:53

Congrats Denny, glad you had a nice night, and some sleep!

Bar marks down the face, yes, normal here. But cot embedded in the skull, less good . She's being a dream today though, maybe its done her some good!

Wonder how the meet up went? Do you think everyone got on? Or are we non-Londoners going to be the only ones left on the thread?!

at DH. DD1 woke at 5.20am - I knew DH had to be at work early, so even though I'd only had three hours sleep I got up (dd1 is his job). When i got back, he was up too getting ready for work - but hadn't offered to sort DD1 which he had plenty of time for...

TheMaskedPoster · 26/06/2008 10:54

Congrats Denny !

Have been off line for almost a week as we swapped internet providers (and the usual palarvour followed )

Goodness moominsmummy - James (and you of course) is doing very well weight wise. Livi is 13 weeks and 12lb3! Although she is following her curve nicely (just below the 50th).

Oh and she is rolling over ALL the time now. I put her on her play mat and over she goes. She did it for the first time at 11 weeks and 5 days !!

Will try and read all later - hope all are well.

Well done Bas for putting on the weight and Alex for taking to a bottle (hooray for some free time I say)- that is as far back as I have skim-read.

Take care
xx

sagitta · 26/06/2008 10:57

Rolling over?

Guess I should stop leaving A finely balanced on a kitchen stool...

NotVisitingUInVictorianSqualor · 26/06/2008 11:10

It says on the meet-up thread that they had a good time.
How about you sagitta?TMP? are you two able to make a london meet-up in the summer holidays?

Sal22 · 26/06/2008 11:43

Congrats Denny!

Meetup was great, I'd love to do it again. When's school holidays? Would be great to meet more of you then.
